and over on the right was an advertisement for a lady-oriented dating website
it consisted of that picture of Borfase with a can stuck in his mouth
and some text, the thrust of which was "sick of schmucks like this? try out our dating website!"
I played a lot of vanilla WoW with Manifest and we started doing end game raiding with the main Penny Arcade alliance guild. Most of the time it was us talking in private messages goofing on people or telling stories. Also, by the third boss in Manifest was blazed out of his gourd and I was drowning in a whiskey river. His story about Borfase peeing all over the bathroom, as if it was a game of get urine everywhere except in the toilet, was hysterical.
When I very first joined I was Dr. Quinn from Sealab 2021, then I was The Monarch for a hot minute, then Daniel Plainview for a while, and then this here Archer for a few years now. Probably gonna stick with it. Not much reason to change.

Wow. It just goes to show how visual people can be. I was trying to remember something about you for the Census, and now that you mention the Dr. Quinn avatar, I suddenly remember a lot more about you now. Jeez, I should pay more attention to names.

I always mistake your avatar for @Zonugal in makeup.

I have no memory of what my first avatar here was.
I do remember getting yelled at to get an avatar, and to stop signing my posts with my name when there was a signature function. I did it because I used to post massive posts that I felt people wouldn't know who was talking at the end.

My first avatar was a bunch of dollar signs flashing around because I was obsessed with capitalism and Ayn Rand at the time. It's rather embarrassing, because since then, I became jaded about it, and then ultimately blasé about economic models in general. (Funny how parenthood can really change one's life outlook.)
If I could I'd change my name to something smaller like discap or something.

I didn't really stop lurking until I found this avatar, and now I can never change it because then how would the house keep its judgmental eyes on all of you?
often times I'd be watching something or something, and then I'd go 'ohhhhhhhh, that's where such and suches avatar is from'

I was mostly a lurker in my too many years on this board (and even before my join date, I think I remember registration was closed for some time?) And my avatar is from the Gamespot forums for RtCW, but I had a couple different ones for some time. I like the simplicity. And then I saw that Nedroid in the book (which has a better drawn version), so I made a pliers theme.

Well, she has an avatar now. I gave her a transparent 80x80 block to replace the default Gabe head when the forums switched to Vanilla.

Oh god. We should send her a condolences card. A completely blank one with nothing on the cover.

I actually have a folder with all the Optimus Prime avatars I've used over the years. I know I've used some of them more than once, but I wanted to make sure I was doing so on purpose.
Yes, on rare occasion I had an avatar that wasn't Optimus. I know I was well-dressed Mako for a while, and also Bruce Willis.
I intended to have a link to the actual death rabbits clip but it turns out the clip labeled death rabbits didn't have the actual bit about death rabbits (I think the episode was called death rabbits...outside of some bits of that episode, I've never seen the show myself)
End on
I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us
I don't remember when exactly, but at one point early in my lurking, @Kuribo's Shoe put out a call for people to make him some images to use for a rotating avatar. I was digging through my old image hosting and found the ones I made, but I am unsure if I ever actually POSTED them.

It's at the veeeeery end of the clip.
It's actually the only time they appear in the show I think.

On the possibility that there are people here who haven't seen this because they were tiny little babies when it happened,

I was Archie the wendigo/dog thing from Bad Machinery, yes.
Also a Quake 1 shambler for a while.
I forget what else.
I played through Quake for the first time a couple of years ago and I think I had a shambler av then too.

Every time one of those was made, I was in it multiple times.
Except my avvy is a bit broken and I haven't gotten in touch with @orthanc to work out the details.
I changed a lot
First was the Fighter sprite from the first Final Fantasy game on NES. Second was HK-47 from KOTOR.

Still, Eisenstein woooo.
Edit: I think my favourite was when sigs where annoyingly large and I had a sig av combo of Munch's wood cut prints of the Scream and Vampire.
Sooooooo that's not a guinea pig?
How has someone with an aqua teen reference in their name not seen frisky dingo?

Can you believe there are practically no Frisky Dingo clips on the internet? It's just random bullcrap and a couple of whole episodes.
It's a pretty funny show.
