[Elder Scrolls Online] Game is LIVE!

I'd think anything leaked elsewhere would be fair game.

If I wanted to make a mage-tank, this is what I'd do, based on that skills link that's been floating around the thread:
Breton Sorcerer
Bound Armor (Daedric Summoning)
Lightning Form (Storm Caller)
Conjured Ward (Daedric Summoning)
Winged Twilight (Daedric Summoning)
Puncture (Sword and Shield)
Dragonskin (Breton racial ultimate)

Not going to mention passives, because there's lots of good passives for magicka cost reductions and all here. Should be able to have tons of magicka from passives, and stamina use is low (just Puncture). Lots of sustained damage sources, but no spike damage. Ultimate could be Overload from Storm Caller instead to buff weapon up more, and switching out to 2h and Surge instead of Conjured Ward would let me make more of a spellsword build (lots and lots of self-buffs and constant AoE damage).

This game has me theorycrafting like mad already. I like.

Edit: Also, Daedric Curse>Mage's Fury is pretty mean. 6 seconds later, the curse triggers for a big damage spike. This drops their health low enough for the secondary trigger of Fury to explode them for another damage spike. Usually this kills them, so I can set it up and watch them charge at me... only to die at my feet.

I saw that gif at the start of WoW. Thanks for posting it because I tried looking for it a couple years ago and couldn't find it.

Also the lack of a queue counter/bar is not helping the whole time going up thing either. It has now gone from 24mins wait to 30mins.

That wasn't my experience this morning. When I tried to put in a single space (to separate the given name from the surname, it flashed a big red error at me. Maybe I did something wrong. I'll try again tonight when I get home from work.

The last beta the login stuff was pretty smooth... the one before that it was very stress test like and it had the same issues.

This time they of course let in a ton more people, so I would assume they are adding more resources to allow all this.

I noticed in my email invite to this stress test that it said if I log in tomorrow during the stress test deal, I will be invited back for another test, so I guess i'll get to try the game then if it isn't functional at all this weekend.

Sat in the queue for a bit, timer just went up to and sat at about 19min. Eventually I loaded in though. In game now.

Also for Alliance War I joined the Bloodthorn Campagin.

Also getting mixed messages about whether beta characters will stay on your account after this event.

Pretty sure that they've mentioned keeping your characters through beta. Of course there'll be a wipe after beta.

I'm having a different problem, I can log in fine, but every load zone is like a 10 minute wait. Might be because I set my region to EU? No idea if there's a stress test over here or if they're just routing us to the US (last beta sure felt like it, everything had a +second delay).

I finally logged in with my character from last beta, even in stonefalls which should be away from the new testers, loading time was a while

You can absolutely use spaces in names. Just made a character with a first and last name like 2 hours ago.

Clicking 'Create' does nothing. I presume this is due to the server load, or am I missing something?

Definitely server load. Just got hit with a dozen "Character name already in use" prompts. Changed the name and proceeded to the next step.

Both of them sound disappointed, both of them basically saying "It feels too much like an MMO and not enough like an Elder Scrolls game."

I would say you have to accept that an MMO will feel like an MMO no matter what, but the problem with that is that the vast majority of the interest in this game is understandably going to be from Elder Scrolls fans, so if they feel it doesn't capture what they like about ES, then it's going to be a problem.

The 2nd half of the PC gamer video does have some positives they liked, such as the crafting.

Considering how far into development they were when they decided to add in the first person view (which they had no plans of adding until fans found out) this doesn't surprise me whatsoever.

This is the major reason why I didn't start following this game until very recently. It just screamed MMO cash in on an established franchise. I didn't want to bother following until there were some major leaks or the NDA was lifted.

Man, I am having a seriously hard time with this game on my iMac. I have had two crashes and one hard lock in about 6 hours of playtime.

I got to play for several hours this afternoon.

It's... rather interesting. Hasn't felt particularly "MMO-y" yet, which is a really good thing.

Agreed. Though I've only played a few levels, it feels more like I'm playing a low-graphic-setting Elder Scrolls game with other people than an MMO.

I invested a few hours tonight. It has improved dramatically since the last beta that I played in. I'm fairly certain I'll be picking this up at launch.

Just wish I had some folks to chat with.

The social window (O) lets you add friends. I'm Daggerfall alliance if anyone else is. I'm like lvl 9 now so I'm close to PVP and the first dungeon.

Personally, I kind of like that I don't know what to make of this game. IMO some of the media coverage has been bad. RPS, who I usually like, was (IMO) unfair to the story. And I'm getting a bit of the theorycraft itch already.

Get to lvl 10.
Push L (I think its default, if not its the rook icon at the top right are of the menu bar)
This brings up the Alliance War screen, on the top right click the crossed swords and then click the "Special Events" ones on the left, I think we all are in Bloodthorn.
Sign up for it and then I think you either right click to warp to it or highlight it and push the "use" key.

Also dont let people troll you and say you are "stuck" in the PVP zone... there is a wayshrine at the main camp, when you use it to bring up the map, right-click twice and it will zoom back out to all of tamriel

my screen goes completely black with no obvious way to recover as i'm initially running out of my jail cell. anybody seen that and/or know something to try? i'm searching the knowledge base but not seeing much.

Update your video drivers. That should be the very first thing you do when you encounter weird graphical glitches on a new or beta game. If you can find the beta drivers for your card, get those.
