NewEgg has lots of Borderlands stuff on sale. Use code EMCPDPD92 for extra 15% off. Headhunter DLCs are only $.85. Finally grabbing Son of Craw....and then downloading 15GB for an hour of play time....
Cool beans. For some reason I thought I was missing a bunch of DLC's but enhanced steam says I'm only missing Headhunter 4 & 5. Might as well grab em and have the complete and total game.
Incidentally, it's fucking insane that there is $125 of DLC for the game.
I finally played Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. I hadn't touched BL2 in ages and went in to it with low expectations, but it turned out to be really good.
I guess I missed out on an achievement by punching a guy instead of giving him a bunch of money. I think that sort of thing is a little annoying, but I guess it's not like I was ever gonna get 100% anyway, because of the raid bosses.

You know, I could get behind Jack as a good guy turning into a bad guy. That could be interesting. I definitely didn't see Athena as a bad guy so the fact that she's working with Jack might imply that's the situation.

Ah, it cut the best part about eliminating Brock first. You hear him beating the crap out of Steve for the next couple of hands and no one reacts to it.
I wonder if the pre-sequel will have the old, pre-corporate-f***-up Hyperion guns. The ones that were a nice shiny red and hella accurate from the first shot, not just after you've burned through half the damn magazine.
So if I had the first season pass how much do I need to spend too just get the DLC with achievements? I finished the first one off completely and would like to do the same to the second. I was thinking about buying the second season pass. Just to get the most bang for my buck.
Cool. For some reason I thought they released a second season pass. And none of the customization stuff interests me at all. Really I am not sure if BL2 is as good as BL1 for me or if my memory is biased because I played the first one for so long with my best friend. And then did not get that chance for 2. But I still love the franchise and want to put the game to rest fully before the next one.
If you just want to experience more gameplay, the 5 head hunter packs are only $1 each (which I find to be a fair price) from newegg right now. (Link at the top of this page.) If you get both level cap increases you also get the digistruct peak challenge map.
I really liked the idea of the Hyperion accuracy thing, but they shouldn't have the crazy weapon jerk that happens on the first few shots. They should just get more accurate instead of less accurate as you fire more shots.

So, that moon dance trailer is on the Xbox dash and it's pretty much the same thing...
Except it has the release date at the end.

EDIT: I should probably change my avatar to something more appropriate these days...
. . . I've never played in True Vault Hunter Mode. Mainly because I picked up and finished my Gaige playthrough. I have my choice between her, Axton and Zer0 for TVHM now - maybe I'll stick with Gaige because Anarchy is really useful (when you can hit something).

I'm one of the few people around here who never had any trouble with TVHM, and don't know what all the fuss is about...
Except on my Zero playthrough, where Wilhelm, the easiest boss in the game, was completely impossible. He's a terrible, broken character and unplayable solo.
TVHM isn't too bad. UVHM can go die in a fire though.
UVHM (to some degree) should have been TVHM. Slag wasn't really required until UVHM, which was a bad decision on GB's part. Heck, TVHM should have been Normal, insofar as PT2.5, and scaling differences. I can get to Lv.43 on Normal if I run every single mission available, but the gear stops way before that. Either I have to use a save editor, or hit up TVHM just to get gear to be properly set up for the latter part (DLC) of Normal.
Better idea, take Slag out back and shoot it as the terrible, bullet-sponge-promoting idea/mechanic that it is. (You'll probably have to shoot it several times, thus.)
My office mate was having a rough day dealing with managers throwing her under the bus for stuff that wasn't her fault. As I left for lunch I fired up BL2 with my level 72 psycho on my laptop and said "should you feel the need to smash things with an axe, I'm just gonna leave this here."
As someone who absolutely adored BL1, I bought BL2 as soon as it came out. Played a little bit but then was overcome by life events (i think it came out about the time my 2nd kid came).
I'm finding myself with some time and this is highest on my priority list for games to play. Reading past posts, looks like there is quite a bit of DLC out there. Can i play through this before i "need" to buy some of the DLC available? I don't remember there being a psycho class to play with when i first booted the game up.
Secondly, as a purely solo player. Is there a class i should stay away from? I was thinking the Gunzerker or Soldier would be the ones for solo play.
"Look out here comes"..."Susan"..."Suuuuuuuuuuuuusan".
"Woah, I just scared myself!"

All the story DLC is post main campaign, so you can wait on sale for the season pass. There are 2 level cap increases, but you can wait on those, you shouldn't hit cap until near the send of playthough
There are 2 character DLCs, Mechromancer (which you got free if you preodered) and Psycho, so you can get those early if you want to play as them.
I find Psycho (at least at high levels) to be a great solo class. Zerker is also supposed to be really great for solo. I played through as Zer0 and it got pretty frustrating at times.
Maya is great fun solo for PT1 (although there are some enemies and bosses who are not affected by her phaselock. Threshers can all die in a fire.) In subsequent playthroughs she sometimes has trouble putting out enough DPS for the bullet spongy enemies, sometimes making her overly reliant on specific gear combos. She does have one of the best two character powers for slagging TVHM and UVHM enemies.
Krieg is hands down the best for soloing, with Salvador being second. Axton and Gaige are tied for third, because while they aren't as awesome, they have built-in partner that can pull heat off the player and help with the killing. Maya's fifth, because phaselock is pretty fun, and she does have an endskill that helps with pulling heat off her (as well as two end skills that make killing much easier). Zer0 rounds out the list in last because as cool as his melee build or sniping is, he has no real way to avoid/lessen danger, even with his cloak, and there is no OHK sniper rifle in the game once you get to the higher levels/difficulties.
This isn't to say that Zer0 is shit, he's still my favorite character, but (generally speaking) a solo beast he is not. Everyone has builds that optimize their abilities for solo though, so feel free to investigate.
But yeah my solo game with him kinda ground to a halt and I ended up just using him to teleport slice mooks in multiplayer games.

Zero was probably the most gear dependent character in the game. Krieg can beat the game naked (I'm pretty sure a guy on youtube chronicled the entire slaughter), Gage just has so much going for her, Sal and Maya can do work with just about anything. Zer0 though is one of the characters that can be beast end game under the right builds and setup. He...can one/two shot Pyro Pete if you abuse critical ascension. But Krieg's slag/blood-splosion combo is just so much easier.

Right, so the only extra money you're spending is on one (maybe both) of the upgrade packs if you're looking for achievements.

it's really easy to wind up in a situation where your guns are lagging multiple levels behind the average level of the mobs
