Krieg is tough until you get the last skill in Mania.
You want a good torgue shotgun and a lot of tactical nounce. I even packed a sniper rifle in the earlier levels. I was a cunning krieg.
You want GOOD shields until you get that last skill and you want to activate BAR when you have shields so they get depleted while you charge.
And for the love of all that is holy learn to throw your axe. If a dude is too far away start chucking it. Learn how it works. Throw it any time you need to.
It's the difference between "This class sucks" and "I STARED INTO THE HEART OF DARKNESS AND I ATE IT ALL!!!!"
If you do get light the fuse, know that you can throw the dynamite twice as fast by timing your clicks. I can't remember the exact tell but it makes a big difference. I generally preferred having a big rocket launcher always reloaded over LtF, especially if it the one where you throw it to reload. (I've forgotten every name but Torgue. O_O)
Once you hit the final Mania ability all these skills you have worked so hard to learn will turn you into IVE GOT A BIG HAND

I don't how you guys play Krieg, but I found him to be impossible to play once you hit about OP4, particularly doing Digistruct Peak or Tiny Tina's Dragon's Keep. I mean, I've seen videos of Bahroo do OP8 with melee Krieg, but I don't know how he manages to throw axes that well.
Easy mode Krieg is Hellborn with a Flame of the Firehawk shield and a Good/Bad Touch SMG. You can pretty much clear to level 72 with that.
To clear Tiny Tina's Dragon's Keep and Digistruct Peak in UVHM, I had to switch to melee Krieg (Mania/Bloodlust), because too much stuff resisted fire damage. Which is fun, but hard.

Krieg has a skill ceiling as high as a DnD 3.0 Wizard is broken.
He throws axes that well because that's what you have to do.

Secondly, as a purely solo player. Is there a class i should stay away from? I was thinking the Gunzerker or Soldier would be the ones for solo play.
All of the classes are easy to solo up to 61, through TVHM. The big secret is to get a Moxi weapon and toss a grenade, for when you need on-demand healing.
Once you are in UVHM, leveling to 72, I find Maya to be the easiest, as she can slag without a weapon, heal on demand, via talents, and completely stop one enemy from damaging you. She easily has the best talent to deal with flyers. Basically, she has an out for every situation.
Second would be Salvador, as he can dual wield either a slag weapon or a Moxi/healing weapon in his off hand, which makes UVHM a breeze. Plus an instant heal talent too. The main reason Salvador is harder to solo than Maya is that all his talents revolve around mid distance play. You really can't snipe off a few harder enemies before jumping into the fray, like Maya can.
Axton's problem is that his slag talent, slag turrets, suck at targeting, so you cannot count on slagged enemies in UVHM, at least not without slagging them yourself. Thus, you are constantly swapping weapons with Axton in UVHM, which makes some maps harder than necessary. Especially since Axton doesn't have a good healing talent, forcing him to rely on Moxi weapons or transfusion grenades for healing.
I've done a full run with melee Zer0 and had no issues. Especially after getting the Law revolver and the final talent that allows you to keep stealth meleeing things as long as they die. I was running through everything except bosses with one melee. To include some badasses.
About halfway through my Krieg run now and I'm going mania and hes really awesome but not as strong as Zer0. I think its mostly because I'm using Krieg as more of a tank instead of an assassin like Zer0.
Once you get the ability to set yourself on fire with any elemental gun. Switch to Electric. Get on fire, build stacks, pop berserker before dying. Laugh.
Just set up your playlist with metal and go psycho. I recommend either Slayer - Raining Blood or the inspiration for my build
We just announced the Storytime speaker for the PAX Prime: Mike Neumann of Gearbox, who I know as “Mikey,” but I may have earned that. If you loved the bonkers tone of Borderlands, what you actually love is Mike Neumann. He did amazing work on Brothers in Arms also, and I learned a lot working with him on our project for it. I can’t really contain him in a paragraph. I fully expect him drop some science.
Alright, BL2 downloaded
may not have tested Arkham City first
but whatever.
Anyway, classes! Already did a Commando run and was halfway through an Assassin run on the 360. Main things I'm considering are another Commando run, a Siren run, or a Mechromancer run. Definitely like Gaige best thematically, but her playstyle doesn't sound super fun.

It is fun though. It's like Instant Co-op, but you get ALL the loot!
Anyway, framerate is pretty choppy, but not unplayable. Definitely makes it harder to fight, though.

You aim with anarchy.
What you talking about.
Look this is anarchy, right?
You get anarchy.
You get close enough.
You get a 1 shot per reload shotgun.
You aim with it until 250+.
Then you still aim with it, because it increases the distance of your pellets because that's the crazy way aim works in these games.
So it still increase your damage even if all your shots ping off sideways and all converge with Close Enough.
Then when you hit 300+ you start giggling like a crazy madman and screaming I WILL NEVER HIT ANYTHING in perfect synch with Gaige while you leap over obstacles and shoot the ground.
When you hit 400 you scream ANARCHY FOR EVERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR AND EVEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Pull out your hyperion shotgun.
Point it at the ground.
And left click to destroy the universe.
Never fails.
Robot optional.

Alright, just finished all the stuff in Opportunity
and so now I'm hearing Jack's VA trying to speak in the pitch of his regular voice, while speaking in the cadence or whatever of a teenage girl.
It's rather amusing.
Also still no to Anarchy. Think I'm gonna try out some of these electricity skills, though.

I once left the main mission at the point after Opportunity with Maya, and did ALL the DLC... after a couple of hours I realised why Maya's voice was glitched and I kept sounding like Jack...

Well, you have Piston, a large, overly muscular, treacherous black man, and you have Motor Momma, a large, obese, car loving, cannibalistic black woman.
Posts
Melee focused, so things like Silence the Voices, Salt the Wound.
Pull the Pin and Light the Fuse are fun for living life on the edge of death.
Roid damage shields are great. Love Thumper is my favorite.

i didn't like anarchy, and without anarchy she is kind of awful
Rampage and heal! Heal and rampage!
Here is mine I used for my psycho. If you are not on fire at all times you are doing it wrong.

If so, you should be able to run Borderlands 2 with some minor tweaking. UE3 is pretty damn scalable.
If you don't have the first one; shame on you, but just find a demo of a UE3 game like Batman or something and see how it goes.

Some people hate heaven. What can you do?
Electricity is much better in the higher difficulties where everything and its mother gets a shield.
When tied with anarchy, obviously.
UVHM you need to have friends and a plan and then it's no longer a game but work.
I dunno.
Could do some of these DLCs on regular mode.
I could also play Halo.
Decisions.
At LEAST do Dragon's Keep.
Also, is it just me, or is this DLC kinda racist?
So racist.
But Piston? Never really cared.
Also, my phone will auto caps lock TORGUE now.
