Well I might actually start playing BL2 again now. Plus my brother sent me his old newish GPU so I can actually see some of the pretties this time around.
Hotfix launched today increases legendary drop rates in Borderlands 2 and the pre-sequel. Feels like this is far too late...
Legendary Drop Rate Hot Fixes Releasing Today
05.26.15 - Jeff Skal
The results of our recent Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel legendary drop rate experiments are in! A special thanks goes out to everyone who played and shared feedback over the last few weeks.
After analyzing thousands of hours of your gameplay and feedback survey data, we’ve decided to add a permanent 3x drop rate increase to both games!
Yes, you read that right – starting May 26, hot fixes* that increase legendary drop rates will be rolling out for Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel across all platforms! We’ll be looking to permanently incorporate these hot fixes via future updates down the road.
For the curious, here’s a little background on how the experiments went down. Every week between April 9 and May 13 had a different legendary drop rate modifier applied via hot fix, but we held back on the exact details. We did this because we wanted to find out what drop rate felt right and didn’t want player opinions being influenced by the numbers.
For those five weeks, community members tested out the drop rates and let us know what they thought via the forums and feedback surveys. After digging through all the data, we discovered that standard drop rates were perceived as too rare but that anything over a 3x boost felt like too much – almost to the point where it was starting to take away the challenge and excitement from seeing that beautiful orange glow.
Thanks again to everyone who participated in our experiments and happy hunting!
*A hot fix is automatically applied at the "Press Start" screen when Borderlands 2 or Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel is connected to the internet. To ensure that you receive hot fixes, make sure that your system is connected to the internet when the game boots up. As always, for help or support with Borderlands or SHiFT, visit http://support.gearboxsoftware.com.
I was just wondering if there was any increased loot drop time left!
I'm really glad they did this. It makes me want to take a run at Claptastic Voyage (but then I remember some of you talking about the hour long bullshit boss fight and that desire withers quite a bit...)
^^ that, really gearbox needs to pull their head out of their collective asses and create a new damn engine before trying to get even more blood from the borderlands franchise stone.
edit: reinstalled TPS i still run out of bullets in redonkulously short order and spend the too much game time in fight for your life, and opening boxes. The former still seems to be a horrible design flaw and the latter is probably because im awful and woefully geared (lvl 12 athena and 43 nisha)
So I ran my 47 Nisha thought Claptastic voyage and had a good enough time that I decided to finish TVHM. That went smoothly enough, slightly overleveled and with a few good pink weapons to help me through. So why not do UVHM to Concordia at least? I cashed in 15 keys in TVHM to get some good gear and set out.
Everything was going swimmingly until Deadlift. 12+ deaths and my high water mark was getting his shield down about two thirds. He's 52 and I'm 50 and it was profoundly unfun.

UVHM.
Yeah, he's a bit of a difficulty spike, though I didn't have near as much trouble with him as you did. Still better than BL2's UVHM, at least.
Drone-specced Wilhelm, for reference.

I really hope if there's another game, they finally fix UVHM and the difficulty system in general to stop that from happening.
The Cortex arena shows they're at least experimenting with it...

Speaking of the cortex arena, did I miss a fast travel station somewhere, or do you seriously have to slog all the way through the subconscious and sub-subconscious every time you want to visit?

Where is the Cortex Arena chest supposed to be? I've finished it on lvl 1 and 3 and never saw a chest. Is it near where you set the levels and mutators?

Catch a keyyyyy!
I'm never doing that again.

I picked up Tales from the Borderlands on Steam, so I've been playing through it... it's one big QTE, apparently? I mean, I know it's a Telltale game, and not a Gearbox game, but man, QTEs are not my favorite mechanic. Especially when it comes to dialog choices.
Story is pretty fun though, and it's cool to finally get something that takes place after BL2.

That's par for the course for Telltale games. They're interactive stories with dialog choices and (mostly inoffensive) QTEs thrown in every so often.

Hey this is where the keys live, get you one!
Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel 3 keys:

Bought Pre-Sequel and Claptrap's Voyage during the sale and have been playing them, and there's one huge question I have - why on Earth does the DLC start at lvl 30 when you can easily finish the main game at lvl 26-27? Been muddling through but it's not really fun and there's no high level sidequests left to do to fix the situation.
I'm genuinely curious if there's some sort of weird game design point to it or if they are just assholes or if they are trying to sell those awful arena fight DLCs or what.

The xp curve in presequel is borked as hell
Did they ever even fix the full run of UVHM giving you like, three levels
Not a bad way to get them if you know somebody that doesn't have any of the games yet. Beat the average gives a 75% coupon for the Pre-Sequel, might be worth a shot.
Let's discuss the most important thing about episode 3:
I SPENT SO MUCH ON OUTFITS
I got the black/gold coat for Fiona so she could get a new hat, the new glasses for Vaughn (just to see if/how he would react what with the whole paralysis thing) and Rhys a sweet red and white Iron Man robot arm. I spent $1400, lol

i could only buy two cheap ones because i blew all my money on the best mask and the scooter special
Episode 4 must take place at roughly the same time as the end of the Pre-Sequel then.
Heh. Brick's even sporting the same injuries on his arm at the start of the Pre-Sequel that he suffered from the plant in Tales. That's some attention to detail.

the worst
I saved my money for the mask, but I did splurge on the Scooter special. Bought Fiona the steampunk outfit. I would've liked to outfit Loader Bot, but I just didn't have the cash and all the other characters didn't really have anything I thought worth buying.
In hindsight, perhaps I should've been a bit more modest with the caravan, but eh.
I bought Rhys the Sweet Rave Party arm, and that was it. There was other stuff I almost got instead, but I wanted to keep the money in case of emergency. Or I was just hoarding.
Uh, so I bought the bundle and downloaded Borderlands 1, but when I put in the key for the second one it doesn't show up in my games list and start downloading. Anyone else get the same thing?
Disregard that, took a bit to show up.
I liked Jack's realization of how if he had actually hired the Vault Hunters and threw money at them instead of trying to kill them, things would've worked out vastly better and he might not actually be dead.
Also holy crap Vallory.

Picked up the Handsome Collection since its on sale and I might have four people to play local with, AND I bought the full copy of Tales since it was also on sale.
So 2 questions...
Where does Tales fit in timeline-wise? I just finished episode 3, but I haven't finished Pre-Sequel yet, and the ending for the episode makes a pretty strong case that Tales takes place between both games (well, BL 2 and TPS's framing story).
And since I purchased all 5 episodes at once, how do I get those sweet TPS heads since I can't purchase the season pass for Tales now?
Borderlands 1
Pre-Sequel (gameplay)
Borderlands 2
Tales from the Borderlands Ch. 1-3
Pre-Sequel (story frame)
Tales from the Borderlands Ch. 4-5
If you're a stickler about the timeline, skip Pre-Sequel until after you finish what's been released in Tales, but it's not really necessary to do so at this point. That may change later on though.

Those percentages are a LOT lower than I thought they would be, especially for keeping the flower and for throwing August under the bus.
