2 Fast 2 [Movies] Thread: Time For Sequels

I submitted an entry to Lego Ideas, and if 10,000 people support me, it'll be turned into an actual Lego set!If you'd like to see and support my submission, follow this link.
Moving away from sequels, I rewatched True Romance last night because I got it for Christmas. Pretty much the ultimate Kevin Bacon Game movie, because it contains fucking everyone. Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken, Dennis Hopper, James Gandolfini, Brad Pitt, Chris Penn, Tom Sizemore, Sam Jackson, Gary Oldman, Val Kilmer, probably some more I'm forgetting.
It's a little bit shallow and unfocused, but it's fun watching Tarantino cutting his teeth on dialogue. Super charming movie.

I know it's hopelessly old school and lacking in explosions, but for my money The Neverending Story II: The Next Chapter is the greatest sequel ever made.
For qualities of "great" which seem to be at work here, such as soullessness.
btw, 2 Fast 2 Furious is actually one of the weaker entries in the F&F franchise
Tokyo Drift is the worst movie
The fourth, fifth, and sixth movies are pure joy though.
i know right, but i kinda have this thing for 2 fast 2 furious. i like it waaay more than the first movie but then i like tokyo drift way more than the 4th movie. i just enjoyed the bromance between walker and gibson more than walker and diesel.
It's pretty interesting and there's definitely something nice about his painted posters in comparison to ones that just use photographs, or are photoshopped.
Whedon and Goddard have both said that there's lots of story they feel has been left untold about the world they created for CitW. Both have also expressed a desire to work together again, and that making another movie would be enjoyable.
There is always more to the story. What about the Buckner family's origin (and why give preference to them over any other nightmare in CitW)? What and how is it the nightmares are captured? How deep is the management of these sacrifices buried in government?
Just because people choose to put on blinders and not use critical-thinking to accept that there is potential doesn't mean none exists. That's like closing your eyes and saying things don't exist because you can't see them.
I do agree that Whedon and/or Goddard are necessary to continue with any prequels or sequels for CitW. They made the world, and they put together the whole movie before pitching it, so there's much more to the world that just got absorbed into their vision that we don't see but they know.
None of those questions you're asking are particularly interesting, and the Buckner family's origin and why they were chosen is explained in the movie.
You'd think the Star Wars prequels would've taught people a lesson about wanting to know every single detail about a fictional universe.
The theory for a trilogy about the Clone Wars, and showing Vader's origins, is sound.

Blade 2 was a terrific action movie, an improvement over an ambitious but not completely realized first installment. I choose to believe that Blade 3 never existed.

Blade 3 was pretty ok. It was funny and had Dominic Purcell. It's a shame the other vampires sucked so bad.

While I was at Blockbuster Video last week, picking over the remains, I spied The Dark Crystal. That movie terrified me as a kid; I think I got it on VHS one birthday and my 5 year old brain hated everything about it. The bad guys were hideous, the good guys looked weird, I cried when that seal-grasshopper creature was fighting that beetle-crab monster and they both fell off the cliff. I hated this movie so much, I tried to hide it in the back of the closet in my room so I wouldn't have to look at it. BUT NO MORE! Now I know who Jim Henson and Frank Oz were. Now I can appreciate what a rare treasure a fantasy movie not filled with CGI is. I bought The Dark Crystal for $1 with the intention of conquering something I could hardly stomach as a little kid.
The Last Stand was a perfectly fine action movie. The director though.
It seems like this is a bit of an homage to Hollywood and westerns with a modern twist. There's nothing really to say about it other than it does everything right.
Did it blow my mind? No. But that's not a bad thing.
I'm really curious to see where this director goes.
I like the Blade films well enough but that was never a comic that Hollywood was really prepared to do justice to.
They did make it relevant for modern audiences and for two movies they succeeded. Marvel's also been getting very faithful with their adaptions so I'm intrigued how they'd make a Blade movie/tv series.

I was hella disappointed in Last Stand. For a guy who made shooting and chases so cool in The Good The Bad The Weird, Last Stand felt very generic (and the blatant CGI screen last fight)
It wasn't as bad as John Woo's Hard Target was in terms of asia-to-america debuts, but modern Korean cinema has been so refined by basically getting the best of what we made that there should have been something more original to produce.

The Last Stand features Arnold tackling a goon off of a roof and shooting him in the head while they're midair. Merely throwing a guy off of a roof is pussy.
I hear the surprise reveal at the end of Furious 6 has
a bromance with Walker in Fast 7.
Sorta sounds like something that should be spoilered, duder.

That's Hollywood for you. I can't recall a talented Asian director that's crossed over successfully.

Ugh. God no. Blade 2 was an ok dumb action movie but missed out on everything I liked about the first Blade.
Although, yes, Blade 1 is seriously flawed in several aspects. It's got a great tone and atmosphere though and Snipes is perfect for the part.

I love League of Legends, but seriously...screw you, Teemo.
-Indiana Solo, runner of blades
Is Transformers 2 the greatest sequel ever made?
Or is it Mortal Kombat 2?
Or Son of the Mask?
Yelling at butts will never NOT be funny. Thanks, Psy!

I think speed 2 : this time on boats is the biggest step down from the first to the sequel I've ever personally seen.
It's a little bit shallow and unfocused, but it's fun watching Tarantino cutting his teeth on dialogue. Super charming movie.
But you're listing a bad movie...we're listing great movies. :P
Edit: Sorry. I misspoke. It's just because of Keanu Reeves. Just make another Bill & Ted movie already.

Together, we can make this thread into the mediocre vastly superior sequel that the previous thread deserved.

5 and 6 are godly, i agree on that.
He is the artist who painted a lot of movie posters, such as Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Back to the Future etc.

Park Chan-wook with Stoker did it absurdly well.

Love that crazy movie.
hmmmhhhmmmhhhmmmmm
It's strange, but enticing, how well the vibrant colors and decadence reflect such a sad story.
Poor Leonardo DiCaprio.
