I mean, if I was somehow able to determine that I was 100% seeing a real actual spirit entity, I'd probably be pretty spooked no matter where

    Hmm.

I mean, sure, that's a pretty spooky place.

But I still think abandoned hospital has it beat.

Scariest place is usually an early-20th century mental institution left largely boarded up to rot. The kind they had in the northeast U.S. or western Europe where the architecture didn't favor many windows and everything feels claustrophobic.

Plus, a playground is probably just ghost kids.

Abandoned mental hospitals have the worst ghosts.

I imagine the scariest place to encounter a ghost would be while scuba diving alone.

Basically, what are you going to do? It's that sensation of being attacked in your dreams when you're all wrapped up in the covers and can't move.

Plus it's probably the pissed-off ghost of a drowned pirate.

    Or a ghost-shark.

I'm a big believer in the practical side of things; when people talk about their 'sixth sense' ... well, I usually just think of all the times when 'sixth sense' meant 'all of your five senses acting in accord to make your subconscious aware of an irregularity.'

Touch - your skin senses the change in air pressure between rooms, between floors or when another person is close to you

Sight - in conjunction with memory, sight is quite powerful in it's ability to alert your reflexes to something that's been moved in your home, in your car or whether you were just too shitfaced when you made those eggs and why are there eggshells all over the balcony???

Taste - bitter or acrid flavors hit my tastebuds before they hit my nose (highly irregular) and make me feel a *foulness* ... then I snap-to and realize that I live on the Gulf Coast (of Mexico) and swampland gasses are all around me, a literal miasma of toxins assault my brain on a minute-to-minute basis

Smell - again, swampland ... decaying vegetable matter has a unique scent, especially when it's augmented by the Houston Ship Channel and all of it's accompanying petro-chemical-piquant-pungence

Sound - possibly the most spooky sense in that sound distortion takes place within your eardrums when absolute silence occurs, your heartbeat can overwhelm you, especially when sleep deprivation in the wee hours before morning makes you hyper-aware of everything around you that's about as sinister as the squirrels in your attic engaging in Mortal Kombat with the bats that have taken up roost ... a point of note, bats eat mosquitoes, squirrels eat all your insulation ... food for thought

The world is like a ride at an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it, you think it's real because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round; it has thrills and chills and it's very brightly colored and it's very loud and it's fun... for a while.

    ....

But it doesn't matter because: It's just a ride. And we can change it anytime we want.
