Get it.

Deus Ex is starting to lose me. I was under the impression you could go through the game guns blazing but it really seems to discourage that. If they wanted it to be a stealth game they should have gone all-in with it and built it that way. Instead it's telling me I have a choice, then forcing me to choose stealth. It doesn't help that I'm not particularly good at sneaking in this game, either. To add to that, I really liked the idea of unlocking augs, but most of them are pretty superficial and/or mostly useless. I was hoping I could build this guy into a walking ball of death, but it doesn't look like that's in the cards.
Another thing that bugs me is how dull the game looks. It's all black, grey, brown, and yellow. Any other colors that show up are hugely subdued.

Yeah the game makes no qualms about punishing you for using cool powers and trying to play even remotely how you want.
I have a podcast now. It's about video games and anime!Find it here.
Never mind the haters, I did it "guns blazing." But I had to use cover so much it felt more like Gears of War than Deus Ex.

Also on World [Castle] in 3D World. I'm not going to like this world at all... I FINALLY got all the stars in the one where you basically run the entire time, but missed the stamp. My wife and I have collected everything up to this part so we're going to keep going on and on until we get it then we'll move on.

Is that the one with the speed pads? Hated that damn level, and not looking forward to having to do it again for the star I missed.

I think stealth is just naturally going to be easier in almost any game - you don't get hit, you can take the guys out one by one. People feel drawn toward playing the game with the path of least resistance, and stealth is just going to be that path. I felt the same way about Alpha Protocol.

You actually can augment your character to do guns blazing but especially in the beginning when you are weak it's more difficult. Just think of your character as a mage in D&D. Sure a high level mage is basically a god, but a low level one is just a weeny.

I found that the defensive options aren't good enough for true "guns blazing". Even with all the armour enhancements, being out in the open can still lead to a quick death. Most situations still benefit from being as quiet as possible until you can:
- sneak past the bad guys
- find an alternate path through
- find a terminal to hack for an advantage
- knock out guards (viable for 1-2 enemies)
- murder them (viable for 1-4 enemies)
- or some combination of the above
Just waltzing into an enemy compound and relying in my l33t shooter skills seemed completely non-viable.
I liked hacking turrets and then carrying them like a minigun.

the only problem i've had with lego marvel is that it's hard locked twice and i've run into cut scenes not going because i wasn't in the right place or something.
it is incredibly fun but what i'm saying is i've run into more bugs with this game than any other lego game
I haven't played a Lego game since the first Star Wars. Is there anything different about the gameplay in the new ones?

Give me the consensus re: Lego City vs. Lego Marvel.
If you had to choose, Lego City.
It has a great and witty story, fantastic original characters, a lively city full of secrets and things to do, You get to drive around tyrannosaurus bones, and an end game that is more epic than any Lego game has any right to be.

I get the idea that Frank's last name isn't really Honey, he was just called "Frank, honey" by his mother all throughout his childhood and started introducing himself that way.
I'm sure the fanboys will be sticking this feather in their cap as a "See, Nintendo can't keep any sort of Third Party exclusivity!" arguments for months to come.

As it is, I'm having a hard time with people on the various gaming websites right now. Nintendo is doing poorly right now, but the amount of vitriol and 'Nintendo should go third party' and 'Nintendo should just die' is really bugging me something fierce. I have nothing against fair conversation about their situation, but so many people just want to kill a company that I still love.
Ugh...this hobby of mine is just no fun sometimes.
Supposedly, MH Frontier is not good Monster Hunter. It's not developed by the MH team, and it's a very grindy MMO, unlike the normal series.
Yeah, no one wants grinding in their MH.

I should have elaborated. It apparently has a pretty egregious pay-to-win structure. You either get steamrolled, or you buy some stuff and it's a cakewalk.
I'm not exactly sure how it works, but if it's enough to make MH fans complain about how repetitive and grindy it is, it must be bad.

The Industry Thread's Nintendo Doom Discussion Counter is funny and sad in pretty equal measure.
Ah well. So long as I don't hear about the cancellation of SMTxFE, I don't really care.
I really love how in Lego Marvel I can swing around as Venom and then switch on the fly oh hey I'm Thor now and I'm gonna zoom up to the SHIELD Helicarrier really fast and completely seamlessly
I don't think I could go back to a Lego game that confined you to walking and driving around the hub
So if anything, getting Lego City first might be the right way to do it, because once you go flight you never go back

Twenty is the typical MSRP they drop to at last, they don't go lower unless you're buying used
Also it's the best Lego game so

I'd personally say second best behind Lego City, though the load times and lack of multiplayer could make it slightly worse.
Though being able to play as Marvel characters in an open world Lego New York is pretty damn awesome.

Lego City is still better, but yea, Lego Marvel is pretty awesome, and is just under City as the best Lego game.
The only complaint I have is how lifeless the main hub city is compared to Lego City's. The character selection is second to none though.
