Well, as I alluded to earlier, their previous problem was certain writers who really loved their magical girlfriends. Can only go up from there, really.

And for you newer players, if you think we're being facetious, go look up the Ionia vs Noxus match riot ran like back in 2010 with Phreak and Nashahago and somebody else commenting.
Wait
Was Nashahago actually a Rioter or something? Because that really ramps up the weirdness of some of the old Journal of Justice
Yes, he was. However, I'm also pretty sure Nidalee was actually named for someone they know which minorly cuts down the weirdness...but only somewhat.
How could any man resist those sexy, sexy Doritos feet?

The problem with doing well early as ranged AD is that you're still the team's bitch. You just have to get your team to focus more on keeping you alive so you can dead everything than on them just diving in and letting their team do the same.

I'm not the best ADC ever but I find the strategy of 'pick a strong early pushing ADC, shove to turret and take it early, then transition mid and cause the enemy jungler's brain to blow a fuse' to work up until gold at least.
Man, it's been weird to watch Fnatic go from being the uncontested Lords of Europe to being in third after losing to Millenium. Rekkles stopped playing Jinx and it was downhill from there.

Yasuo is just a giant bucket of bullshit mechanics. I don't see how he can ever be balanced, because much like thresh, it's his underlying mechanics that are broken.
I'm beginning to think that it's less that their mechanics are inherently broken (although they're absolutely strong), and more that their kits are completely overloaded - especially with passives.
There's no reason for Thresh to get free armour and AP and have his hook's cooldown get reduced when you hit an enemy and have his auto-attacks scale with both number of souls and 200% AD while still having four strong active skills, just like there's no reason for Yasuo to be resourceless and have double crit chance and have a free shield and generate bonus shield when he uses a zero-cooldown ability and have two of his abilities get stronger on successive casts and get 50% bonus armour penetration after he ults.
After playing against him, my only beef with Yasuo is his shield. He has enough mobility and other stuff that he shouldn't need the shield (or it should be nerfed hard) if he's played correctly.
yasuo has very hard laning phases against a lot of champions, and if the jungler comes at the right time he has no escape
the shield is the only thing that lets him not get pushed out lane
I'd like to see a change in mechanics for him somewhere, but I don't think nerfing his laning phase is the way to go, he's already one of the champions that requires the most practice to not have a painful game. Certain junglers just shut him down if they focus on mid, teams that know to treat yasuo like the steamroller he can become can make his life hell (and if they have a warwick or vi on the enemy team you better hope your carry won their lane or you will be deleted every teamfight before you do a single point of damage)
This describes Fiora entirely, except she doesn't have all those other mechanics propping her up. She still gets a great endgame though! Now she's not pick or ban, but I don't think that a hypercarry should have the kind of mechanics that make them pick or ban.
Does anyone else think Battlecast Vel'koz looks like the Squidies from the matrix?
100% a design influence. Of course.
Got a new VOD starring Elementz as my support Soraka and TheOddOrange as his legendary jungle Lee Singah. They were duo queue so Orange happened to pay a lot of attention to our lane. I play a green rat.

its like if mark merrill came on and was all "I'm doin' ashe you guys", which while technically accurate sounds horribly creepy if you don't get the context that ashe(ly) is his wife in real life

To be fair, he *also* had a Journal of Justice blurb at one point that was him taking Nidalee out on a picnic.

Because the solution to dull bot lane match ups from sustain characters is clearly to spam cheap and easy sustain for everyone until going all in is the only effective thing to do.
So is support Yorick a thing? Because I got stuck playing as him in ranked due to a mix up in champ select where I thought I was going top as opposed to a Kha'zix but thats a whole other story.
Anyways it was me as Yorick and an Ezreal vs a Varus and Leona. All I did was W+E Varus every time Ez came in to trade and port out.
Still ended up losing, but at least my lane held until the team fight stage and even took the frst tower.
It means you can't retreat from the minion line and get passive healing. There, is that better? It sets the minion line as the place to be active at, and makes your sustain require being near a set contested area.
That contested area being directly under your turret. Where you're safe unless you're getting dumped on in lane. Doubly so because your support probably has CC and tankiness out the ass in the current meta.
Guys remember, managing your mana pool isn't doing shit. Passively recieveing HP for being in lane and last hitting once a wave is being super active an exciting. Because reasons.
That there's no variety in bot lane, in part due to the fact that sustain is nerfed to the ground and uneccesary due to the sheer amount of HP you can get off of cheap items for both support and ADC.
Also the idea that 'using abilities actively' is a terrible thing for sustain but 'sitting on your ass under tower afk' is perfectly acceptable is dumb. Like really dumb.

More like the current meta supports have ridiculous amounts of utility and crowd control and basically every ADC except Jinx, Lucian, and Caitlyn can't do a single thing but passively farm under turret without instantly dying. Sustain supports like soraka are fucking stupid in design because there is basically no strategy involved in using them outside of spamming half of your stupid abilities on cooldown and I truly hate them because of this but really I don't think alternative ADCs will ever come back into vogue until they can suffer not bringing waveclear or mobility to the table.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that right now the old rock paper scissors of sustain beats poke beats all in beats sustain feels kinda fucked.
Sustain is nerfed from ages ago when we were playing almost a different game entirely and hasn't really being adjusted since.
Poke is all well and good until the enemy carry comes into lane with life steal and the enemy support comes in with either targons, HP/5 on coin and a bunch of HP from sightstone.
I'm absolutely down for making bot lane aggressive but right now it feels way too far in the balance of one specific playstyle.
That change to the Frostfang line looks... kind of weird. Removing AP entirely from two out of three of the items in the AP support item line kind of fucks over any support who has AP scaling for something other than damage.
I like the change to the Tribute passive on it, though.
Glad they increased the charges on it, it will be much easier to actually get the max gold out of it now. It's still going to pale in comparison to the coin...but just maybe that flat 10 damage on everything will be enough to make it worth buying, especially with the sustain on the other two nerfed. CDR was required to be competitive as well, but it's still hard to see either of the other gold items beating Talisman at their final upgrade.
At any rate it will be time to give Zyra support another try, might be viable again since the frostfang damage will essentially revert her base damage nerfs.

Looks like they're slapping Fiendish Codex into the final recipe, so you come out with only 10 less AP. I think that flat 15 damage is much more valuable than 20 AP for almost any caster support. Especially since there's no AOE penalty -- boom, Starcall.

I need to transition out of the early game better
i'm darn good early game. just once mid game and end game starts I have no clue how to adapt to a team that doesn't do the right things.
where the heck is the tutorial for that?

I could see it working just due to the sheer poke you can put out and having the late game of doubling your carry.

Don't worry, he'll break free, do "TONS OF DAMAGE" to his captors, and unleash a fresh round of nerfs by the time 4.4 comes out.
