If someone uses Felhide Spiritbinder's ability on a changeling, say... Mutavault. Can I use Deicide to Extirpate it?
I was just wondering if there was a way to fudge Deicide to rip out someone's Mutavaults.
Based on the way the card is worded, I'm going to guess that it wouldn't work. Partially because the Spiritbinder creates tokens, but even if you had an Enchanted Evening or something out, I don't think it would work. Deicide says "if the exiled card is a God card", meaning it doesn't check until after the enchantment has been exiled whether it should start digging for copies - something is only a "card" if it's in your hand, graveyard, exile, library, etc. not on the battlefield. If you use it on a Spiritbinder token, it disappears like any token that leaves the battlefield, so theres no card to check. If you use it on a Mutavault that's somehow also an enchantment, once the Mutavault is exiled, it's no longer a God card - it loses all its creature types because it's no longer an animated land, it's just a land card.
tl;dr: I think Deicide needs "God" to be written on the actual card to kill all the other copies.

Yeah, though that requires someone to play Felhide Spiritbinder with nothing better to token up than a lowly Mutavault.
It also means they need a way to untap Spiritbinder at a time other than their untap step since the target for its ability is chosen before you get a chance to turn Mutavault into a creature on your upkeep.
Edit: And I think KalTorak is right about the fact that it has to target an actual card and not a token because of how it's worded.
KalTorakOne way or another, they all end up inthe Undercity.Registered Userregular
It might work on an actual Changeling (e.g. Mirror Entity) with Enchanted Evening on the battlefield, since Changeling means that they have all creature types at all times, including when they're exiled.
The Maggot pisses me off. Thoughtseize is in the same damn block. MonoB needs another?
A big part of Thoughtseize's power comes from its 1 mana casting cost. Also it's very much a cast-and-forget solution to problems that black couldn't otherwise handle. Compare that to a 2-mana 1/1 that at most gives your opponent a tempo hit until they can be bothered to swat your slug.

Yeah these are both valid issues, I'm just too tired to catch magic wording technicalities at the moment.
It's a bigger deal for the deck you're running because it's all walls, but eventually board pressure is going to catch up to that maggot most days and you'll be okay.
brain maggot is probably gonna be a sb card for black aggro
monob devo probably wants to play more concrete answers and not a short lived 1/1. for aggro thats fine because they just need a window to blow you up
Why wouldn't it? That's removal that isn't targeting D-Demon, Pack Rat. Hell, Esper might have to Verdict earlier than it wants, or use a DSphere that then won't hit your Connections.
Against burn? Now yeah, card should be sided out because it just turns on Searing Blood.

monoB devo does not close out games fast enough to get in under the lifespan of maggot and would rather play extra duress effects
like it will do a thing and be removed before the game has even really got underway for that deck, not long term enough
but for aggro "hahaha you cant verdict this turn" is all they need to bop you free
I just dislike Thoughtseize in general. So seeing another such effect is just ... makes me sad.
I get the awesome Oblivion Ring. That makes sense since D-Sphere will be leaving soon enough that having a replacement ready makes sense and it's flavor fits the block.
I just don't get the need for the card now (the maggot).

also yay spiders
hahaha holy shit for 2 mana? god damn
Gonna need more countermagic.

It's unclear what happens when it dies. Card returns to your hand? The battlefield? Graveyard?
I assume it works exactly like tidehollow sculler but it is oddly worded/worded in such a way that assumes that
It's fuckin' bangin'.
That stupid spider makes me so happy.

It's worded that way to avoid the perma-exile that previous versions of that ability allowed.
like almost new phyrexia tier
The maggot is a super easy to remove 1/1, and you get your card back.

Yeah but you'll almost certainly get your maggot card back

You still have to spend removal. On a 1/1.
If Thoughtseize was gonna rotate out come Huey, I'd be ok. But having both in standard for the long haul? Yuck.

I don't mind magma jet-ing the thing.

The issue here is that you're thinking REMOVAL.
It's a 1/1.
Your deck should be able to answer a 1/1 without dedicating a card that could also remove a 6/6.
