    I love you @KalTorak

SCG usually does have its stuff up quick.

Meanwhile Wizards takes forever with its PTs and doesn't even put up most of the GPs that do have Coverage.

It's kinda weird. You think Wizards would be all over that! It's money! Sure the YouTube ad money probably isn't great, but it wouldn't take much effort to put all the coverage up! It's basically free money!

You have the time to put up those ridiculous Walking The Planes videos (I'm not the biggest fan of them, though the 'Intervention' one with the coverage teams did make me laugh). How about ACTUAL Magic???

ACTUAL Magic that's already been filmed and commentated!!!

You just need some intern to slash it into Match sized chunks.

Why is SCG kicking your butt at this? We all know you love money. And this is free money!

For a lot of GPs that they stream, they contract out the streaming work so it might be a bit tricky on that end.

Man I had a really neat constellation deck drafted this week (2 grim guardian, 1 underworld coinsmith, etc) but it just decided to never show up.

The good news is I got bearer of the heavens'd turn 4 in draft! Which was actually just kind of funny to watch.

Me and two friends did a team sealed today. We won. The prize was a box and each of us took our third and started rummaging through them. My friend starts to open a pack and looks at the first card.

'Oh hey, Iroas". For a moment I think about how weird that is and then time freezes as everybody around us realizes what just happened. There is much cheering and he got his picture taken and we all congratulated him.

    I'm not even bitter.

    Nope.

    Not even.

    The bastard.

Further adventures in that Blast of Genius/Riddle of Lightning deck idea

Two different lists, one that's more counterburn and one (saito's revised list) that uses a mana creature base to have actual ramp into those fatboy spells if it comes to it

Ain't no joke if you can slam that down on curve in any kind of heroic/weenie shell.

It is even better that on turn five you are going to play your land and swing in, they will block and you will play dictate.

I finished opening the box I got of Nyx, and it was... interesting. I suspect that it got screwed up by a god pack going in nearby in the line, because I got a lot of duplicate rares. Two Keranos, two Twinflame, two Master of the Feast, two Battlefield Thaumaturge, two Skybind, and two Temple of Epiphany.

I probably did okay in terms of value thanks to a Mana Confluence. Not spectacular, but whatevs.

    4x Boros Elite
    4x Brimaz, King of Oreskos
    4x Fencing Ace
    4x Hopeful Eidolon
    3x Imposing Sovereign
    4x Precinct Captain

    3x Dictate of Heliod
    3x Path of Bravery
    3x Hall of Triumph
    2x Spear of Heliod
    2x Revoke Existence
    3x Smite

    3x Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx
    18x Plains

May put this together since I can build it for like a $50 outlay.

    Man, you've cracked/traded for at least 3 Brimaz's?

I've only got the one, and am considering trading it because any deck I want him in I want 4x.

Also: Fuckin' do it. You can take that shit into any room and put on a clinic. Most people aren't boarding against that type of deck. Just hold a few cards against control.

aggro decks shouldnt be planning for there to even be an endgame

also I think that list is pretty creature light especially for white weenie style

I'm just gonna say, not planning for a late game is pretty terrible deck construction. Some games are going to run long for any number of reasons. You need to be prepared for that eventuality.

as a minor anthem note, I think I'd rather have 3x spear and 2x hall of triumph rather than vice versa

maybe even 2x of each? but not more hall than spear

also where's your requisite brave the elements to prot yer boys

no, you should be trying to close a game out before that game has run its course in the case of the deck above. that is how aggro decks work by nature, not "terrible deck construction". not every deck intends to play a long game. trying to make a deck like that work at all stages of a match means you probably arent doing any one thing particularly well

most good white weenie decks end their curve at like 3 mana this format, for example. nowhere do I see them trying to shoehorn in archangel of thunes for "dat endgame playz". someone should have already lost by then because that is what the deck is designed to do

also I think 2 hall 2 spear is good just because they're legendary and you never wanna see a duplicate. I would just cut the dictates and a hall for x4 brave and possibly find room for more guys

tl;dr a deck intending to bring you from 20-0 as fast as possible is designed specifically so there is not an endgame, and such a phase of a match occuring has been how you beat them for the past eternity, as was written in the dead sea scrolls

The idea is that it's a bit more like monored devotion, it's 3 slots and it's a good idea to have a sudden trump. It's a fanatic of mogis. Also yes brave the elements please, probably replacing smite and revoke existence.

its a sudden trump if you're already winning. it is very different from monoR devo slamming out a dragon out of nowhere. fanatic is also, at absolute worst, a 4 power 1 mana cheaper dude on an empty board that will probably have haste and have bolted them due to hammer. dictate is very bad on an empty board

my issue with subpar "lategame" strats is the decks who are designed for lategame will do it better than you anyways

i think dictate of heliod belongs in some kind of midrange shell but white probably isnt there right now. There's a huge difference between slamming down a Fanatic of Mogis and slamming down your Dictate of Heliod, because 9 times out of then the fanatic is generating some other kind of card advantage via punching a dude in the face or killing a planeswalker. He doesn't need other permanents on board to make it worthwhile (it just makes it a bigger threat for 2 seconds) while the dictate absolutely needs creatures

you're gonna get blown out casting dictate of heliod in response to an obzedat, is what im saying

I could see it in a version of Esper humans or a BW midrange humans deck but Ghost dad and Daywalker are just better game enders.

Uh, Fanatic of Mogis does need other permanents on the board to make it worthwhile, unless you're saying a ping of damage to the face is a bevy of card advantage.

White weenie can't compete when two thirds of the viable competitive decks are dropping 5/5s or bigger on the regular (or at least, stuff with 4 toughness that can still take down the weenies)

I somehow missed that Hall was legendary, so I'll cut one. My thinking was "multiples of hall is WAY better than multiples of Spear, since multiples of spear are blanks" but since they're both legendary that doesn't apply.
