Yeah, BioWare quickly clarified this after they said it/what they said was taken out of context. I think we can expect really large zones, with a bunch of stuff to do (probably the size of several areas in DA:O), maybe even being able to freely move between a few to do things in an order we want to do them in, but it's not full blown sandbox/open world.
I haven't been following the game that closely because I wanna go into it mostly unspoiled, but I've been wondering about the save import feature. I know that they've talked about this Dragon Age Keep thing, but I can't find a whole lot of info about it. Is it all web-based and you just answer a couple of question regarding your choices or whatever? Or can you also directly upload your Origins or 2 save file and it'll detect your choices?
The Keep isn't a couple of questions. Its more like 50 or 60 questions for each game. For all intents and purposes, Dragon Age Keep is a save game creator that will allow you to create the state of the world and manually set all flags that were available in Dragon Age 1 and 2 so that you are setup right for Inquisition. The only difference between importing your game and using the Keep should be that the flags that are broken in Dragon Age 1&2 are not broken when you use the Keep.
For example of a broken flag, at the end of Origins in my first playthrough, I...
force Alister and Anora to marry, and then had Alister sacrifice himself to kill the Archedemon. This resulted in both the Alistair is dead flag and the Alistair is King flag being set to ON in my game, and gave me a Zombie King Alistair who spent most of his time drinking with his people.
I really hope they let you import your save, as there's 0 good reason why they shouldn't. Have us review the choices, flag the broken flags if they want, and viola. I really don't want to take a test to create a save when I have mine right here. But lead platform is probably a console, so we get waffling on what should be a basic feature for this system. The game itself sounds neat, stupid Keep better live up to it.

This.
The quest wikis may come in quite handy if you're like me and haven't played DA:O in quite awhile...or so I've heard

Eh, I remember most of my choices, so it won't bug me too much. I would like it more to be able to upload what my Warden and Hawke look like. It would also be cool for an import system to let you jump ship from one style to another: say from old console to new console, console to pc, or pc to console depending on preference.
The flags breaking when importing I give a pass to, going to get bugs somewhere (yay realities of the current state of development). As long as the current game flags don't break in the game they belong to. The keep fixing their mistakes is fine if they did botch something somewhere, though. They should be fixed in the games themselves, but see that reality thing again. Doubt EA would pay for it if they haven't by now and 2 of course was visibly rushed.

Here's what Bioware officially said on their blog about Dragon Age Keep in regards to the broken flags:
An additional benefit offered by moving to the cloud is being able to fix issues in plot logic, which historically we have not been able to do because of client side complexity or platform holder limits. Under the hood, the Keep has a logic validator which ensures you’ll always have a valid world state free from errors and conflicts.
Choices in our games are immense, and on occasion subtly perceived. In some cases, the consequences of decisions you’ve made in a past game won’t reveal themselves until some future story. Handling all these permutations is complex. Really complex. Tracking all possible prerequisites and potential knock-ons, even just to create the simple acknowledgement of a choice is very detailed — and prone to error.
As an example, an import from DAO to DA2 brought across something in the order of 600 different data points, most requiring complex logic solving to answer correctly the question of “how did the player settle this choice at the end of the game.” As a result, some current save imports are buggy, which is our fault, and something we’re committed to fixing. Permanently. The Keep allows us to do just that. Users of the Keep won’t have to suffer with these types of logic inconsistencies any longer.
Basically, when they created Dragon Age Origins, they ended up making the system too complex to easily fix, and this is their way around it.
That blog post totally reads like they'll be using YOUR saves, which isn't the case as far as we know.
Which is fine, except they're not really fixing anything if they don't use your save, they're having you redo your choices aka working around the errors still present. Which again, is fine. But if they wanted to FIX it, the first thing they would need to do is import my save(s). So I'm all for fixing it! If not, well, thanks for the effort anyway guys! Being able to make new choices could be handy too.

I'm still dreaming of the day when I'd be able to import my DA1 save into Awakening but still play as the Orlesian Warden -- just have the rest of the game world reflect my choices in the first game.

That day is here.
Your Warden just has to die in DA:O.
Doesn't that just revive the warden and no one says anything?

Yep -- that's the problem.
If your Warden dies in DA:O and you import the save, he's mysteriously less dead during Awakening.

So we're thinking Knight Enchanter might be a new take on Arcane Warrior, right?
Man, going to be a hard choice between that and Necromancer at launch then. On one hand, I want to piss off as many NPCs as possible which an occupation like necromancy would help with, on the other there might be an opportunity to get some dagger rogue action going on aswell if I go Enchanter.
Also if you're a qunari, thats going to look pretty badass. Wielding magic and big ass weapons in equal doses.

So... BioWare is doing a Q&A thing on Raptr about DAI. Too bad the community section of that site is completely incomprehensible.
I'm assuming it's gonna be Cassandra, Unknown Adviser, Dorian, and Iron Bull for dudes and Sera, Unknown Adviser, Cullen, and Iron Bull for ladies.
I think you are mostly gonna be right. But I wouldn't be surprised if Vivienne ends up being bi instead of Iron Bull. Could see it go either way*. I think Vivienne will be romance-able , one way or another though, based on the "we have a ton of romances" comment.
If Blackwall ends up being a romance option, I'll be really surprised. It wouldn't surprise me if Varric is a limited romance option (i.e. dwarf female only or some such).
e:this isn't to say both can't be bi. But I'd guess only one is.
side question: who is "Unknown Adviser"? The girl next to Sera and Blackwall on this page ?

Interesting tidbits from the Q&A:
"Qunari don't wear helmets. They have a different head slot."
"minimap style thing
You can put down custom plot markers
You can mark any quest as the active quest"
"There are a lot of lip options now.
We are working to get more hair options
No body type choices, sorry"
"The Inquisitor will regularly be referred to by his or her surname, yes."
"There are things very much like skills that act similar to the persuades from Origins, but they're acquired and work a different way. There's no levels, just different areas of knowledge."
"Will cross class combo make its return in DA:I?" "yes"
"How prominently, if at all, will Dagna be featured in the game?" "Not a follower.
She does appear"
"We are trying to get more hairstyles.
There are a weird number of bald people on our art team..."
"Flemeth will appear."
"No capes"
"There will be romance scenes, but not necessarily just focused on sex. In all cases, we will strive to keep all romantic moments both moisturized and supple, like a well-tended leather jacket, swaying gently on the back of a bar's patio chair in the twilight of the first warm day of the year."
Edit: More stuff added as I read more:
"The Knight Enchanters were designed to let mages get up close and personal and the abilities in that tree encourage you to do so, including the ability to be effective at melee ranges. They're different from Arcane Warriors, though. Less tanky."
"Will a human mage be family of the previous Dragon Age protagonists? Much like Hawk was the cousin of the hero of Feralden if the hero of Feralden was a human mage. " "Nope. Humans come from the Trevelyan family. Not related."
"The fate of the warden will be recorded in the keep and may just come up in some way in the game. Maybe. If you're good."
"The followers disappear when you mount to make it smooth and easy for finding paths, etc. They are back the moment you dismount."
"There's no restrictions in the game for those who buy old gen console versions. It won't look as good or feel as immersive but it's still the same story, same characters, same locations etc. "

Cullen really came a long way from the mumbling wreck in a corner we found in Origins.

Theres an NPC I never expected anybody to ask questions about.
I liked her though, it's pretty funny to see people nerd out over magic.
I actually had to look up who it was.
