Glad to see that it feels better to draw now! One thing I noticed is that there doesn't seem to be much line weight variation in your tracings, is that a stylistic choice? Asking just in case that your pen pressure is actually not working and it's not turned off by choice. If you are not comfortable with using pen pressure to vary the lines another method is to just change the brush size with shortcuts, it's gives more consistent results
I did a tracing of your original drawing, I hope it does not offend you, I just want to show you that your art already have more potential than you think. I did not add anything myself in this one, just interpreted your lines.
Yeah it's mostly that I don't have experience doing it yet so I was just using the basic brush on Krita on that last one. One of the issues I still have using pencils is that I use too much pressure so it's hard to tune a line width brush just right so it isn't just thick boys all day you know.

Shading's good. Protip (i'm not a pro): The smudge tool is good to harmonize the passage from light to shadow.

Thanks!
And I'll have to remember try it out.
I was kind just playing to see how the blending worked between layers on different modes and such.
A lead managed to get completely stuck in the sharpener portion, I assumed that happened when it broke and bounced around in my bag

Throwing this down because I liked the cut of his gib. Not sure if he’s supposed to be wearing extra long sleeves and a dress, so this is his cousin or something

I found a newer photo of the original sketch because I can't be bothered to dig for the actual book he's in at the moment.
But that explains his outfit a bit better I think. Kinda a tunic situation. And extra long torso.

Drew my fave OC, Newt the Homunculus (They/She)
They're an homunculus. An artificial being with sentience. Like all Homunculi, Newt was made with a flaw. Hers is that her right eyesocket keeps growing eyeballs. It's Kinda Gross!
They're from an idea I had for a Visual Novel called "All My Hexes Live in Texas". I will probably draw other characters from that later.
Witches are always fun to draw with their pointy hats and their magicks. This one's a garden witch.
I'd originally done a version a few weeks ago to try out a painting process (starting with just value and adding the colour on top afterwards) but I really didn't like how the picture turned out. First picture in spoiler:
I thought I could do something better with the rough design though so I had another ago and ended up with a picture I liked a lot more.
But I'm still really sapped of creativity juice. My brain when trying to imagine something to draw just comes up blank.
I should go to the museum this week if they are open. I wonder if I can take a small sketch pad in with me to doodle ideas if anything strikes me?
Ok, here's the first few randos my rando roller rolled.
COLD DWARF RICH SNOB FROM CHINA
FRIENDLY DEMON LUMBERJACK FROM THE WILD WEST
ANGRY HUMAN DRUNK FROM THE MIRROR WORLD WHERE EVERYTHING IS OPPOSITE
BOSSY SKELETON BODYGUARD FROM A MONASTERY IN THE MOUNTAINS
CONCEITED SKELETON SHEIK FROM THE FREE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF DICTATORIA
BLUNT GHOST DRUNK FROM THE FRIGID NORTHERN BARRENS
COURAGEOUS GIANT COWBOY FROM TOKYO
CYNICAL GHOST ARCHER FROM THE JAPANESE COUNTRYSIDE
What softness is your pencil? What helped me with getting the hang of pencil sketching was changing to a much softer one, like 6B or so and letting loose a bit. The increased contrast and softer feel while drawing really helped me.

I wonder if it's even readable to anyone who doesn't know who it is supposed to be...

Head of beautiful woman
Both the body and head are to scale
It yearns for death yet cannot die
Also I got that pencil you recommend and some cheap off brand leads for it. It's rad. Took me a minute to figure out the sharpener though.
I think it was ole Angel of Bacon over in the Artist Corner what reccomended it to me in the first place.
This is my life now
There's the crow demon in Dark Souls which is the complete opposite
I think it yearns for death too though

Fake alphabet for a thing.
Making fake alphabets is so fun...
Do you have it as a font? That makes it a lot easier to write in.

This can be good for that: http://www.pentacom.jp/pentacom/bitfontmaker2/
I made this with it.

I'm bad at skeletons though.
I have a random prompt book around here somewhere too...
The friendly demon lumberjack is tempting though actually. I'm thinking like a giant demonic Paul Bunyan.
Uhg
Without practice for a while hands are really hard.
Hopefully you see what I'm going for here
Need to get plaid on the shirt and some redwoods in the background haha.
Behold, Sally! I'm pretty happy with this design.
old design was a lot more conservative
Feedback is always nice.

Still working on this. quite happy overall but the body feels too long and there's something wrong with the legs i can't put my finger on perfectly.

I think it's mainly the proportions that are off.
Your character is about six heads high, which is fine if you want something stockier, but there needs to be certain consistencies.
In general I'd say everything from the pelvis down should be about half a head higher.
