@ChicoBlue Love the faux finish on that, as if time has worn the colour away in the creases.
Gonna smash out 150 monsters to fulfil a childhood need to make 150 monsters. At the minute I’m trying to figure out a style. I don’t want to replicate the clean anime style used by Pokémon and Digimon, I want something more homely. I’m thinking no black outline looks fresh. Possibly not more than 3 colours on average, maybe 2 when I can help it. I like chunky looking guys, without too many fiddly bits.
Speed doodles:
See how they’re all slightly off-style? I feel like I really need to make a style guide or this isn’t going to be worth the trouble.
+3
webguy20I spend too much time on the InternetRegistered Userregular
decided to dip my toes into the whole drawing thing after really getting into mini printing so got an sole pencil and made my first doodle in probably over two decades.
The whole ipad/pencil combo is a slick bit of kit.
I didn’t split this into separate images, but I did colour it.
Of course as soon as I post it I notice a bunch of things that should be fixed, but whatever. I mostly like it. I need to get more FF6 stuff out of my system before the new Zelda. I couldn’t really draw very well back when botw came out so I wonder if I’ll make Zelda fanart this time around.
I'd play a platformer/metroidvania/zelda clone with this as the main character
Unfortunately all I have is an ipad and nothing worth a damn works on this cursed object. One day I’ll get a proper computer again, and then you’ll see!
I should get back to trying to draw a little bit every day. I feel like a few years back I was really making progress and getting better but ever since some stuff happened in my life I kinda let it go and don't even know if I could draw anything anymore.
I wish there were good online tutors that weren't like big big bucks. It's not like I want a weekly class really just maybe once a month to go over what I've done and get pointers and guidance. I don't do good entirely self guided because of my attention span issues and mostly need someone to help keep me interested and accountable without overwhelming me either.

What do you wanna know? I think I got it. Example:
Right now I'm just trying to get used to my art program again
Here is a roughing in with shapes and colors thing I spent like an hour or so on from with reference from an old picture of a concert I attended years ago.
As you can see I need to remember how the layer blending works in krita a little better still because of the way I was doing it I ended up with probably too many layers to try to fiddle with which led to lots of messy spots.
In further studies in art done fast without skill: Pick the point to point lasso feature in whatever art program you’ve got, fill it in with a solid colour. Space ships.
These won’t be used in the game, but this is how I’ll do it for sure.
anyone have good recs for physical books for drawing technique and stuff that aren't like, too general or too complicated?
Now That I got a new pen display to draw on I wanna practice more often but I kinda want something to practice along with or has some decent reference in it or both?
The way I've got my computer set up with it and the way my brain works its really hard to follow along with videos though so having a phat stack of books I can toss open on a music stand or something I think might help

Drawings by me. In colour! Also by me.
This is a pretty good process for getting some quick line art.
Rough thing I did a bit ago. I wanna make myself a logo for a website, when I eventually get around to making one for myself in twenty years time.

Everyone wants to give this boi pins. Wherever he goes, folks offer Clive pretty pins to put on
My answer? Perspective blur some splotches ten times.
If I don't post it here directly I host it on imgur.

More doodles.
That’s awesome
Wistfully dancing in the moonlight.
