I have no idea how succesful they'll be sales wise, but I love that Marvel is getting me interested in characters I would have never cared about.

Even though I can't not be in the camp that goes, 'Frank Castle is by all rights a living fossil by now that shouldn't even be able to look fifty on a good day Vietnam etc etc etc' I...kinda like this version of the Punisher quite a bit.
Dry wit goes a long way, I suppose.

Nobody else in the MU is getitng any older; why Frank?

Because Vietnam happened during a set point in time. Everything else can be shifted without much problem, but to be a Marine officer then he'd have to keep getting older as time goes by because the marvel u is always in "the present."
Which is why Frank is no longer a Vietnam vet, but just generic former military. Ennis and Aaron pretty much told all the stories one could about Old Frank.

At some point, they'll shift his origin to the Iraq/Afghan wars. That's how it worked for Tony Stark - Korea to Vietnam to Gulf War. I imagine the Latin American dirty wars of the 80s would also work well for Frank.
I've been waiting forever (12 days, whatever) for my new credit card, so I'm waiting to get new comics. Which means lots of tumbler and twitter reading.

Frank got a bit of revitalising a few years back - during Civil War he was killed and cut to bits by Daken, Wolverine's son. His bits were found and put back together by some classic Marvel monsters living in the New York sewers. He spent a year or so as Frankencastle with a magic gem in his chest - he eventually healed, and got rid of the gem.
When it was over, it made it clear he'd basically dropped 20 years or so.
Before that, one Punisher comic started off with Frank getting worked on by a physical therapist, and he mentions that without the regular visits he'd barely be able to move with all the damage he's taken over the years.

my MOTW comes from Loki: Agent of Asgard #1
specifically, the letters column, in which Al Ewing lays out his vision for the character, and I am 100% down

Silly as it might sound, I never in a million years had assumed that after Frank's elaborate death and ramshackle resurrection, he would actually come come out of it all not only back in one piece, but actually in better shape. After FrankenCastle I sort of assumed everyone looked the other way and Standard Issue Frank Castle just popped back into reality as though Dark Reign never happened. Just sort of walked out of an alley in New York, found the van right where he left it, keys where he left em, back full of guns, because no one dared mess with it for like eight whole months.

Loki, Agent of Asgard #1, Loki has a very good reason to stab his brother in the back.
Gram is the Sword of Shannara?
Naw, the Sword of Shannara is Gram
There's a millennium or so of lead time on that one
this is the first thing i've read of hickman's that i didn't like
- the entire story could have been told in a single book.
the dude is a generally bad writer with a massive decompression problem
he makes Bendis look like Hemingway
Yeah it sounds like Hickman just did plot / framework with Costa doing most of the writing (and Hickman left the book pretty quick)
"Ride or Die" confirmed Dominic Toretto, as they took off to find the Dragon Balls in hopes of reviving their friend Sonic
