If they are it's after the Prologue which is WAY too late. I'm at 5 and a half hours and haven't seen any more. It's like the first tutorial quest you get!
INSANITY
They really only exist in the green space between the starting town and the forest. And only during the day. But they're common enough there that you shouldn't have had a problem finding them.
Ah, that was my problem. I knew it was only day but I was running all over in there.
I did the same thing. I'm not so far I think I can double back as I'm still in the Prologue.

You can do it any time really, as the game gives you warping between towns like the second you reach a second town (talk to a pig).
I also popped in my copy again for a bit and sent a new attack. I probably could've gone even higher, but 213,000 damage should be enough :P
Edit: Ah shit, I should've exploited an enemy's weakness with the sent attack..I'm not sure where exactly in the damage calculation equation that would've been applied, but I might have been able to double the damage that way.
I'm going to have to not use thief/ninja next time because this is just too easy. every boss goes down to mist physical boon, harpoon, bravex4. having all 5 ability slots open and getting these abilities so much earlier broke thief and super broke ninja.

I am like 95% sure in BDefault it re-calculated absorption and elemental/weapon/etc damage bonuses again for the attack.
Because I was sending a massive Dark Nebula attack that one of my friends made the mistake of using as it killed his party.

Good grief. How??
Buffs and debuffs, bro. If you look at my sent attack you can see all of the buffs Tiz had when I used the attack I believe. I was at over 200% physical attack (200% from a certain skill, then another smaller buff from a special attack from another party member) and 400% critical rate, the enemy I used it on was at 75% physical defense, I was using the right job + weapon combo to get the highest attack stat, being level 85..and obviously Bravely Second to break the damage cap.
Okay, this is absurd. I think that either my RNG seed is locked for this fight somehow, or these enemies are following a set script while Berserk.
Every single time I try this fight, it plays out in the exact same way, down to which targets are attacked, whether Stand Ground activates, and even which attacks score critical hits! It's absurd!
Edit:
Okay, I got through. I was able to get the not-so-RNG to cooperate by changing my classes and party order around. That was super weird.
Completed the fourth sidequest, and things are getting odd.
Ominas and Artemia were talking about stuff they shouldn't know about, if this is, in fact, the same world we started Bravely Default in.
Artemia referenced the "girl power" team Victoria put together in World 4, and Ominas seems to have made reference to the Jobmaster Gauntlet at the end of World 5. This is weird, and I sure do hope that it comes to something.

Also, they're all not dead.
That, too.
Heck, I can perhaps buy a "never found the body" thing for most of them (Unless they bring back Barbarossa or Qada. They were ghosts). And perhaps Braev made a miraculous recovery that allowed him to fight again by the prologue of this game. But Alternis? He fell into the damn Pillar! How can he be there?

hm. Suddenly I have ideas as to who the Kaiser may be. Interesting.

Getting the Black Mage job after this amount of time is a tad annoying, since the first handful of levels are basically dead levels, until I start getting skills above what Red Mage can cast. But I'll do it; Pierce Magic Defense and Group Cast All are no joke.
edit:
So, I visited the Fire Temple.
The party says that Agnes is the only vestal left, but I wonder why nobody is making note of Bella's title as the "dark vestal". Sure, she's dead now, but if there was any truth to her title, couldn't there be more in the Kaiser's army who qualify to commune with the crystals?
Also: "A fall from this height..." Yeah, he's dead for sure. It's not as though I have a missing bestiary entry on him implying a third fight.
edit:
Welp! My Kaiser identity theory was just made super obvious. Yay for guessing things about 30 minutes before the game shows it to me, I guess.
Marty: The future, it's where you're going? Doc: That's right, twenty five years into the future. I've always dreamed on seeing the future, looking beyond my years, seeing the progress of mankind. I'll also be able to see who wins the next twenty-five world series.
Well, side quest 5 was a bit odd. I wonder what would've happened if I'd made the other choice.
how useful is Ninja in the absence of Swordmaster? I imagine that Frenetic Fighting + Ikkikasei is still good, but the lack of Multitask is annoying. I suppose I could instead go full ham with triple or quad wielding, and avoid damage with dodging.
If nothing else, using Kairai with Spellcraft Wall is an intriguing source of potential shenanigans. .
I'd suggest Bravely Default first, to get the most out of the crit-path and side-paths in Bravely Second.
It's out of print, so good luck finding a physical copy for a reasonable price, though. I was sure they'd reprint it when Second came out, but noooo. Meanwhile, Japan got a demo that includes half the game, with an upgrade to the full thing available for $20. :x

Specifically , the damn Berserk room. Why yes, I would like to have to fight a pair of Valtoras without the ability to control my party.
Man
The next map (I think?) is the best farming spot.
I think I had three hawkeyes/* and a white mage/black mage at that point.
I also never tried to chain battles in that room, though.
Hmmm... I never found one. I think there was a class ability that gave you anti-berserk, but I never really tested it out in that room.
Edit: Nope, I was wrong.
Or retry the Valtoras fight until I get lucky enough that they don't focus down one of my strongest attackers on turn one.

Ding ding ding! We have a winner on this page!
Re: Title theory
I want to click awesome on his post so much but that would give it away arghghhhagrhghr
So this is the next best thing
It's almost worth it for Dual Wield alone, imo.
What's precision? I know Ranger had a passive (called Hawkeye) that doubled accuracy in the first game, but that's a Hawkeye ability now.
