Just switched from lightning to ice and what a difference. Ice is so much more powerful than lightning it's incredible, not to mention that frozen orb is back.
Hmmmm, need a new build for my barbarian - any suggestions? I'm thinking maybe ground stomp+rend+earthquake?
I've been using Leap: Call of Arreat to cluster enemies together before dropping Ground Stomp: Trembling Stomp for a ton of damage. It's a really fun combo.
I have Rend: Lacerate for enemies that take longer to kill, and was using various forms of Earthquake but it's a shame how often enemies will just run out of it. I think I'll try Chilling Earth to freeze them in place.
I've alternated between cleave and frenzy for generator, but don't have to use it much. My 9% whirlwind helm + Odyn Son (+20% lightning skill damage) allows Whirlwind: Wind Shear (enemies hit restore 1 fury) to provide probably ~350% weapon damage while being extremely light on fury use. I can use my spenders consistently without ever feeling starved for fury.
as a wizard. Basically all cold skills to see what that is like. Frozen Orb 2.0 is incredibly good. Blizzard is also nice. I could stand to replace ice spike, mirror image, and maybe frozen armor. What is everyone playing with?
We got into a stable place last night, and have about 25 slots free, with more pruning still to be done.
I am going to reflag us tonight as "looking for members" to make it a bit easier for people to join.
The officers and I however are not going to blindly approve all invites, myself or an officer will be whispering you to confirm your forum handle before approving the invite.
This means you might not get an invite immediately, but it should prevent a repeat of yesterday.
If you are reading this add me.

I had a level 52 Monk in Act 1 Hell difficulty before I took a break.
Coming back now - what's the equivalent difficulty?
I love that I can skip acts now. Hated act 2- desert levels AND sewer levels? Ug.
Consider doing Hard or even Normal at first. Any higher and you probably won't be able to handle it at first. The power level of items has jumped exponentially. Collect a couple of rares, and then you can probably bump it up to Master or even Torment.

Wait... are you telling me that Disintegrate is actually viable now at high difficulty? I need a serious answer on this.
Well with shields and the 60+ passives, it should be. It and other channeling spells (sleet storm build, arcane torrent, etc). I have about 170k unbuffed dps and 220k durability
I found a duplicate plan for Archon Spaulders of Dexterity and apparently those are worth a decent amount? I put it up on the auction house for the suggested price and it sold in under a minute and I got 1.2 million.
It's a bit of a shame that with the shutdown of the auction house items that are good, but you don't need will be more likely to just go to waste.

I wouldn't start any lower than Hard. The gear drops upgrade you fast so I'd be aggressive about moving to Expert or Master once you get some good stuff.

I played the PTR quite a bit, but got surprised last night with a couple of blacksmith plan drops. Born's Defiance (a set!) and Wall of Bone. Making all of these turned into upgrades for my level 20ish wizard. With patch 2.0, are these items still stuck at level 21, or will the plans scale to my level? Since legendary/set items can now drop at any level, it would seem weird if plan items were stuck at low levels. I've been playing HC, so these will definitely get some reuse at some point even if they don't scale.

Does anyone else have their game freeze up when they click on an achievement in the chat window? It's like my game decides that clicking on achievements means it's time to load every texture again, or something.
So I'm not sure how elements are applied since we don't see debuffs on monsters.
Lets say I equip both the conflagration and cold blooded passive. I buff myself with magic weapon:Ignite. When I spam Glacial Spikes and Frozen orbs, am I applying my cold blooded and conflagration debuff at the same time or do the passives only work on the base element of my spells?
And follow up question: If my weapon has a fire damage stat on it, can I just ignore Magic Weapon:Ignite and get the conflagration debuff applied when I cast my frost spells?

Yeah. I think it's from loading someone's entire achievements set.
I was using impale to throw swords at mobs for 1 million damage. I need to design an item set with a lot of hatred generation so I can just throw swords all the time and not be bothered with other abilities.

This is one of those things that makes me excited about this patch. Pre-patch, every equipment choice boiled down to getting primary stats (ideally trifecta stats) in all your gear, and versatility be damned. Now, we can talk about exploring items that complement a specific build or play-style.
It's the third legendary I've found since the update. Obviously Leoric's Crown is from the Skeleton King, but I've only killed him once and haven't farmed for legendaries.
Or exploring builds to complement a specific item. For example, I found this legendary neck that spawns 2 ghost shades of yourself every time you stun an enemy. Cue me thumbing through every spell and rune to see what stuns a witch doctor has access to. Sadly I just don't have a reliable go-to stun move to truly take advantage of it. It will proc off a gargantuan's stun, so it's a nice bonus that pops every now and then.

Yeah all these new gear options are interesting. My only problem is not knowing if something is an upgrade. Which is better having my fire spell do 18% more dmg or 6% crit chance. How about when I use Magic Weapon runed for Ignite? are all my spells fire dmg now? So can I keep my arcane wizard build and get the fire spell dmg bonus? I really need a targeting dummy and dps meter so I can figure this shit out.

Just feels like I lack ommph for elites whatever skills I use.
I might replace Fire Ally with SSS for a bit to try it out, but I have 15% extra fire damage right now, so I want to take advantage of it.
I have upwards of 60-70% dodge chance at times based on my cooldowns. This build is stupid fun, it's all about outlasting the enemies.
and I can farm T1 solo with it at least

Full fury (with passive for more fury) = everything in a clump is dead
