Huh, I thought at least crit/crit dmg worked fine with dots.
I don't like dots on WD or otherwise because it takes too long for them to apply full damage. Like, compared to direct damage. They'd have to do way more % damage to be worth it, mostly.
So it "works fine" in that you either have every tick crit, or not. And if you reapply while its critting, you are applying a new roll, so if it doesnt crit you just lost a stupid amount of damage. And it doesnt show as critting, so its really hard to tell in a group of numbers if your dot is critting or not and if you should reapply.
There's a new set bonus that will be 'use x ability, to have all the remaining ticks of dots currently up to go off at once', but honestly that seems like a fuck ton of work to pull off when ability x also has a 10 second cooldown. It could be fun though and I want to give it a shot... ( I think x is soul harvest)
Ah, I thought dots worked like channels, ie you don't see crit numbers but it does crit normally. That sucks.
Yeah I've seen the set, it's on Soul Harvest. I suppose it would be ok with pestilence Locusts. It's.. what, 1000% ish weapon damage, and then 700% from Soul Harvest with the rune. Maybe it can even crit?
Haunt is just awful crap, they'd have to make it some sort of aoe to fix it.
I remember very vividly going into a Gamestop the day D3 launched without a preorder and picking up the "last copy" (whew).
Then I had to mill around the mall for a bit waiting for my wife and went back into the Gamestop at some point where someone else was getting the "last copy" (whew).
The disdain in the clerk's voice for my audacity at not preordering. The sheer irresponsibility on my part. It's a wonder I'm still alive.
Oof, latency spikes are destroying me on this Asian realm. I've never actually died to the regular wandering zombies before. It's oddly humbling.
Eep, I wonder what my latency would be to Asia considering how awful my connection to California is. Then again, tracert attributes my connection problems to a shitty Cogentco hop in PA, so Asia might just be better depending on which direction it goes around the globe. :rotate:
Hm, I'd heard that you could just jump into a lvl 60 game for a checkpoint, but that's actually pretty cool if the game lets you do it at level 1. Best of both worlds.

Went to an EB once to grab something and they were shocked and dismayed I hadn't preordered. The clerk and his sidekick rambled for a bit about the benefits and finally I just stated, "Yes or no." Yes was the answer, but he asked me as I paid what I would have done if they hadn't gotten extra copies. "I'd have gone to the big AV store 4 blocks up and bought it for the same price because they'll have a hundred copies in a display right at cash."
In their defence, I think I bought something the night Halo 2 launched and they had a zillion people there, and the manager was bringing in people making other purchases not Halo related and ringing them up which was nice. Now we're in the glorious digital future, and the odd time I do buy a physical copy, I hit up a local grocery store around the corner since they always get 20 or so copies and it's the same 4 or 5 of us that show up that morning.

anyone know how long Act V is compared to the other acts?
Supposedly it's comparable to Acts 1, 2, or 3 in length (not combined), maybe a tiny bit longer? It can still be speedrunned in less than an hour, so it's not like some uberact that's half as long as the original D3 or anything.

You can buy video games in a grocery store?
Well depending on the store Walmart, Target, and Fred Meyers all have grocery parts to their stores yet sell electronics.
I'm at a loss as to what to do, play my monk in the expanion or start a crusader. DECISIONS!!!
I would like some money because these are artisanal nuggets of wisdom philistine.

Well if places like Target counts, then yeah?
But at least a decade ago, I'd occasionally seen popular games being sold at convenience stores like 7-11 in Asia.
Ooh, I will be trying to play at launch. Thought it was going to be a 3AM or midnight affair for the west coast but 9PM is pretty reasonable. It's so close!
Profile -> Signature Settings -> Hide signatures always. Then you don't have to read this worthless text anymore.
Also for those skipping the few information nuggets about launch tonight on the Blizzard site or in the thread:
Reaper of Souls launches 9PM Pacific, 12AM Eastern TONIGHT! If you're already logged on everything will just magically be available after Blizzard flips the switch, there is no need to relog or patch. As there will likely be a lot of people trying to create new games for adventure mode and Act 5, the recommendation for those wishing to play existing characters into Act 5 is that you begin an existing game at the Prime Evil quest in Act 4 prior to launch, wait for the global launch notification in chat, then kill Diablo. You will automatically be taken to Act 5 in the same game! Hurray!

Unless gamestop is doing a midnight release that is...

Its barb and monk mixed together with pretty armor. My new favourite class.
STR and VIT.
Surprise. Surprise and fear. And a fanatical devotion to the pope.

And ruthless efficiency!
Wow, that takes me back to the days when WOW actually felt threatened by STAR WARS.
Enjoying the walking tank so far.
I'll come in again.
To people in the uk, https://www.gamekeysnow.com are selling RoS for £25.
I've used them before, and they're legit.
Keys are emailed out at 10:01 GMT.
Now I just have to kill 4 hours...
2 Khulle for school.
This bad joke instantly reminded me of Infamous: Second Son.
Certain NPC's in the city yell "Well aren't you too cool for school!" as you run by using powers.
I mean I guess I could get rushed there but that's not how I want to do it.
Pretty sure Blizzard said if you had any character who had beaten act 4, you could start in act 5 on a new character.
Oh, weird.
and anyone else interested:
the eu PA clan is rather small, if you still want to join feel free to drop me a message at evilthecat#2464.
I'll send you an invite of you don't mind ?
I've never grouped in D3 before, is it as chaotic as I imagine ?
eh not really!
it's more enjoyable though!
