Pax East 2014 Board Game Playtesting?
Hey all,
I'm looking to spend a lot of time at the board game section of the convention. In addition to glutting myself on games with strangers, I'm also planning on bringing a few prototype copies of Santorini, my midweight role-selection game about rebuilding the island of Santorini after a volcano eruption buried your last homes in ash. Two questions:
To moderators, planners, etc; what resources/rules/restrictions should I be aware of if I want to do some blind playtesting and possibly pitch the game to any publishers that might be there? I'm new to the con and publishing scene, so I don't have much experience here.
To everyone else; If you're interested in trying a new game and providing feedback and blind playtesting, I'm offering playtester credits in the rules and the chance to win a copy of the prototype to take home.
Let me know with a PM or by replying to this thread.
Thanks!
Zhrusk

I'm not sure if there are publishers there with time for game pitches. I guess I don't know, but in general I didn't think that sort of thing had much representation at the con.
As far as soliciting for people to play your game, you can't do that on the forums without asking first. We have a nice indie games section for boardgames and videogames that you can ask permission to be a part of (there are instructions in a sticky there). Other than that thread, you can include info for your game in your signature if it conforms to 500x80 pixels and mention that you are bringing it to tabletop freeplay or the game nights. Making threads for it is not permitted.
I am sure that if you bring a cool new game to pax, there will be people to play it. I for one love playing new games at pax and I know tons of other people are the same way.
Geth, close this thread.
