Was Ben's head around? I know he's not with PA any more so his will be harder to get; did anyone see it at East?
I haven't started collecting Staff Heads yet and thought I'll wait till Aus to try in person; but if I can't easily get Ben, I'm not sure I'll try so much.

I was looking, but I didn't see any Ben pins. I'm only missing him, KI Fightstick, and DLC, so getting him is a high priority for me.

I don't think that it's making space that's hard, it's making good use of the space that's already available. Does PAX really need dozens of Xbox 360's in the console freeplay area that sit unused? PAX East has way more available floor space then PAX Prime. If they can make such a thing happen in Seattle then it should be virtually effortless to do at the BCEC.

No Ben was not there and neither was his head. He will have some at Prime though. I have been trying to work out a deal for his but have had no luck.
His head was supposed to be at East but they accidentally didn't bring the box with his head, it'll be at Prime.
@imsorad I work CFP and it's not easy estimating how many Xbox 360s versus xbox 1s we'll need before the show. I can tell you though that by 6pm and later all the consoles were taken (tabletop has a similar problem, once expo he'll closes we just don't have enough games/consoles to meet demand). It's nowhere near as bad as it is at Prime (we have a ton more room) but we definitely need more room to accommodate demand.
We've asked Khoo about this and one of the big differences between PAX and other shows is that attendees come inside and actually stay almost the whole time. The BCEC is expanding by 30% in the next three years but when the show sells out in like a half hour and there are huge waits at console freeplay/PC freeplay, tabletop freeplay after 6pm were not optimized correctly.
All that being said often the queue room is often unused, no reason we couldn't have a pin trading area there.

Assuming I have a very small pin collection, is there any pins currently in the PA online store worth buying?
Since "worth" is partially subjective... I'd say ALL OF THEM! Really it depends on your intent, the sets in the store can be the best value for those starting out and wanting fodder for trading. The staff can't refuse a trade and they will have a variety of pins including the more exclusive ones, so you can trade up your fodder.

I meant no disrespect the CFP area, just trying to make a point that there is still available room at PAX. Take the Diversity Lounge for example, that never existed until this year.

Unfortunately, I must bow out of trading for a while. I opened a new business back in October and it's taking all of my time, energy, and most of all, money. Saying that, I've VERY painfully decided to put up my collection on eBay (including my DLC). I honestly thought that I'd never sell these but money flow is back to college and ramen days.
I'll still be around, I just won't be trading for a while. Thanks again, everyone.

Really REALLY want some solid info on the KI Pin Ultimate situation..... Have been asking around myself, but i seem to always end up chasing my own tail with people having little to no information at all... Hopefully you can do better.

I've tried that with no success. I made a few really good trades via pinnypals before East 14, and since then it seems like everyone thinks their Aus Pins are worth infinity dollars and that they'll be able to trade it for a DLC pin so they want to hold on to them for "something they really want". I try and trade for pins that my friends need because they aren't as obsessed with this as I am, but they dig certain specific pins that I just couldn't get enough of. Same problem, they're holding onto that Leeroy or 10th Anniversary for "something they really want", which are the original set of Aus pins.
Pinnypals seemed to work really awesome, but now it just seems that a lot of people are just pin hoarding hoping for that "big score".
Really nice article. I especially like the last part about the pin purchasing. I was hoping to score a 10th anniversary on Sunday, but they sold out SUPER quick. I got some really great pins, and got to meet mike and jerry (I as so excited about talking to jerry that I forgot to get mike to sign my badge hahahaha)
