Not sure where this question best goes, but when it comes to pin trading at PAXs, is there a way to or agreed upon method of distinguishing pinthusiast from here? Like figuring out if you are meeting someone you've talked to in the forums in person.

From what I understand, alot of people bought the cool named bags that May ordered. Look for the names ;)

But generally we all gather together and hang around alot, so once you find 1 person you generally find a heap!

A lot of people picked up one of @maywest 's forum handle messenger bag, so those would be the easiest way to determine who people are.

The best way to determine people though: Come to our meetups. Meet people, introduce yourself, etc, you'll come to recognize faces over the weekend.

Just be friendly, you can always ask "Hey, are you on the forums?" If they are, they'll know what you mean. There's a lot of us and it's hard to remember who is who sometimes.

Or you could always just grab them by the throat, hoist them in the air, and - neck muscles bulging crazily - scream 'WHO ARE YOU!?!" at them. ^_^

All valid ideas. I'd say look for people laden with too many pins. You'll find me that way. I may be sporting a vest this year. My poor scarf can't take much more.

Take a look at my pins

For those going to Prime, I will be doing another bag order in a month or so. I will post in the forums when I'm getting the order together. If you want me to remind you, let me know you are interested ... this is not a commitment, I will just remind you that you were interested.

This is what the bag looks like:

Hi guys I am interested in joining a pin pal group and I messaged manic2k and I haven't heard anything for about a week. I was wondering who else I could contact regarding joining a group. Thanks guy!

Yeah, those bags are fantastic and i cant wait to use mine at PAXAUS!

Manic2k is certainly one of the first members of this great community, and he used to do all the group stuff. He has since taken a back seat with all that due to life commitments. I suggest talking to PedroAsani who is another of the first members, he will know alot about it too. Not sure who exactly does the groups now, but ask pedro he will certainly know more

What PAX would you consider your "primary" PAX? Just in case someone's looking and sees what you can commit to :P

The PA store has a lot of things still listed (e.g. Arcade Stick) -- which is why I about being mocked by ghosts of double blind boxes.

I'm new to the forums but I've been pin trading since PAXAus 2013. I finally got around to joining pinny pals and the forums here. I can be kinda shy so I love using pin trading as an excuse for starting out a conversation with people.

    Hey there.

Gonna be at AUS 15? We have pin bags now!

EDIT: The link to your pin lanyard is broken. Probably needs the "http://" at the start.

That's what I get for setting up signatures when I'm sleepy. All fixed now.

I'll be heading over to Melbourne again for pax aus 2015 so I'll see a few of you there. The bags look awesome and are very tempting.

Does PA official know that the Official Pinny Arcade site now has a bunch of broken links? Since they pulled a number of sets. The front page has the Halloween set promoted, and all four of those links are now 404. And the billboard at the top has the core set in it.

  • AyefkayAyefkay Queensland, AustraliaRegistered User regular
Welcome Warpwind! Dont forget to join our whatsapp group, alot of us are there and we talk about all kinds of stuff pinny or not pin related. Good fun to be had and a great way to get to know your new family.

Stay away from fishfishmonkeyhat though.....just a real bad influence on everyone...

Thanks for the heads up. With all the attention to the new bits to the main site I think this got lost, i'll ping people to fix\remove them.

    Hey heroes,

My Aus Pin Pal has to unfortunately take this Aus off, and so I am searching for a new Aus Pin Pal! I attend Prime and East (and I'll probably keep going to South as well), so I am a pretty good one stop shop for the American pins.

I have the following East pins ready to trade as well for any new Pinny Pals that want to jump in from Australia as well:

    East Core (4 pins)
    East Polygon (1 pin)
East We Love Fine/TF (4 pins)
    Supergiant/Bastion (1 pin)
    Harmonix/Rock Band (1 pin)

He told me that last year, and then just looked back and forth to his sides like there was someone there and then looked back at me.

    I just nodded politely.
