Brutal J finished another volley of blows and stopped to catch his breath. He scanned the stadium and started to walk off to the other side of the arena. Heenato shouted asking where he thought he was going. Heenato tried to attack him from behind, but the boxer still managed to turn and bat his blade aside before continuing to the edge of the arena floor. Heenato growled in frustration and decided to just wait. It was better than having to deal with the constant ring of the metal armor. Brutal J called out to a passing vendor. The vendor dropped a bottle down for him. It was a good idea to include this bottle holder in the gloves. Otherwise how would he have held it! He wrenched the cap off with his teeth and took a long refreshing gulp of soda. It was four hours later since the start of the fight.

That vendor better hope I lose because selling this inferior soda will not stand.

Risen has had an effect on me. I am normally a disgusting dogooder in my RPGs, white knighting everyone and respecting the sanctity of everyone's property.

Risen locked me into the Harbour Town for seven hours and counting of playtime with all the 'good' quests costing 500 gold to buy stolen property off people before returning it and getting 200 gold reward. Gold is doubly precious so far because you use it not only for the normal weapons and armor and potions and such but also for all stat and skill upgrades.

So I broke down and bought two levels of pickpocket and two levels of lockpicking and I have robbed every soul in town blind at this point and looted everything not nailed down.

Also I'm 10 hours in and I can't cast a single spell yet. Between this and Kings Bounty WotN I seem to be picking games that gate magic abilities really really far into the game. I just want to make the world burn, is that so wrong?
@lolo WotN only looks like it gates magic abilities really far into the game because the game is at least 100 hours long. You still have like 95% of the game to go once you unlock the first valk. I believe you're still less than 50% when you unlock all of the Valks.

Heenato would have considered giving up if we hasn't pretty sure it'd mean he'd have to die. He spent the last 20 minutes just standing there letting the crazy guy just keep hitting in him the chest. He tried hard to remember what it was his instructor told him. Why did he spend so much time practicing the spinning tricks instead of the attack exercises!

I still stand by my assertion that, the very end of ME3 aside, the ME series, taken as a whole, is probably one of the best video games in the history of video games. Like top 10 easily.

And if you view every thread closed in ME3 as the actual ending and not get so hung up on the final few minutes (that are granted, a lot more bearable now with the ending patch), even the ending isn't such a big deal.

EDIT: ME3 is probably one of the best games in history, on it's own merits, however I'll grant it requires too much investment in the form of needing to have experienced at least ME2 in order to fully enjoy it and the events.

    Battle Fifteen
Seven hours since the start of the fight. Night had fallen and most of the spectators had left. Heenato had had enough and began to sob.
Brutal J slowed his punches as he saw the man before him crying. Brutal J stopped and said "Hey little man, don't cry. You are doing really well."
Heenato sniffled "Really? You think so? I thought if I won this tournament, that maybe I'd finally make some friends. "
"I understand, I am beink lonely too. My wife left me, says I am too much a stereotype. I don't know what that meaning."
Heenato laughed and wiped his nose.
"That's better" Brutal J tapped him across the chin with his fist playfully.
    "Ow"
They talked all night in an empty stadium. They talked about their hopes and dreams, and favorite games. It was everything Heenato had imagined having a friend would be like.
"Man you really like soda huh? How did you do that thing with your muscles. I could barely make a scratch." Heenato said.
"Very difficult, takes much concentration. Here let me show you. Ok, you hold the knife and aim here. Give me a moment to prepare."
    "Ok now?"
Brutal J grunted as he strained, the vein in his forehead thumping.
    "Not ye..."
Heenato took the grunt as a yes and had stabbed Brutal J in the heart. The big man fell over dead. Later, as the sun was coming up, a custodian found Heenato still standing in the arena, holding a bloodied sai and standing over Brutal J's body.
    "Hey you got him! Congratulations."
    Heenato blinked and looked around.
"I did it....I....won! I'm gonna win this whole tournament!"
Henato jumped in the air with a fist raised in celebration.

I'm 56% of the way through Saint's Row 4. And as expected, it is one of the top 10 games I've played in 5 years. They made GTA3, then SR or SR2 (no idea on the timeline) but this...This is a masterpiece. The music in the Rifts, the character arcs, just ... everything. It hasn't overstayed its welcome, new mini games are constantly showing up, the banter during missions, I..just..words.

It's so great, thanks again @Blackjack
