They've got a Kickstarter going, too. I know they can't promise anything but maaaaan I hope it turns into something nice. I gave them some money to help, just in case it does turn into something big again.
One of the largest draws for a website like CGHub was from the number of active users, and how many of those active users are really super good. I think that the biggest risk for them is not in creating a website, but getting the mass number of users back. I'll wait it out and cross my fingers really hard.
Yeah I would always go to CGhub and just get inspired/drool at the crazy art. There isn't a site with similar functionality that I know of. It was just easy to browse and had a really active community.
Yeah...I've seen a lot of cool "hey it's an artsite" places, but I liked how you could follow specific artists and save out your favorite images to an easily-viewable list. I haven't found a site that did the CGHub thing as well as they did, so hopefully all that functionality will be showing up in the new iteration.
So I've been thinking. A lot of this time I've been focusing on what diet to stay on. Low cal, low carb, etc....
But I think I may have been focusing in the wrong direction. I think in order for me to be successful, I need to become a morning person.
If I could wake up at 5am, excercise, not require as much caffeine, and have more energy during the day, I think my life might be completely different.
So I've been researching how to do it, and I'm going to try these things out.
Sleep earlier (my typical bedtime is roughly 2am)
Go to sleep as often as I can at a set bed time (I'm thinking as close to 11 as possible) but I know it'll be more likely to be midnight. This might be hard to accomplish because of my multiple job work schedule.
Wake up at the same time every day. That includes weekends.
Wake up the first time I wake up from the alarm, and not go through the snooze.
Cut out caffeine consumption after a given hour (3pm?). Hopefully eventually cutting it out entirely.
Wear a sleep mask to create darkness. (My daughters and wife prefer some low light, but I prefer full darkness.)
I'm told this is all necessary to wake up feeling more awake. I'm going to focus on achieving this first. If I can, I can work in exercise and eating better. I mean I'm not going to pig out. I'll try to eat in moderation until this kicks in. But yeah. I really need to wake the fuck up.
Man what the fuck. So a few days ago our parliament launched this video to promote the european parliament election coming up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drc6zOfI-yI
And now it's been taken down... because people failed to see that it's ironic and said it perpetuated negative stereotypes... I mean come on, that video doesn't try to scare you into voting or promote violence any less than it promotes using dolphins as jet skis. It's ridiculous, do people just not understand the concept of satire?
Looks like one of my credit cards got skimmed, which is insane to me
My card was always on me, not lost, and I figured I've only gone to "safe" places, nothing sketchy and very few "new" spots.
The person tried a bunch of transactions today, and I just reported it to the police...they went to different places so hopefully that increases the chances that the security videos show something.
Maaaaan I hope they get caught. This was not how I was planning on spending my day off hahaha but I'm glad I had no obligations and could immediately take care of the issue.
Wait, so you don't know how it left your possession at all?
It never left my possession in a manner I would've thought was suspicious, and all the fraudulent transactions were made in-person at physical stores in other places from where I was, which is why I'm convinced the card was skimmed. The scary part is that skimming can be done with swipes you make if the console has been compromised. The only other recent times my card was out of my possession was when I handed it to a cashier (who can skim it) and once last week when I went to a restaurant and gave my card to the waitress (who can skim it). I also leave my bag on my desk at work but there's practically a zero percent chance anything happened there.
The problem is that I have no idea when they got this information, but I suspect it was recent if they tried to go nuts with my info today only. And if they got the info recently (like, even within the last two weeks?) that severely limits the places they may've gotten the information from.
Gas pumps are apparently a pretty popular target as well.
When in doubt, I usually just run my card as credit. It doesn't cost anything, and if it gets skimmed, they won't have my PIN at least, so I stand a better chance of not losing a lot of money.

If you're using a debit card, seriously consider switching to a credit card (or getting one). Apparently getting your money back from fraudulent purchases is MUCH, much easier when using a credit card. With a debit card it's more of a hassle and I've heard you may not get it all back.
I'm not going to be accountable for any of the charges, luckily! And since they were all made today through credit, I haven't technically lost any money.
I just went through a video-captured list of MA's "most wanted" for fraud/thefts hahaha...figured "just in case". :P

default shorcuts is for chumps, S for brush and D for erase all the way. What kind of wizardy is that you ask? The kind where I never have to look at my hand.
I remember working at the Credit Card Fraud Department and having to explain to a woman that while she was away on her trip, the credit card that she gave her daughter had a single $25 transaction at a gas station about 80 miles from her home.
"I bet it was identity thieves", she said.
"I don't think so, usually they would have tried a couple of big ticket purchases by now", I reply "could this have been your daughter".
"Heavens, no! Not my Susan!"

Welp, I'm about to go try out this online dating thing. Meeting this girl for lunch today. Hopefully it goes well. Hopefully she's actually a girl and not 3 plus dudes.
Pretty psyched about the staircase view at my new digs.
The building is about as bohemian as you can get in Seattle without going to one of those artist commune/heroin den places, hoping it's gonna be inspirational.
Ended up looking like a complete fucking idiot today.

Speaking of short. Today our magnificent teacher Frank Barbiere (a vertically challenged guy) sort of bowed down to look at one of my classmate's computer screens, even though he's basically as tall as the table plus the screen. I was this close to bursting out "dude, what are you doing, you're the perfect height for the screen" before I slapped myself. I am a horrible person.
Also, yesterday I was cooking food in the common area and while cooking I figured I'd do my morning gymnastics routine since nobody was around. And, well, see there's this glass pane dividing the kitchen and the hallway which I was staring at while doing my routine so I could see if anyone was coming, however the sun had begun falling upon it in such a way that the glare was too strong and I couldn't really see through it. So it turns out I've been staring this cute girl down as she walked up to the kitchen, while I was jogging super fast on the spot...
hey there's nothing wrong with being short
NOTHING WRONG AT ALL
(yeah what the shit)
Nothing wrong with being short . . . but when you fill the gaps with some grating noise, I expect a little bit more content around the edges to make up for it lol.
But it's hard to argue too much when the content is so damn good.
Just don't squeal at people and you'll be fine. You're not The Roots.

That sucks. At least fraud protection, while not totally painless to deal with, is more robust than it used to be. Do you know what they tried to buy?

He pried it off and brought it in to the bank. They probably quietly swept it under the table.

That's like getting three extra stuffed animals tangled up and hangin' on when you're playing the claw machine.

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY I'M OLD OH YEAH

let's see how big a canvas I can use
Oh, and my date went well! She was not actually multiple men, which was a relief.
