He's made a comment about warping through obstacles and making fools of powerful enemies, and praised me for cheating.
It's a stretch, but what if that's going to be a game mechanic? Like, exploits as a feature?
I think he's just referencing the long history of people speedrunning Castlevania titles through insane wall-glitching, jump-kicking, boss-humiliating methods.
At least, as long as you just read the text translation of IGA and ignore the HORRIBLE translator that gets half of the translation wrong and adds a ton of stuff IGA didn't say to it. That guy was seriously driving me crazy.
Edit: Wow, it was late I guess, didn't see this was posted on the last page :P
Old Axe Armour is a playable character in Portrait of Ruin. Alucard wore the literally old Axe Armour, once upon a time.
Is Harmony of Despair any fun? I tried the demo once, but I couldn't get over the zoom.
It's not the best as a single player experience, but it can be a lot of fun with a bunch of people. Especially when there are And yeah, you can toggle between three different zoom levels.

I got the impression that they hadn't intended on leaving Ben's translation in there, but due to the complexity of everything, they had to leave a lot of it in to not mess with the gameplay footage too much.
If I remember right there is some official artwork of the Old Axe Armor without her helmet, and it is a woman. She has red hair, I believe. Of course, her body doesn't look much like the body of the Old Axe Armor sprite.
As for Harmony of Despair, it can be a bit of a brick wall when starting out, especially solo. You're very slow and die very easily (and in single player that means game over). If you've got people to play with or are willing to put in the time to grind out some good gear and such it can be pretty dang fun though (it's my most played XBLA game by far, with Castle Crashers in a distant second).
There is a time limit on the stages, but 99% of the time it is a non-issue in singleplayer. In multiplayer, when you die you become a skeleton and other characters can revive you with an item called Water of Life, but if you die while you're still a skeleton then it deducts time off of the clock and you reappear as a skeleton back where you originally died. So the time limit really only comes into effect there to stop you from beating a boss even after party members have died a dozen times.
I imagine the multiplayer is mostly dead at this point though, so if you wanted to play multiplayer it'd probably be best to find others that are interested instead of relying on random matchmaking.

Man, you guys who are getting extra items, did you tweet or use the facebook button? I can't seem to get anything more than the clan contract.
Edited to add: The Axe Armor character in Portrait of Ruin still uses Jonathan's voice set, but Maria's portrait (in some screens it will show Maria as the partner), so it's kind of a big unknown what the developers intended. According to lore from PoR games the armored enemies are "veteran zombies", so they would have a physical sex. At the time of PoR's release, Konami added this Axe Armor illustration @Lars mentioned to one of their official sites:
Edited 2: Apparently, a bunch of the names being given out (such as Malphas and Forneus) are from the Ars Goetia, a book of sorcery, see here. Caim is a gaelic rendering of the biblical Cain. It would be interesting to see a list of sources, I think.

I did tweet one or two things at the beginning, but didn't get a scroll until Thursday or Friday. I haven't gotten anything extra since then. I click on the whip every now and then, but not obsessively.
I have a feeling it's a timed unlock with a side of "X number of votes." I haven't been obsessive about it, but I do vote often. Usually I get a good 40-50 in while I'm walking my dog, or during commercials watching Law & Order reruns.

I also wonder what determines your vote causing the other side to lose a point. Someone speculated that it would only happen at night, but I had it occur yesterday around 4 or 5 PM, and again this morning for a few clicks.
I think that's the "minute of lunacy" or a battle. I originally thought it was at night since I only saw it then and I first noticed the comment from Iga about moonlight when it happened.
Got The Third Scroll - the alchemists have vanished; only their curse remains.
Not sure if it popped up on its own or I I got it earlier and didn't see while voting. Can't see the text box, weapon choice and item list all at the same time on mobile.
Alchemy, eh? Wasn't that the power source of the Vampire Killer in the Cronqvist timeline?
Rinaldo Gandolfi creates the Vampire Killer/Combat Cross with the aide of alchemy in both the Cronqvist and Gabriel universes.

I always thought the lore in the pre-LoS series got pretty dumb by the end. Still loved the games, but it was always a gameplay-first thing for me.
I should go back and play through Harmony of Dissonance and Portrait of Ruin. I never did get the good endings for those games; in fact, I'm pretty sure I got the ending equivalents of defeating Richter in SotN.

Also, didn't see this one come up yet:

Aren't they golems made out of armor? Do they have genders?
Just a heads-up. My post was entirely made up, based on his "I have watched you cheat" line.

edit2: I also have a soft spot for Ben Judd; I listened to the podcast he had going when he was with Capcom and working on Bionic Commando.
edit: Wow, I didn't even notice it would be hosted by Kinda Funny. Cool.
Watch this, and tell me you wouldn't play the shit out of it.

Yeah. I got the good nickname.
