Also, I had no idea the original voice for Richter died in 2000. For some reason I have this memory of looking up an actor for Too Human of all games and it was the same guy who played Richter, but maybe that was just IMDb being bad at the time.
Playing SotN on PS4... Does anyone else have audio issues? The music is really quiet and slightly grainy. Half the reason I play this game is because of the awesome music.

Season 2 Episode 2 minor spoiler
I love that they are fighting Gaibon Slogra (Dinosaur King/Gargoyle)
Also Trevor and Alucard and Sypha are great together.
Aww...Looks like they've renamed Vampire Killer to "morningstar" in this.
Thats kind of disappointing.
That was the original name of that upgrade from when you go from leather to chain.
Yeah, the original whip was Vampire Killer, right? The leather one?

I love the banter between Trevor and Alucard. God they just bust each other's balls at every opportunity.
Also the realization that Alucard is more or less a 19-20 year old rather spoiled kid (up to, like, a year ago?) and that he may look maybe 30+ but he's still sort of a punk kid at the point where we first meet him.

Trevor: "We can't move this thing. Sypha broke it."
Sypha: "I did not."
Alucard: "You kind of did."
Sypha: "I do not break things."
Trevor: "So, we agreed, she broke it."

I don't even have a ps4 and I'm disappointed by the rerelease. Would it really have been that much effort to port the 2.5d version of rondo of blood on there as well? It just seems very lazy and uninspired

S2 ending
Good but was really hoping they would go full Jojo with the series and skip ahead to the next generation with Simon. Showrunners have mentioned wanting to adapt SOTN eventually and Soma's DS games so heres hoping.
Only reason I can see for them to stay in this era is to adapt Curse of Darkness and redeem themselves by introducing Grant.
Was Vampire Killer in season 2? Or are forumers confusing it with Bloody Tears?
Is it the part of episode 7?
Because that’s definitely Bloody Tears. I don’t remember hearing Vampire Killer, but I might’ve just missed it

Episode 7
I 100% confuse Bloody Tears and Vampire Killer all the time.
I even thought it was Bloody Tears, listened to Vampire Killer and thought it was that and then realized later that no it was Bloody tears.

Yeah but that’s harder to get ahold of now. There’s definitely something to be said of the ‘original’ version being replaced in the common consciousness

Yeah, lots of great interesting character beats between the two
A: I’m realizing I actually had more of a childhood than you
T: Yeah, and your dad is fucking Dracula.
The show is funny as hell. Season 1 had lots of great humor and moments but it was too short. S2 just felt nicely paced the whole way through, and there are a bunch of good setups for next season. And just a lot of wonderful hilarious character moments like you cited. Of course I should have expected it to be solid with humor, it's written by Warren Ellis.
Also (late s2 spoilers)
Trevor, Sypha and Alucard tearing up a room full of vampires to the Castlevania theme was preeeeeetty good.

It was Bloody Tears, from Simon’s Quest.
What is generally considered the “theme” music of Castlevania is Vampire killer.
That it was Bloody Tears was incredibly appropriate given how Dracula ended up.
Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.
I was also impressed that while it never really attempted to humanize the vampires, it does give you certain moments of ‘well maybe everything is bad?’
Alucard getting emotional about the wall of vampire skull trophies, especially the obviously child-sized one, was pretty rough

Ah ok, you're right. Thanks for clearing that up. It had hints of some SOTN in there, so I thought it might have been a play on one of the tracks in that game.

Eh...
Through S2E8:
I think it's clear that most vampires are happily monstrous. The only ones to show any real humanity are Dracula and Alucard.
I like how Dracula is clearly a tragic figure in this, it's much more interesting than his take over the world spiels.
The question of why Dracula didn't turn his wife is interesting, and not something that crossed my mind until Carmilla raised the point. I'm assuming it's a matter of Dracula respecting her wishes on it though. I also like that it's clear Dracula was honestly being reformed, and there was the potential happy future for the family but for the inquisition.
I'm a little saddened at some of the ending, but damn everything was SO SO GOOD.
Season 2 ends with everything tied up too damn nicely with Dracula. Just setting up Isaac and Hector's upcoming spat and whatnot.
On another note. I wonder how far through the game chronology they plan to be going through. I hope a damn good while, because so far they're doing this shit justice.
And, finally: Season 3 better underscore Dracula being a chronic fucking problem.
I... don't think that is a spoiler because Castlevania is about Dracula being a chronic fucking problem.

A large part of the groups ability to beat Dracula was in fact that Dracula wanted to die. He was feeble from not having fed, and quite literally had a death wish. And he was still vastly more powerful than any of them. Having him be reborn without that baggage would definitely ratchet up the threat

Probably better than any show thats based on Castlevania has any right to be.
The slow build to "Bloody Tears" with the . . . beginning of S2E7 had me straight up clapping. That shit was epic.

There's always the PSN PS1 version for that. I also have a fondness for the original dub, stilted as it is.
