So I just saw the Barenaked Ladies here last night. (Yes, I am aware this is two JLU screencaps away from lighting the Jordyn signal.) They were fucking awesome, and hilarious to boot. This is one of the regrettably few live shows I've been to, and it's driving me to get out and see a lot more, and hang the expense.
Let us speak of awesome concerts and gigs we have attended, and what made them awesome. Or, if necessary, let us speak of shitty gigs we went to and what went wrong. Tell me, SE++, who have you seen perform live, and how good were they?
I went to a large multi-band show that was thrown in my hometown by the local radio station. Featured Breaking Point, Gravity Kills, Tommy Lee, Puddle of Mudd and Static-X. Was kinda eh.
I also saw Weird Al in concert during his Poodlehat tour, and he rocked. Lots of costume changes and audience interaction.
Jordyn that is so awesome, I love Brad and Colin is adorable most of the time. At BNL, Ed did an freestyle rap about the shitty little "camera obscura" attraction they have here, and it made me so happy I think I may have climaxed.
I saw one of Weird Al when he came through town for Touring with Scissors. Thats still one of my favorite
shows.
Last week I saw mc chris. His part of the show was good but really short, half as long as all his previous
shows. Coming up i'm definately going to see MC Lars, Frontalot, and Optimus Rhyme when they play at
Dante's on the 20th.

the only concerts I have been to were TMBG and Polyphonic Spree
Last concert I went to was to see Gangrene. Which was awesome, not only because of the rad tunes, but because they opened a case of beer at the end and passed them out.
remember, bring him to the guy from XKCD and get a free t-shirt!

We recently saw The Who. It was awesome because it was The fucking Who.
I have also seen Weird Al a number of times, Clapton, Elton John from pretty much the most terrible seats ever, U2, and probably some other stuff that was also good.
The Last gig i went to was Dragonforce in Cardiff, and boy howdy they were fun to watch. Seriously, ignore anyone who says otherwise, they were all hells of fun.
Ive seen less than jake a couple of times and i think they are still possibly my favourite live band
Nofx were hilarious and the venue i saw them at was amazing, and they can seriously play so that was a spectacular show, plus there was a balcony come hardcore punks had bought tickets for by accident so about half way through nofx a couple of guys jumped into the crowd from about 20-30ft all round awesome
I saw Greenday, Iggy pop, [Spunge], A, and a couple of other bands at a big open air thing which was surprising as Greenday were really good and Iggy pop sucked (I know, what the fuck?)
I saw motorhead at a leisure centre in Newport which was a little surreal. Holy hell were they loud though, and Sepultura supported them who were frankly utter and total shit.
Reel Big Fish were probably the best musicians ive seen at a live show, they didn't miss a single note all night and their crows interaction was amazing as well
The most fun i ever had at a show though was seeing a band called Lightyear who have broken up unfortunately. They did all kinds of mad shit, like bringing a spaceship on stage and playing the 'Button moon' theme tune and when the crowd were on the stage the singer's hemorrhoids came out or something he said, so he put his hand down his arse to sort them out or something and then started rubbing the crowd with his hand....which was a bit gross but also very funny watching the crowd trying to get off the stage. (I saw them a coupe of times and they were really really fantastic) I was meant to be going to see their reunion tour but i forgot the date and was too skint to get the train.
I'm pretty sure thats about it, apart from a whole shitheap of local shows
But I have seen a lot of bands live. I like concerts.
I would have to say GWAR puts on the best stage show I have ever seen though.

I went to the last day of the Sonshine Festival over in Wilmar, MN in '05 to catch the Relient K/Switchfoot sets they were closing the day with. Horrible day for an outdoor concert - 105 with about 50% humidity and people still deciding to rush the stage when their favorite bands came on. About 50 people had to be carried to the med-tent from the front of the crowd throughout the day, though no one was seriously injured from it all luckily.
Relient K came out, played a song and said "Thanks! We'll be back in 5 minutes," to a light laughter from the crowd...until they actually all walked away. Turns out the lead guy's ear monitor was fucked so he was out of time with a lot of stuff on vocals and guitar - though the slower songs he did great on.
Switchfoot was memorable as they usually are - Jon climbed up the 30 foot scaffolding at some point, awesome lighting for everything, etc. Not to mention they finally got a giant hose going during the middle of the performance so everyone could finally cool down.
Last show I went to was Maylene and the Sons of Disaster, Haste the Day, and some one else. It was pretty bad ass. Next show is HORSE the Band and 12 Looks like You
Going to see John Mayer and Ben Folds in August, then everyone I can see at PAX
I've seen Mindless Self Indulgence live, as well as Blue Man Group (first "real" concert I'd ever been too) as well as a few semi-local punk/ska shows a few years ago

Fram and I saw Colin Mochrie and Brad Sherwood again last weekend.
Apparently Bob Saget is doing a show here in June, and I guess Brian Regan is going to be in the area soon.

Lead singer cried and complained with us on stage while drinking beer.
Started yelling at dudes taking pictures
It was awesome
I also saw Weird Al in concert during his Poodlehat tour, and he rocked. Lots of costume changes and audience interaction.
I love Bob Saget's tagline for his new stand-up tour.
"The Olsen Twins called him Daddy." Or something to that effect.

I also loved They Might Be Giants in concert. There were confetti cannons.
Stephen Lynch is coming to OSU in a week or so. I'm excited. Also Electric Six is coming.

And then Colin started talking about raising a chicken.

it was possibly one of the best concerts i've been to
Rammstein
-fire
-dildos
-moshing galore
it was in a concert that had Sysytem of a Down, Rammstein, Slipknot, plus a few others
after their set, the Rammstein guys went down to the moshpit to show 'em how to do it right
But I have seen a lot of bands live. I like concerts.
I would have to say GWAR puts on the best stage show I have ever seen though.

Also, I need to get tickets for Saget when he comes to town. Are you and Fram planning to go, Jordyn?
