I really can't get mad about it when I dealt with so many PAD (pop-and-drop) matches in the sim games.

I believe the AC5 projectile speed more evenly matches up with PPC projectile speed; thus allowing you a more potent pin point strike. Plus recycle time and reach is pretty nice for them too.
So can someone from the front lines give some information on the jump jet changes in practice. I like to think that the new longer climb time will lead to far greater opportunity to return fire on the poptarters.

Highlander burn time was increased to six seconds. They need at least 3 JJ to be as effective as they used to be, so every poptart Highlander is going to lose out on 2 slots and 4 tons from something. My guess is meta Highlanders are going to run some combination of bit slower, hotter, less armored, or with less ammo than they used to. It doesn't really make them any easier to hit, but it does decrease their rate of fire somewhat.
Victors are mostly the same as before. They only lose out on 2 tons and 2 slots to run 3 JJ, though I think you could probably get away with using 2 maybe.
I think this was a little too subtle of a tweak to really make a difference in the big picture. You'll just see more Victors and CTF-3Ds than you used to.
Their in-air turn radius is affected by number of JJ, too, so this affects brawler builds as well as jump snipers.
Anyway, PGI keeps hitting goals and the game is slowly and steadily improving. Yay.

My settings were randomly defaulted to low last week. Definitely do a once-over on all your settings, and like Ben said, check that you're not in DX11. Reports are mixed on it.

My hiccup was on Monday, before the patch. So, y'know, the typical gremlins. But yeah, the patch also forced someone/everyone's settings.
Also, more Hero mechs for older chassis':
The 5 older mechs that don't have Heroes are:
It is interesting to think about why PGI feels a need for more Heroes. I'd like to think it's to introduce cool things, and isn't just a low-overhead cash grab. I guess I'm indifferent on the whole, until there's a sale.

Maybe with 2 ECM slots...
Just make it a 3L with jumpjets and an extra energy slot, so its the same as the jenner D and then give it an even smaller engine cap to balance out the ECM... like a 270.
My tracking spreadsheet, if you want to see trends, is here. Yes, I'm that guy.
Interesting things: A new "First Time User Experience" top-level category; a new "Clans" top-level category; the supposed completion of the UI 2.0, turrets, achievements, and weapon module components. "Completion", for whatever terminology PGI deems appropriate; I'm guessing "first public launch" or "final for public launch". The Mechlab sure as shit ain't done by any of our standards.
Hooray, progress.
I do better in locusts.
Heretic.
Blasphemer.
Just think of Dragons as really big Locusts then, with better guns and armor. Don't ever stop moving, hit and run, don't get targeted.
Actually, the more I think about that, the more apropos it feels.
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Let's not kid ourselves here. Dragons were never particularly good to begin with, and then got left further behind as more and better mechs were steadily introduced. The Dragon is one mech in particular that needs a balance pass.
That's why it's so much more impressive when you do well in them.

Id love a hero blackjack.
I don't know what a vitzh is, but if it speaks well of the Dragon, then yes, I agree
The only assault I've bought was a Heavy Metal, when it was on sale. It felt like a good deal.
The hero Banshee I looked at, but I eventually figured that I would just load it out similar to one of my Battlemasters, so there was no way that I could justify the price for it.
I'd probably by a Hero Raven because it would be relatively cheap, and I only have one Raven atm anways. Which is a bit strange because I'm sort of meh on the current Raven loadouts, but I just like the way that they look...so I imagine a Hero Raven to look pretty cool (probably some sort of Poe theme).

but that didn't stop a dedicated group of players from mastering the handling and capabilities of it. Most of the players were Japanese and they were so.fucking.good that they would be called vitzh ninja or if they were polite and very team oriented, vitzh samurai.
it was a very awesome treat to witness a vitzh ninja in action.

I didn't either at first, but looking up some things, I don't think Ben is being too charitable here...
[Edit] See, now in context, that sounds pretty neat. Also, being known as a Dragon Ninja would be pretty fucking badass.
DX11?

It was pretty ass in both

It was an entertaining day when you could watch a Dragon tackle an Atlas.
