To be honest I've never liked the Jade Falcon logo. It always looked more like a parrot than a bird of prey to me.
It's neon green, it's going to look like a parrot no matter what.
Well, in this case I feel the swoopy wings and angryface help. The other logos I can take or leave but the new JF one has a lot less "Polly wants a cracker" going on.
Hydro, the designations for the mechs are right there in the upper corner of each mech box. Why would you rather duplicate that information, than change the field you control to something useful or fun?

"Polly wants a cracker" (weird Nirvana connotations aside) is a feature of the old logo.
You are not alone. I just never bothered. Never thought I would end up with so many mechs that it mattered. Now? Ugh. Yeah, should have named them something useful.
All right guys, this is Super Important for reasons I can't fully disclose: What year restriction do we want to place on D-DC's and Command Consoles? Like, any sort of official material you guys have that would cover this, would be INCREDIBLY useful. I want to get this right.
Edit: This might be time sensitive, so we are going with the default of it is in and allowed unless someone presents compelling evidence that it shouldn't be before time is up. No, I don't know how long that is.

Fun is default and stock, bland military like descriptions...
Again, per the Master Unit List and Sarna, the D-DC exists in 3025 as does the Command Console. The CC is noted as being very rare, though.
I say let 'em in.
It is not considered L1 Introductory tech though. I say dissallow the console, but allow the D-DC. Leaving it legal for 3025 play will cause it to be the only Atlas used.
Alternately, the DDC was so rare, dont allow it since any stock configuration is advanced tech and therefore not allowed in 3025 base play.
Nope, didn't have room on the Shadowhawk without reducing the engine size, and I didn't want to go slower than 90 on a medium. The chassis is tall and the hardpoints are high and tight which makes sniping with the ERLL pretty easy. Plus you can see those cannons from the cockpit so I never forget which side they are on, lol I don't have an excess of ammo (3tons), so I only fire them when I've got a solid TAG shot. I'm sure most people run PPCs on this thing, but I just never enjoyed PPCs in this game. Which is ironic given my love of the Awesome from past games.
Per LD50's comment I built a TDR 5S I had collecting dust much in the same way and it's hardpoints are also high center so that should work out just fine. No jumpjets and a bit slower and fatter though. Thunderbolt should be way more durable than the Catapult that I used to run this kind of build on in the heavy class.
Most of the time I'm a brawler, but it's nice to have other mechs with a different playstyle to change things up.
They seem like almighty SRM boats and that hero packs a terrifying amount of boom for a medium... Was thinking of picking up a set.
I had fun with my Golden Boy for a bit, but I think it's outclassed by Griffin/Wolverine/Shadowhawks now. They can do the same type of builds, but with jump jets.
Welp. Traffic/some Drupal script apparently crashed OBN and our host shut us down temporarily. Of course they are being incredibly useful and telling me exactly what I need to do to fix it "Look at your code for anything that might use too much CPU". Fuckers.
Are the warhorns and special modules going to be eventually purchasable?
Because you could make an argument that the instant decay would be p2w. It also really makes me wish the archer wasn't in unseen hell (ala Morgan Kell's Archer)

Modules are going to be purchasable ingame. They basically just come with an extra graphical/sound effect or whatever if you get them with the clan package.
I believe the warhorns will be purchasable ingame as well, but I don't know for sure.

That build works ok on quickdraw too. It does run hotter so I switched to 2 LL instead of 2 ERLL. The quickdraw always seem to run hotter than shadowhawk. I took out the TAG for another ton of ammo so I can spam LRM even more.
What it is especially good at is grinding C-bills since you get so much assists and saviour kills. That match got me 200k without any premier time. It kinda makes me mad that I would work just as hard in my brawler build and do just as well in my own opinion but make less than half of that.

Thank god for that... was going to say radar dep for clan pre-purchase only? :argh: this also helps me make my mind up with only buying a madcat a la carte.
Apparently the missile boxes get removed on the Timber Wolves if you don't have any missiles mounted on them. Neato.
This just makes me want quads back even more! although if nonoffensive ends up being right about ER Meds basically being normal large lasers, i might have my wish!
No, what is awesome is @Infidel hooking us up with a new hosting service on the PA Dev server cluster. Hopefully we can get transitioned and use some real tools to diagnose the issue.
Edit: I am rude when I am tired. Thank you for appreciating it Heroth. The fact that you guys actually like the mechlab is basically the #1 thing that makes it worth it for me (and I don't think I'm putting too many words in her mouth when I say it's a huge motivator for Petra too).
Apparently the clan items XML was leaked. PGI quickly nuked the thread, but I'm putting out some feelers to see if I can't snag a saved copy someone had.
Finally listened to those leaked Warhorn sounds, and they all sound really cheezy, which I guess fits in with the icons/cockpit representations.
Was really hoping they would do something more theme/lore appropriate, like wolf howl / jaguar scream / bear roar / falcon scream type things.
Now that they have an established pipeline for including equip-able noisemakers, I anxiously await* the inevitable MC-purchased theme-appropriate Warhorns.

*not actually awaiting this.
Id pay good money for a the cheezy 'Waah waaaah waaaaaaah' sound whenever id get a kill.

This is open for all players that have registered before the announcement has been made. Even if you didn't get a Clan pack, download the PTR and hop in, so PGI and everyone can get some info on how the IS stacks up against these Clan mechs. If the limitations in play are too much, or not enough, this is a good time to see that before they're released into the wild.

Hydro, name your mechs! The people have spoken.
I think I'm half and half on it. I like classic Bear and Wolf, though I like the newer versions of the other two.
To a point...the new version of Falcon doesn't really look like a graphic that would be used on a hull.

is it only clan mechs that will get those, or everybody?
that's why we call it the struggle, you're supposed to sweat
Everybody.
This, along with fixing fall damage, means I can go back to flinging myself recklessly off of the peaks of various mountains!

I had a lot of fun with Kintaros.
And poptarts. With LRMs often the only viable counter, this module will be a no-brainer.

@mvrck you accidently typed 'arraignments' instead of arrangements at the top... and its awesome that its back up thanks for working on it

Holy crap. I can actually participate in this.
Thursday, June 12th 2014 for this 12-hour event, starting 11AM PDT / 2PM EDT / 6PM UTC
Now I just need to know how to get on the Public Test server...
The link for the PTR is actually in that post, so download it and get ready.
