Still, dynamic weather=:!:
I wonder if this game will let you play Allies vs. Allies in multiplayer, or Axis vs. Axis, etc.
It does sound like this'll kick a lot of ass, but the Eastern front should've been a given. Turning the Axis invasion around, scorched earth during the initial retreat, the battles at Kharkov... would've been great stuff.
Now playing: Teardown and Baldur's Gate 3 (co-op)
Sunday Spotlight: Horror Tales: The Wine
EDIT: Whoa, even more stand-alone than Dark Crusade! Even the ones who only own the original will be able to play against the ones who own the expansion. Linky.
That's really cool.

It's not going to be Dx10 only. Dx10 is just supported.
Man, that part where you had to ambush the nazi convoy?
Holy shit... that made all my gaming penors cum. It was just amazing.
I was literally screaming "YES!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!!", while cars were swerving, exploding into buildings, etc etc.
I love the game myself, despite being absolutely dreadful at it.
Very happy about this announcement! Would've also liked to see a Russian side, but I'm glad to see extra SP campaigns too.
Also ,more informaiton from the podcast:
-Panzer Elite will be focused on mobility, with no static defenses whatsoever.
-British will have more defensive units/structures than other Armies.
-Brits will have Lieutenant and Captain units which grant bonuses to your other squads, so strategy will apparently revolve around trying to keep them alive.
-One of the new British commander trees is Royal Canadian Artillery, with special abilities such as creeping barrage, anti-battery fire, and victory point fire (I think).
THIS IS EXACTLY HOW I THOUGHT BRITAIN SHOULD PLAY GOD YES.
And "Tea and Crumpets"
And "Bangers and Mash"
I don't know anything about Britainland.

Evidently.
There'll clearly be an "Emergency Dentistry" upgrade first.
Face it, the British were fighting the war for alot longer and with a lot less resources than you, we *know* grit; and I can't wait for that to be reflected in the game.
This banter is almost word for word to what Robert Shaw's character told Harrison Ford's character in Force 10 from Navarone. Srsly. Someone just needs to say something about The Queen and the Colonies.
Army/Race
Doctrine
Panzer Elite:
Units that are not doctrine specific:
- Halftracks with mortars ( not walking stuka? )
- Hetzer
- Marder 3
Verbrannte Erde / Scorched Earth
-?
Luftwaffe / Airforce
- Fallschirmjäger / Paratroopers
- Flak Vierling ( quad barreled anti air gun )
- Henschel Hs 129 Tank buster aircraft
Panzerjäger / Tank Hunters
- Jagdpanther
- Königstiger
British forces:
- Have mobile buildings!
- Can camo buildings!
- Gain no veterancy ( except officers )
Units that are not doctrine specific:
- Lieutenants
- Captains
- M5 Stuart tank
- Sherman Firefly tank
- Cromwell tank
- Tommys ( kind of British Riflemen )
- Universal Carrier ( Bren Carrier )
- Sappers? ( antitank infantry )
Royal Canadian Artillery
- M7 Priest
Royal Commandos
- Glider SAS troops
- Tetrach I light tank ( airdropped! )
Royal Engineers
- Churchill tank variants ( 290mm mortar, 2 pounder sponsons?, Flamethrower )
Basically all of the units on that list are confirmed, some of the stuff in paranthesis(like the chuchill stuff) is speculation.
Some also speuclate that the JagdTiger may be making an appearance, but I find that doubtful with the regular Tiger already in the game, and the Tiger II(King Tiger) coming in the expansion.
As far as play modes. No you will not be able to do mirror matches, it's still Allies vs Axis only. You can, however, mix up the new factions. So British/American vs Panzer Elite/Wehrmacht, or British/British vs Wehrmach/Wehrmach, etc.
I haven't been able to confirm this with Buggo, but I do believe the Dynamic Weather is going to carry over into the multiplayer as well.
Speaking of multiplayer, we're also getting TWO new game modes in the expansion on top of annihilation and victory point control.
And yes the game supports DX10, but it's also backwards compatible with DX9. It's basically the DX10 upgraded version of the essence engine(see: What's coming in patch 1.7), on top of what's already in the game. So it will NOT be Vista only.
Also, on the single player front, there's going to be not two full length campaigns. A British campaign set during the battle for Caen, and a Germany campaign set during Operation Market Garden. We finall get to be the bad guys!
That's like, a video game first!
My dad is in the artillery so this is extra cool. There are 105mm shells strewn about my house.

Build the medic station near the frontline, and when they collect enough wounded soldiers you get a free squad. And enemy squads do not automatically engage medics. But if the person you're playing against is like me, they'll shoot the medic just because. I know I sure as shit don't want you getting a free squad :P.
The brits will probably just get a medic bunker like everyone else, although I wouldn't doubt they get some form of a mobile triage center(supposedly they do get mobile buildings of some form).

Hahaha, oh wow. That was good.
"THE KEY TO VICTORY IS TO AMASS TROOP TRANSPORTS!"
Med Station is just for collecting wounded, has nothing to do with healing squads or reinforcing them. So there's really no reason to not do both unless you're just that strapped for resources.
But retreating heavily wounded squads to reinforce and letting them hang out around a traige center or giving them a medkit to be healed is always a good idea.
