Is it worth picking up splinter cell 3D? I just recently learned it's actually a portable chaos theory, which got me pretty interested in it.
Yeah I heard it's not very good at all. Like it's based on the mobile version or something, so it's missing a lot of features from the original game, and just generally feels worse than even the PS2 release.
I'm starting to have a sort of love/hate relationship with Dream Team. Timed hits from Super Mario RPG I was quite fond of, but having to sit through a mini-game each time I want to use a special attack and some of the elaborate things you have to defend against are starting to make battles feel really drawn out.
So I went ahead and bought the Limited Edition of Project X Zone before it becomes absolutely impossible to find. What's the general consensus on the game?

REDMOND, Wash.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Five great Nintendo 3DS games, including the top three best-selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time, are getting a new lower price. Together these five games have sold more than 9 million combined physical and digital units in the United States alone, and represent some of the most fun game experiences available today. The five games are must-haves for anyone who owns a Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 2DS system, and their new price represents an even better value for consumers.
Starting April 22, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D will be available in the Nintendo eShop on Nintendo 3DS and in retail stores at a suggested retail price of just $29.99 each.
In order, Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land and New Super Mario Bros. 2 represent the top three best-selling Nintendo 3DS games of all time in the United States - each one has sold more than 2.15 million physical and digital units in the U.S. alone. All five of the newly discounted games star classic Nintendo characters and franchises, and their strong sales over time demonstrate the longevity of Nintendo's games. The games make great gifts, engaging entertainment for families and other spring break travelers, or just a way to introduce kids to the fun of video games.
*Data regarding physical sales of games are from the NPD Group. Data regarding digital downloads of games and combined physical/digital life-to-date numbers are from Nintendo's internal sales figures. All numbers, unless otherwise stated, are specific to the United States only.

Ah, Animal Crossing. I played that every day for a while, especially during the winter in order to maximize opportunities for snowmen. When spring started, it felt good to be able to take days off without it mattering. And then I realized that I could take all of the days off without it mattering.
Never again, Animal Crossing. I'm free now.

I got $60 in credits, and none of those games. I think I'll go with Animal Crossing. I never played an AC game.

That's *kind* of annoying that the items in the March sale are the ones getting dropped. I was fortunate enough to get DKCR for that price(ish), at least.
Thus, the others all die before tuxkamen dies to the vote. Hence, tuxkamen survives, village victory.

Are Mario Kart 7 or Super Mario 3D Land worth checking out if I'm gonna play Mario Kart 8 soon, and already played the hell out of 3D World?

Mario Kart 7 is the best Mario Kart to date, and even if you get MK8, it would be worth it to have as a portable option on trips and such.
3D Land is absolutely fantastic and worth owning. It's a standalone game with some fantastic level design and an awesome final boss. Also the second half of the game is amazing.

Super Mario 3D Land is lovely and I think I might even enjoy it more than Super Mario 3D World, all things considered.
The levels in the game are a bit more linear than 3D World, either due to hardware limitations or design choices, but they're just as much fun. Definitely worth a play.
On Mario Kart 7, I'd say spend all your hype on Mario Kart 8, and then pick up MK7 down the line when you feel like you're a bit "over" MK8.
I seriously just bought 2 copies of Mario Kart 7 yesterday, missing Targets buy 1 get one free sale by a day and now i learn i could have saved 20$ by waiting a week.
I'm so close to beating Rune Factory IV I can almost taste it.
I swear though, if this is another false ending and there's still more content I'm going to be blown away. It definitely hasn't worn out it's welcome but my 3DS library has grown substantially due to a few sales since I bought RFIV and I really want to move on. I haven't even played the demo of Bravely Default yet. The amount of content RFIV has is astounding.
I'm sad that we'll never get another Rune Factory but the series definitely went out with a bang. This is the best iteration of Harvest Moon, simply put.

Not saying these prices are 'unfair' or 'too high' or whatever but... as a sale that sucks. Going from $50 to $30 is meaningful. Going from $40 to $30 is "Oh... a lot of places already sold them for that or lower. Thanks I guess?"

That's pretty much how I always feel about Nintendo "sales".
Steam and mobile has spoiled us. Nintendo will never give a truly good sale price because they're afraid of devaluing their brand.

Yeah the lack of more basic specials in the regular world is annoying considering you fight hordes of enemies . Defense timing is stupid precise compared to older games too.
I could probably make a list of complaints about this game which is a shame because the rest of the series is pretty much perfect
Its not a bad game its just not up to par

One would hope that when the MSRP is lower, the sale price is as well. So y'know, people selling those $40 games for $30 might start selling the $30 for $25 or $20.
It still gets me that a three and a half year old game for a portable system can retail for $30, when I can go grab AAA titles from last summer for $20.
I like Nintendo and all, but their pricing always boggles me. I don't think that having basically launch-month games for $20 would devalue their brand in any way.

Why reduce the price when enough people keep buying it at (near) full price?

It just seems like they'd probably have more sales this far down the line with a much deeper sale. Especially with Mario Kart 8 right around the corner, I would think a fire sale on 7 would probably grab a lot of people who wanted it. As it stands, if I saw MK8 for $40, and MK7 for $30, I don't know why I wouldn't just spend the extra ten bucks for the newest one.
I'm sure there's mounds of data supporting it, but a sale putting 3+ year old games into the 'new game' price range doesn't seem like much of a sale. If they cut all of them to $10 for a digital version I'd buy them all at once outright.
I'm not saying 'Nintendo doesn't know metrics hurt durr' I'm saying I personally am not enticed by this particular price cut.
Recently while browsing the Nintendo sections of places like Target and Best Buy I still see Other M in stock. And it's still near full price ($30-$40, can't exactly recall). Even DS Pokemons are still at the upper end of DS game price points.
