Help me find a mental health support forum

poshnialloposhniallo Registered User regular
Hi

So, my wife has serious social anxiety disorder, combined with other issues such as memory loss. I have Crohns disease, chronic pain, and some degree of general anxiety disorder, although those may literally be aspects of Crohns and my home situation. Me and my doc are not sure. Point is, it's very very hard to deal with, and the woman I live with is recognisable as the person I married about 25% of the time - the rest of the time she is just... baffling.

I have reached the absolute end of my tether, but for long, complex reasons to do with children, her capacities, and our finances, I don't think divorce would make our lives better.

I've been reading up on aggression and social anxiety, and everything I read says find a good online forum as well as talk to professionals. We're already seeing professionals, but I need to find a good forum to talk about it on.

My problem is, is which forum? There are so many forums on mental health issues, on support for victims, and support for families of victims. It's hard to judge which ones are good. I love these here PA forums, but I need some much more specialised ongoing contact with people who have experience in this area.

Anyone have any advice? Anyone go to a particular forum (for any kind of mental health issue) and have positive experiences?

Thanks.

I figure I could take a bear.

You should maybe PM me. Depending on the details I may be able to think of something, or have some more specific insight, but I don't know if you want to post that stuff publicly.
