I can believe that people might rather hope an after-school special just doesn't get much play rather than take the people to court for breach of contract.

neill degrasse tyson to appear in hollow-earth documentary!
I feel like telling somebody you are going to do something and then doing something else maybe invalidates the contract.
Like, good faith and what not.
Maybe I'm wrong.
You can write it into a contract that you reserve the right to knowingly misrepresent them and their statements, and if they sign it, they would have an extremely hard (or at least extremely expensive) time winning a legal battle.
I don't know why anyone would sign a contract like that, but if you do, it's pretty much your ass.
Bill Nye, Mechanical Engineer and popularizer of science is hear to tell us all about the crystal skulls and how they couldn't possibly be made with human tools.
Tyson has such a way of speaking, whether written for him or just off the cuff, and he's very good at explaining things.
One of my favorite talks is with him and Stephen Colbert (out of character) at the Kimberly Academy. It's so awesome because not only do they cover a wide range of awesome topics, but also because of Tysons poetic quotes all through the talks. This is one of my favorite things to watch and I can watch it over and over and over again.

So very true. Also, he's one of a very few people (another being Fred Rogers) who could actually get me, without a second thought, to breathe in with him when he said, "Let's all take a breath." It's just so obvious that he really enjoys talking to, engaging, and interacting with his audience.
When the new series started I was kinda down on the opening theme, mostly because I was comparing it to the original. But now, six episodes in, I have to say it's really grown on me.
The Inexplicable Universe: Unsolved Mysteries is available on Netflix, and I am watching it now. It's also great, and I highly suggest it if you like Cosmos. It's less flashy but... it's Tyson talking about the Universe for a few hours so... ya know, awesome.
Man, tonight's episode was a double whammy. While introducing basic scientific concepts, it was definitely focused on sending a different message, and they do it in a way that is easy to grasp and reasonable to a general audience.
I see what they are doing with this show, and I like it.

What a scoop!
I don't even want to think about how bad the results would be if that survey was done in America.
So that's a bit better.
Like I said: this bullshit is Expelled all over again.
Only 6 episodes, but fun so far
Well that would explain most of Voyager....

Holy shit, #9.
Its why we have so many drug resistant strains today.
Cause in the mid/late 90s there was a mad rush to go to the doctor for antibiotics every time you got a virus like the flu.
And the doctors, not wanting to deal with you and your stupidity, just blindly wrote billions of prescriptions because what harm could it do.
Well, it did a lot of harm and we're having to deal with it today.
I've known it for so long, I have no memory of learning it.
My science shame knows no bounds
With the power of the internet it's always on
Whenever you want to watch it
I know, right? The way Niel was looking back I cold just feel the tension in the room.

(Skip the first 6 minutes of introduction if you want to get right to the talk)
The idea of John Dimaggio using that voice to talk about Atoms is fantastic.
I think you mean it's OUTRAGEOUS
