So the key to the Triple Threat is that you need to just run away from enemies that are fighting you from too far away
I didn't really care for the Strider.
I didn't really care for the Triple Threat.
Then I put a Triple Threat on a Strider and IIIII HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE THE POWWWEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!!
It is pretty amazing, isn't it? Running around just hurling grenades into everything, around every corner, dashing through every open space, titan punching the guys who flee out the shadowy corners from your giant grenades like rats fleeing a sinking ship.
Also, I've just figured out how to wallrun backwards to maintain momentum while shooting at people behind me. It's just like Outcast. /tear
My ping all the way to Europe is under 200 which I have to say, is pretty fucking impressive. Microsoft has a hell of a backbone on their Azure servers.

I think I glitched the Pimp your Titan Achievement. I've customized 3 titans and no unlock.
I want my points
I unlocked this via my American internet connection last night on Origin - lots of you already have me on there so let me know if there's games going on this evening (GMT time so midday for you guys I guess).
The cleverest thing I've seen so far that didn't really happen in the beta is people running into a building then double backing and sticking to a wall to kill you when you chase them. There's been a few times where I've spent ages trying to work out where I'm getting shot from, never think to look in the top corners.
Also I was surprised with the campaign mode - it doesn't have enough plot development and hardly any story arc but it does do a fantastic job of explaining what the maps and locations are. That's something I always felt was kind of lacking in COD and Battlefield - now in Titanfall I feel like I know what all of these ships and creatures and structures are, it adds a little to the immersion.

Hallo there fellow GMTer! I shall too be playing in the Grand Master Timezone. We should do that together!
Titanfall needs Last Stand from CoD. Everytime I get kicked, I wish the game would let me plug the bastard before my guy dies.
/fist-shake
You have rematch, or whatever it is, which is a fairly common burn card. Let's your respawn right where you died so you can jump kick the guy in the back.

I'll keep an eye out for that card, haven't seen that one yet. Been getting a lot of burn cards for weapons I haven't unlocked. Go figure.
Imagine what "cheese' could exist if someone tried to copy Velveeta.

You can still use those even if you haven't unlocked them. Think of them as a one life sneak peak.
I reached Hardpoint defense nirvana yesterday. It was me hanging on a wall in a corner at A in Boneyard with a suppressed CAR, Active Radar Pulse and infinite amped Arc Mines.

I bet the AUS servers are early Azure nodes they will be burning in with titanfall.
The fact they prioritized such critical, probably multi-billion dollar pair of datacenters of theirs for gaming first shows how much Microsoft is banking on this title.

Let's play Mario Kart or something...
any confirmation on UK digital price for Titanfall? Out at midnight? My local GAME is doing a midnight launch, but after my HALO 4 experience *shudder* never again.
I've found on Last Titan Standing, there are a few good spots on maps that allow you to duck behind cover and pop up and peg an enemy with 40mm or the Plasma one.
They need to do something about how they group teams up. This morning, my team consisted of between Level 8s and 25s. We were matched against a group consisting of a 20, 36, 38, 45, Prestige 48, and Prestige 50. Needless to say, it was the worst beating I've witnessed yet.
While I agree that being insensitive is an issue, so is being oversensitive.
Yeah but I'd say more often than not Prestige and level don't mean anything. I was dominating the hell out of a Prestige 2 level 30 dude. He just plays more.
I think in the early days it's a decent sign of ability - most people who are at level 50 or prestiged have played a LOT over the last few days. Within a week though more people will be there - I'm assuming the game matchmakes with some kind of TruSkill ranking that'll be hidden and always takes a few weeks to get people in the right place.
I can't play racing games at launch - I get slaughtered by people who know how to do racing.
To that guy earlier who was wondering if this game would work on his laptop; there are a few maps that are more demanding than the beta maps, two come to mind for me. So if you were only running okay in the beta you might have 2 maps that I know of that will give you FPS drops.
I think I'm going to be able to prestige this weekend.
A. Leveling is REALLY fast compared to old CoD's, it seems.
B. I am not an amazeballs player, so it's proof that prestige doesn't mean much. :P
Also, nothing yet has been as fun as the time I ziplined over a sniping little bitch who had been ruining my team's day, popped him mid-zipline, kept going and jumpkicked his teammate.
What is this I don't even.

Man, burn cards are super great on Last Titan Standing, since they can last as long as 4 full rounds if you manage to not let your pilot die. Especially the ones that amp up your anti-Titan weapon, or the map hack ones.
Everything looks beautiful when you're young and pretty

Sweet sweet killing with PA'ers last night. Thanks for dragging me through the campaign. I just wish it would tell me which missions I won and lost though. Anyone aware of a potential companion app?
Anyone know if there's any way to play in full-screen windowed mode? Apparently playing it normal full-screen messes with f.lux, and I can really feel the difference in the evening on my eyes.
Same as in TF2, -windowed -noborder in the start up options
I suppose the reason there is a limit on how many times you can prestige is that since each prestige makes the bars towards the next fill even faster you would eventually reach a point where each prestige immediately triggered the next, causing a dimension-rifting singularity through which you would simply fall out of existence.

Getting beat savagely is the one of the quickest ways to learn, if you don't get lost in the "getting beat savagely" part.
How did they do it? What did they do? Answering these questions with things are not like "kicked the shit out of me" will help you get better!

It is very hard to learn anything to improve when you are simply dying instantly over and over.
Secondly, not everybody playing a game is interested in improving their skill at any cost. Most people would prefer to have an enjoyable, competitive game against people at a range of skill levels close to their own (some a little worse, some equal, some a little better) and slowly get better at the game naturally through practice...not by beating their head against a wall until they achieve some kind of breakthrough insight. This is a video game, people play them to have fun and relax. It's not a pro sport or boot camp.
Hopefully once the game has been out a little longer and there is a larger pool of data on people's skill and outcomes to pull from matchmaking will get better.

Do you actually get anything for prestiging or is it just so you can keep filling bars?
You get an XP bonus that lets you fill bars faster.
So you can prestige again!
OK in all seriousness I don't come from a background with the CoD games or anything so what is the actual point of prestiging? Just bragging rights?
There is an achievement for getting the highest prestige level (which I think is 10) if that's something you're in to. The hardest one (for me) is going to get the one where you have to
kill all evacuating pilots single-handedly.
Spoiled out of politeness.
Hmm according my my achievements I'm 77% to getting the 'win every campaign level as a militia pilot'. I wish I knew which ones. Anywho, I'mm most certainly be looking to play this tonight. I like "easy" achievements. Come back a round earlier this time @Johnny Chopsocky.
Essentially you have three options if the matchmaking screws you.
1: Leave the lobby and join again, hope for a better match
2: Deal with it and try to learn from the players that outclass you
The reason these are the first two is because you can't really scramble teams after a match, since you'll break up parties in the process, and that's an even worse user experience that going into an unbalanced matchup.
Then, of course, there's option 3: Keep playing even though it might be frustrating for a couple weeks, apparently there's a matchmaking algorithm in place, and after a week or so it'll learn where everyone's at and your probability of getting a balanced matchup will be extremely high.

Sometimes it's fun to fill bars. You don't have to prestige if you don't want.
Seeing bars move.
It's basically there to extend gameplay for hardcore players while levelling the playing field by robbing them of their toys.
