*goes to look at the weekend SE sale with Enhanced Steam*
*sees wall of green*
:rotate:
To be fair I don't have the hitman games, last remnant(on the pc) or mini ninjas?
And why isn't FFXIV on that damn list?????
EDIT: Damn, same for the batman sale, except the lego games.
The only Batman I'm interested in and don't have yet is Origins. And while I've double-dipped on Asylum and City I should probably crack open my PS3 copy and play it there first.
They're not listed on the sale page, but FFVII and VIII are on sale for 33% off too. Dunno if they'll get a daily treatment, still need to pick up VIII but I can wait.
Urgh. Steam sales are getting to me badly this week. Have already added four more things into gift inventory when I technically was at a surplus already.
Need to find something else to look at instead of steam for a while.
Edit: Not working. Five things now.
I'm torn about Arkham Origins. This looks like the cheapest it's been anywhere and I'm tempted to pull the trigger. But I have SO MANY other AAA quality games that I have not even played yet that there is a good chance it will be even cheaper by the time I get around to it. I mean, I'm right in the middle of Mass Effect 1. I still have the 2 sequels, Tomb Raider, Last Remnant, Sleeping Dogs, the Alan Wake games, .... good lord the list is so long.
My advice: if you're going to pick it up, just jump into it right away. Get your money's worth! I had just bought this game 2-3 weeks ago for $13 and finished it last week. If I had waited to buy it until now, I would have saved a few bucks, but at least I played through it this time. There are so many games I've bought because I thought they were at a good sale price, only to never play them and see the price drop even lower a few months later.
That being said, Arkham Origins is pretty good! It's pretty much more Arkham City. There are a few added frustrations, unfortunately, but I still enjoyed it. I've decided not to bother with the challenges, though, which is the first time I'm doing that in an Arkham game.
I spent 5+ hours the other day trying to meet the requirements for one particular challenge where you have to use all your quick gadgets, get a 50+ combo, etc. It was infuriating, and yet, I couldn't stop myself from retrying it over and over again.
If anyone hasn't played the Lagacy of Kain games, now's the time with 8 bucks for all of them (except the original blood omen )
I know, I was sad that of all the ones, the first wasn't in the bundle.
I mean, I have it around here somewhere. I've never played it, though. Only Soul Reaver 2. I'm thinking that after Darksiders II, it might be time to go for a run through that franchise.

All I can figure is that because Activision published the first game instead of Eidos we'll never see it. There's no real reason at this point for SE to acquire it from them, and I'm sure Activision couldn't give two shits, particularly with Nosgoth doing the series no favors.
It's depressing, for sure, to not be able to complete the series on Steam, but at least I still have my PS1 copy.

The challenge system in Origins was godawful, especially for the (limited) predator rooms.
My advice on Origins is don't pick it up if you've played Arkham City recently. It's pretty good, but it's not as good as Rocksteady's work, and Origins feels heavily derivative of City in a lot of ways rather than innovative like the jump from Asylum -> City. If you haven't played City in awhile, and will play this before the summer sale, go ahead and get it. It's still some good Batmanning.
Has Dark Souls 1 ever gone on sale at its current price?
On the subject of Arkham Origins, it wasn't terrible, but I think it may have soured me a little bit on what was previously one of my favorite franchises ever, just because it was too much of the same. I hope that Arkham Knight improves on the formula enough to get me rehyped.
Also, there was a room in Origin that caused the area to glitch out once I walked into it. The environment turned invisible and Batman would just walk off screen and the next area wouldn't start to load when I tried to leave. Reloading the game caused Batman to fall through the floor. I had to edit the initialization files to get out. It happened every time I went back to that room (which had a trophy in it, that I had to find by stumbling around in the dark). So yeah, that didn't do much for my opinion of the game.
I think the cheapest Dark Souls 1 has ever been is $5.99.
It doesn't look like it's on sale although you can probably find a 20% off voucher for Greenman Gaming
Interesting, I might do that if it doesn't go on sale again soon. I actually already own the game on 360, but I barely got anywhere and I've come to feel so much more comfortable sitting at my PC than my TV.
Neo Scavenger for 1 buck on this weeks Humble Sale.
Is this game really as free form and good as I hear it is? It's basically like playing a game of D and D with a good DM, except instead of dungeons and dragons it's future cannibalism and death via exposure?
*sigh* and I was doing so well with my Steam spending freeze, too.

There's a bit, near the end of that game, when the framerate drops to the low single digits. I don't know if they ever fixed it, but the "solution" I found on the Steam community thread for it was to turn off DX 11 and/or other fancy features until the framerate becomes manageable again.
I think it was just the one room in the game, and it's part of the very last level, so it didn't bother me too much cause I haven't gone back, but I hope they fixed it.

It's been on sale a bunch of times including recently so it just depends on how badly you want to play it. It's definitely worth full price (I have over 120 hours on PS3 for it and it's probably my favourite game of all time) but I feel like it has been on sale several times recently. If you want to play it now, take the plunge. If you aren't sure when you'll get to it, I would setup an account at isthereanydeal.com and let that site keep an eye on sales for you.

Final Fantasy VII is on sale on the Square Enix site for £3.40
So, turns out Betrayer actually has the option to turn off the Black and White style.
Still looks super pretty. I'm not sure whether to go with that or the more intended style. I kind of like having colour because it reduces the over whelming feeling that I'm not supposed to be here and something is going to kill me.
Yet, the over whelming fear that I'm not supposed to be here seems to be the games thing so far too.

@Sumanai noticed I was at 999 games after I bought the humble weekly bundle and somehow found something in his keylist I did not yet own. Thanks for Doc Clock: The Toasted Sandwich of Time which is my 1000th game on steam.

I've haven't played it myself, but my understanding is that Marlow Briggs is a surprisingly competent action game that feels a lot like God of War. Probably worth $2.50

Gunslinger is fucking dope. Gunslinger is fucking awesome is what Gunslinger is. Arcadey FPS action with Skillshot style bonuses (like Bulletstorm), set in a cool Wild West world with duels and Colts and dynamite (like Red Dead), with a neat art style and RPG-lite skill system (like Borderlands) and the entire story is narrated (like Bastion) by an unreliable narrator that changes events, enemies and locations on the fly.
It's not so long that it out stays it's welcome, it's fun and funny and a blast and it my favorite game of the year.
That's my pull quote I now use to persuade people to play and buy Gunslinger.

I can't agree enough with this. Defender's Quest is a deeply fantastic game. RPG meets Tower Defense. I can't recommend it enough to those who like TD games.
Neo Scavenger is a blast, even though it's in early access. Updates seem to be coming along nicely, and regularly.
and I hate to admit it, but I enjoyed Magical Diary. It's somewhere between a dating sim and a visual novel. Think Analog A Hate Story. I know @Pixelated Pixie really enjoyed it.
