Bringing this back up to share this picture with you guys:

This is Hurricane Jimena, as seen from the ISS. Along with hurricanes Kilo and Ignacio, it became one of three category four storms in the Pacific at the same time. This hasn't happened since weather satellites started looking at the world's oceans back in the 60s. Thankfully for us, it doesn't look like we're going to have to worry about it, as it's tracking north, as is Ignacio. The surfers are happy because east facing shores are seeing bigger waves than usual as a result of the storms. Kilo has lasted long enough, and traveled far enough, that it's now Typhoon Kilo, the change in name reflecting a crossing of the international date line.

So how have your summers been, SE++? Can't see the sky for all the wildfire smoke? Praying for El Niño to hit like a truck this year?
