Does anybody have any experience with the Executive Hotel Pacific? I will be without transportation once I get there, so a hotel within walking distance to the convention center is a must.

Hopeful First Time Attendee of PAX Prime 2014.

Okay, now looking to take a friend with me to PAX Prime, but I can't find a cheap hotel nearby that has two beds in the same room. They need to post the hotel list already!

After buying tickets, you can check OnPeak. They have special rates. I would check out possible hotels now and prioritize where you would want to stay. Then get the room after it becomes available. I seem to remember that the rates are better than you could get on your own.

Kyle posted hotels from last year (not near airport).... I hope this helps:

As far as the Paramount goes, I went in two years and ago and it looked nice. I also believe that is where the keynote speech and the Omegathon's final round is held correct?

I was unable to go to Prime last year, so I am sorry if my memory is rusty.

You're thinking of the Paramount Theater, which is completely unrelated to the Paramount Hotel - the two are a couple blocks away from each other.

Thanks, i should have been more specific. Has anyone had experience with, or stayed at the Paramount Hotel on Pine Street?

I know that this can normally can't be done, but is there some deal that PAX makes to make it possible? Thanks!

mod edit: merged from thread titled "booking hotel under 18??"

No. All the normal rules for the hotels in question would apply based on their own policies. The only thing the PAX partner hotel system does is get a guaranteed lower rate at the partner hotels.

Like zerzhul said, this is controlled by the hotels themselves, and has nothing to do with PAX. It's a question of liability, and because you need to be a certain age to enter into contract with the hotel.

Your best bet will probably be to wait until tickets go on sale, and then watch the Room Share thread that will inevitably come up. Lots of people will be looking for additional roomies, and you'll likely find a place to crash there.

Between you and me, Peggy, I smoked this Juul and it did UNTHINKABLE things to my mind and body...

Or get someone you know and trust who is 18 to go with you. Depends on your comfort level, of course. Just remember that people under 18 will have problems playing some of the games, legally.
