Yes, that is what I said. I feel pretty sure, since my PS4 talks to Sony just about every time I turn it on, they could pinpoint the date it was activated down to the hour, if not the minute or second.

I bought it. I'm okay with them saying, "Well, we have to date your time of purchase from the consoles release" as that is fair if not spectacular.

When my 360 died the first time Microsoft didn't weasel out of correcting their problem because I couldn't email them a receipt.

Just so we're clear, they haven't actually done this yet right? You've just said hypothetically if you had a problem then Sony might grumble at you about not having a receipt, maybe.

    Right?

If you made a post actually detailing a problem I missed it and it's not real clear from your post history.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about not having the receipt. If you NEED it, you can get it off your card statement or call the store and have them email a copy to you as well.

    Right, it hasn't happened.

I was just commenting on another poster who linked to Sony's warranty page where it says if you don't have the receipt, your console isn't covered by the warranty.

Whether or not this is policy that they actually stick to, I have no idea.

It only struck me because of the aformentioned 360 issue, where I suppose Microsoft could have not issued massive console replacements because of lack of receipts.

I get though that there is a difference between a monumental systematic hardware failure and what will (hopefully) be a small number of people trying to get their PS4's worked on.

So I always get a lot of flack when I mention this companies clear and concise terms and conditions for some reason. It doesnt matter who the vendor is, if you buy your item through an auction site, they state they will not honor it. It's a straight conditional statement, it has to be sold by an authorized vendor, AND not be from an auction site. if you get your ps4 by dell through ebay, it does not qualify based on the wording of their T&C. Personally to me that would never be worth $40-60 that we have seen the discounts amount to.

I was wrong about The Swapper. It starts out as a fun and clever puzzle game, but it appears to turn into a "sequence break this part, and hit just the right pixel super quick" type of thing. Lame :(

I don't remember needing reflexes for the Swapper at all. The timing-based puzzles were not difficult for me to execute because of how time slows down while you are aiming. I played on the PC though; is that different on the PS4?

I'm almost done with The Swapper, and I haven't encountered anything that required precise timing or pixel precision. The slowdown makes everything manageable.

I'm thinking about picking up the Gold headset for my PS4, but I have a few questions about it's size. I have a very large noggin, and want to make sure they'd fit. Are they very adjustable? About how big would they go?

    Thanks!

  • ErrorError Registered User regular
They are adjustable length wise but if you have a very wide noggin you might be disappointed.

So here's a pickle. I'm upgrading this weekend to a PS4. I have a gift card from Best Buy that'll kill twenty bucks off the full price. But at Gamestop I can get it for the regular price, but with three free months of Playstation Plus and a free digital download of Infamous Second Son. I've been dying to play that, but I don't super trust digital downloads. As much as I distrust GameStop, it sounds like the better deal.

    What do you guys think?

I haven't had any trouble with the purely digital games on PS4 so far. I say go for the gamestop deal.

PSPlus is fairly reliable then? Hmm, that definitely does make it more tempting. This is, I'd be getting paid just two days before the deadline on the deal. So a sense of urgency is in play. Eh, fuck it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Has anyone had issues with the PS4 killing the internet connection for everything else in a household? Every single time my brother turns the PS4 on I lose my connection on my desktop which is connected to the modem with a cable. After that it just cuts out every few minutes and I can't do anything.

Very reliable. In addition, the six games you'll be able to download for free during the three months of Plus will more than make up for the $20 you would have saved at BB.

But understand that you are probably going to get addicted to PSPlus...

It sounds like faulty IP assignment with DNS, Stragint. My first instinct is that your modem is trying to assign the same IP address to multiple devices, and since only one device at a time can hold an IP Address, the other is getting unassigned and not getting a new one. Have you tried putting an actual router between your PC & PS4 and the Modem? That way the modem only has to handle a single address (to the router) and the router can handle forwarding data to the correct devices.

Yes, it's been doing weird shit with my wifi since I got it two months ago. At first it wouldn't connect at all, then it connected but nothing else would connect. Have had to power cycle my router and modem like 5 times and it finally seems ok now.

For any fellow Canadians, futureshop and bestbuy are having a crazy sales on the ps4 gold wireless headset. Usually the msrp on those are 99$ but are selling for 60$ until august 21st. Both are sold out online but you may get lucky at a local store. Myself, I was able to get toys r us to price match. I know the headset aren't perfect but for 60$ they are worth it it seems and beat the crap that came with the ps4 when it comes to microphone for online play.

Does sound like an IP adresse conflict. Is the ps4 configured to used a static IP? Can a you guys switch to DHCP? You guys must have a router at home to share the internet. Have look look at the router setting and IP address table? Is the ps4 connecting wireless or wired? How is your computer, wired or wireless? If wireless, could be a band issue. If you do have a router, it might be worth it to do a factory reset on it and reconfigure everything. Also might be worth checking for a firmware upgrade for it.

So somehow Reaper of Souls makes an already awesome game even more awesome-er. Intense dark magic or something, I dunno. The little tweaks in gameplay like temporary stat boosts or bonus XP for killstreaks is really cool. The loot drops are still handled by a kind and loving god too. It's raining rares all over my Crusader. Got my first two legendaries off of Leoric too :D

Also, the Crusader is really cool! It's worth double dipping if you already bought it on PS3.

Picked up Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare and it's fairly enjoyable, even if only to finally have some local co-op

Feels a bit lacking though with only one split screen mode, but should be fun here and there

Ya, it's like the Garden Ops survival mode but I think split screen is endless instead of just 10 levels.

It can get difficult, but does so without feeling too intense if that makes sense. It's pretty lighthearted.

edit - also "boss mode", where it sounds like you can have one player using the companion app? I'll have to look into that.
