So ya, Nightblade with Resto Staff is a fantastic synergy for PVP.
With siphoning strikes, you can get by with wearing full heavy armor and have no mana regen problems. Having tons of mana means you can constantly AOE fear people. Stamina only needs to be used for the "immovable" buff, which you keep up 100% of the time so you are always leeching and fearing.
Right now I still have a 2 hander on swap with teleport strike and reverse slash, which is basically my execute ability. I put on immovable, teleport strike into a group, swap to resto staff and AOE fear. Then start dotting everything and leeching back all my mana to keep fearing.
It can also be one of the best PVE healers as well. Since it has pretty much zero mana issues, you can use those high magicka costing resto staff skills over and over. (or at least I hear they are higher cost than templars built in heals? Dunno) With health funnel morph and resto staff, it gives two sources of regen on your group. On top of that you drop your AOE heal and that resto-staff shield... makes for a super good healer.
Only issue is I didn't level my resto-staff while leveling. So I'm doing most veteran content with it now... my regen skill still sucks with its rank and resto staff only being 20 for me. Need those passives to really boost the build.
Also, since its a full heavy armor wearing build, it can easily put on the taunt skill and tank while using a resto-staff. Might be kinda hard though, having to stop and block.
Is there a certain level for when PvP is a good idea? Like if I go in at 16 am I going to get murderkilled as soon as I get there?
Also I'm shocked at how well ESO has broken down the holy trinity way of thinking. Dungeons functionally work the same as in other MMOs but there's so much freedom, it's been terrifying me since I started but I'm finally coming to terms with it. At the moment I tend to tank dungeons, but more often than not I end up healing half way a fight, occasionally using pure dps abilities if I need to. I've seen healers start off-tanking, DPS start healing, it's chaotic but everyone has the tools required to be important, it's amazing.

I would estimate that over 75% of the people in PVP are level 10-30.
Most anyone below level 50 is not to hard for me to kill in a 1v1. But 1v1's are extremely rare. 3 or 4 decent level 20's are extremely hard for me to take right now. Part of it is my resto staff is just not leveled though. And part of it is that this game did a stupidly good job with how stats work in regard to the difference between level 10 and say VR10. If anything, those extra passives are what higher levels will have as an advantage over you.
You wont be seeing crazy overpowered people until VR6 or so. That's where some of the good PVP gear is.
Crafted gear will also play a big part in how murderkilled you might get. For those doing crafts... get that critical resist trait researched. Easily one of the better traits to have on gear.
I'm stuck in the low bank account blues. Can't access my 30 days of game time because I won't try and authorize the sub when I do not have the $15 available in my account yet. Payday is Thursday, then I can join the reindeer games again!
Side note. After you have 10 people in guild, let's say I murder them all, and boot them. Do I lose the Guild bank?
I ended up re-rolling to a Dragon Knight on the Ebonheart side, and I'm having a lot more fun. I honestly think I'm allergic to high elves and most elves in general. The dark elves get a pass because they eschew the typical elf stereo types, which makes them more entertaining. When I watch the LOTR movies I start to nod off during the scenes in Rivendell, and I found myself doing the same whenever Queen Kate talks in ESO.

1) im drinking this game like a fine fine wine. i aint rushing shit. Its kinda fun to just quest and bop around. I always find qs i missed when strolling through the offroad places.
2) @mojojoeo is your trading depot- Have runes you made and want runes in return to break down? Make 27 cloth hands and need them broke down? I am your man.
3) levelling feels like one of these two at every few levels- "My god i need 3 skillpoints to get all the stuff i want!" or "the hell am i going to do with this skill point.... i dont need it yet"
4) Did we ever decide on a Pvp Zone? Jabba will be packed.... did we choose another?
5) Wolve Tallow Stella and I broke the last boss of dungeon 2 in a hilarious way. She spawns 4 very tough adds.... they are supposed to despawn and then she brings on more. Well they quit despawning. We literally had 20 something adds by our final attempt as even a wipe was not despawning them. glorious bugs.

I'm playing two different characters in different factions. One does Clothing and Woodworking, the other does Blacksmithing and Enchanting. I play one until my inventory fills up, then I go back to town and craft, feed my horse, and make a bank run. Then I switch to the other and do the same. I'm enjoying the shit out of this game.

I would set your home to wabbajack for now and guest around til we find one that is more of a middleground on population.
I guested to Chrysamere last night and it was alright. There are a few more I need to guest to before I've seen them all. A few are also not worth looking into because its full on a single faction and totally empty on another.
Wabba is indeed fun, but is packed. It doesn't mean you really wait to get in, but there is a bit of latency. Totally playable, but noticable enough that a slightly less populated campaign would be ideal.
Its also still release rush and a lot of the people PVPing now probably wont in a few weeks. Or some of the bigger guilds might realize its stupid to cluster it up on Wabba for the same reasons we are noticing.

I got my game in the mail, but I've decided not to turn the account officially on. I was looking a head of my schedule and all I see is crunch time at work, then moving out to a new far away land that they call Texas, and then going out of country for a museum opening in an even further, far away country called the RoK.
Man, all I want to do is just hit things with my hammer and blow people up with my mind. Looks like I'm not even going to be able to play regularly till the second half of the year. I will miss you Two-Tails-One-Cup.

Oh, I disagree strongly. For a certain type of MMO player, this is definitely right on target.
Yeah, my time in beta was largely spent playing and then thinking, "I could be playing something more fun, like Zelda on the DS or any number of games." Maybe sometime I'll give ESO another chance, when it likely goes F2P or has some free weekend. Today's comic didn't bring the laughs, but it definitely rang true for me.

This game needs to implement songs like LOTRO. My kitty needs to play Eye of the Tiger while waiting for portals to respawn because the portals fail often.
It could also implement hidden achievements from LOTRO. They were awesome, especially those involving eating various food types.
How do you know there aren't?
I'm pretty sure there's no "Kill a pig/boar in every zone" achievement, considering I haven't seen any boars at all.

This game really does make me want to reinstall Oblivion.
I'm tempted to do that, too, but then I'd have to spend all day downloading and installing mods. I'm not yet sure if I want to take that plunge.
I almost went to install it too. I went to the guide you made, and decided nope nope nope nope nope.
I forgot all about that guide. I just looked at it and had the same reaction. It's also fairly outdated now and I'm sure half the links don't work anymore.
I read down to FCOM and was "augh, this is awful. I can't believe we had to do this. Skyrim is so much better".

Modding Oblivion was a bitch. That said, I may still install it, but I'm going to stick with some general graphical and audio mods instead of overhauling the entire game.
I also recently updated my Skyrim mods and installed Morrowind again. I've got the Elder Scrolls fever!

Anyway, the comic definitely highlights a certain type of playstyle and I can't argue with it since, well, I'll fully admit that I'm pretty addicted to the game. Here's hoping this patch fixes the quest(s) I'm currently stuck at...must...play...more.

The fact that you have to take three mods, mash them together, install compatibility patches between them, and then hope and pray nothing else breaks just to get the game to not be horribly imbalanced, shows just how awful it is.
I'm waiting for Skywind to come out myself.
Should probably post something about ESO. Um, one of the cat skins is Calico. That's awesome. I has two Calico kitties now. That need to play Eye of the Tiger on the lute.
Weird. I did the frog race this weekend and didn't even know it was bugged. Sucks they're removing sources of xp. I've felt my character is just barely keeping up with the quests level-wise.

Frog Racing was working yesterday. It's such a great quest too. I like that it's not "kill these things" or "I need 10 bear asses, but you only get 1 ass for every 20 bears you kill". Shame.
I had a quest to collect 25 crocodile teeth. The quest started when I found a dead orc next to a dead croc with a letter near his corpse from a guy that was buying crocodile teeth. The quest began with 5/25 teeth collected. So not only did I need to collect teeth, but I already had a head start from the dead orc's stash. Still, I'd need to kill 20 more crocs!?
So I tracked down my first Crocodile and killed him, which bumped me up to 17/25 teeth! Wow! For once an MMO actually uses some logic and realizes that critters might have multiples of the thing you're trying to collect!
Other newer MMOs have done things like that. Usually it's frustrating because they'll be inconsistent. Some enemies drop multiples, some drop one, some drop 0 of what you need, etc. The better thing would be if there were 0 quests that were stuff like collect critter teeth, but it's whatever. ESO in general does a much better job than the status quo at making the quests interesting.

I was being a tad hyperbolic there, and that was directed to other MMOs.
I had a quest to collect 12 mudcrab eyes. Each mudcrab dropped two. I only had to kill 6 and then I was done. It was great.

Eh, most of these smaller quests only provide a couple hundred experience points anyway. I doubt them removing one or both will have any effect on their level curve.

Fairly certain that I'm going to toggle headgear to invisible if I'm going to have to wear something like that. Rest of it looks nice (with shoulderpads of at least somewhat restrictive size), but those helmets...ugh.
