Fury is revealed to be alive. The Russos say it was a "masterclass" in acting between Fury and Widow with Widow suddenly realizing that her life has become so bound in secrets and compartmentalization that when her mentor and close friend let her believe he had died.
The best part? Scarlet Johannson suggested that it be cut. She loved the scene but felt it hurt the pacing and asked the Russos to make the cut.
That pretty cool. I totally see why the actor thought it should be cut. It was already written on that persons face.
They've captured the facial expression of everyone reading the New 52.

I only go into my local shop on days the owner isn't there. Every time I buy books from him, he always asks me why I'm not reading anything from New52 and tells me that DC is far outclassing Marvel in terms of quality.
Anecdote:
I saw Junot Diaz do a Q&A + a reading on Tuesday night. One of the questions he was asked was about whether or not the ability to be a "nerd" was an issue of class. I don't quite remember the specifics of his answer and how he got on the subject, but he made a point about things like rape culture transcending class. And he made a really poignant comment about how the comic book industry perpetuates misogyny and rape culture just the same way that those people "nerds" attempt to set themselves apart from, just in a different form. And I had a really sobering moment of how much I dislike DC's ability to drum up near infinite negative publicity.

The only person I talk to about comics was pretty gung-ho about New 52 last time I saw him in like Nov/Dec. He even enjoyed Death of the Family, I believe.
Death of the Family was pretty good, it happened in one of the handful of books that dosen't suck.

Yeah, the store I go to is 100% on the Marvel/Image/indie bandwagon. They stock DC because it sells, but it's clear from the recommendations they give what they themselves enjoy. (Also Kate Leth works there and the comics she's done for ComicsAlliance lately have been preeeetty critical of DC)

DC has a dozenish well selling books but the bulk of their lineup doesn't sell that well. There's a reason they cancelled a bunch of books to put out a Batman weekly.
Marvel also has some underpreformers but as a whole they have stronger sales

To add to this, DC depends a whole lot on Batman's perennial top-selling status, while Marvel tends to have a more diverse catalogue.
DC's top ten best sellers in February were Batman, Forever Evil (their current crossover event), Justice League, Harley Quinn, Batman/Superman, Detective Comics, Justice League of America, Batman: Joker's Daughter, Red Lanterns, and Superman/Wonder Woman. Notice how six of those ten books feature Batman, and two of them (Harley Quinn and Joker's Daughter) have a strong connection to him.
In contrast, Marvel's top ten best sellers in February were Wolverine, Superior Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, All-New X-Men, Avengers, Uncanny X-Men, Guardians of the Galaxy, Punisher, Wolverine: Origin II, and Uncanny Avengers. The most popular character there would be Wolverine, who features in four of those ten books.

SHIELD does know about it, they just didn't mass produce it, hence Garrett's comment. Hill also uses it to save Steve, Nat and Sam.

Then stop buying things.
Etsy, Shapeways, local stores. There's plenty of options that aren't conglomerates.

Yes. It is terrible.
It is a cool shop with cool people and yes I totally shamelessly dropped that name

Fraction and Chaykin are making a special tijuana bible as a retailer incentive for Satellite Sam.
I don't even like that book but the idea of Matt Fraction: Pornographer tickles me endlessly.
