What is everyone doing to pass the time? Besides being chained to your devices?
Reading through 198 updates that Microsoft released at 1:00, yet over half of the KB articles still aren't available for specific KB update number... *sigh* I was hoping the release of PAX ticket would break up this monotony.
While I agree that being insensitive is an issue, so is being oversensitive.

Working on my own game that I can hopefully display at PAX one day I also like to whoop some Sentinals in Dark Souls 2 from time to time. I've gotten a lot of good practice dodging them because of PAX waiting ha ha
Oh, well. As I right this, it's 3:07 and still nothing. Was really hoping it was today, since my kid was sick and I had to stay home with him. OK, no, I didn't totally ignore him all day while focusing on three different computers, two tablets and a phone. No, I would never do that!

At least I don't have to rent a Dicken's era costume.
I'm chalking the extended wait up to Aus wrapping and South coming up. If there just wasn't the constant fear of missing the opening queue, waiting in the queue only to potentially have the page crash or even getting the dreaded 'sold out' in the first few minutes, I would say its not that bad of a wait.
I know tomorrow I will not be as productive as I could be as I stress out about missing the opening bell.
I just hope that the virtual queue service this year isn't anywhere as bad as last year
The problem was the page itself was a testament to watching paint dry. If you did nothing, then it worked fine.
I had the freaking thing kick me out and placed at the back of the queue twice. Both times I was at the end where it asked if I wanted to be included in the Omegathon, the thing stopped responding and POOF.... back in the queue. It was frustrating beyond belief.

people keep using their desktops because they feel safer that way but with all the stories, all I hear is people saying that the website kept crashing on their desktops.
In my opinion do it on your smartphone as your main attempt and use the computer maybe as a backup. I have heard more people have success with their phones and i have had success with pax east and pax prime on the phone.

I was kicked out of the queue several times, on multiple devices. It was incredibly frustrating. I still ended up getting tickets, so in the end it all worked out. I plan on having three devices running, and really hope the virtual queue service has all of the bugs worked out.

The only reason the queue was abysmal last year was because everybody flooded it and had their devices ready since PA tweeted 24h in advance. This year I'm sure they've learned....I'm sure of it......

Well then something was up with your guys devices that I never got. Last year I bought tickets from my iPhone and only had 1 bar of LTE. I went though without any issue and ended up getting 4 three day passes.

Most ticketing websites simply aren't designed scale well to handle the 1 hour deluge of request that come in for PAX.
We'll see how things go this year. But I don't expect there to be a dip in demand. Thus likely the issues people had last year will manifest themselves in some way again no matter how much planning they do. not to mention it's basically a 3rd party doing it so it's not even like Robert can whip out the Cat-O-Nine-Tails out and get results out faster.
P.S. Robert Khoo Cat-O-Nine-Tails needs to be a cosplay theme for PAX East!
Why can't pa hire it's own crew to make and maintain a ticketing and hotel site that meets the standards they require? They should definitely have the money to do so, and it would also allow them to keep almost 100% of sales since they don't have to deal with other ticketing sites fees.

Because the cost and upkeep of such a site is not worth it for someone who only holds 4 events a year.
If it's before 12:30 or after 1:45, that'll do nicely for me. I'd prefer not to miss a lot of class time; that said, I'm willing to make a sacrifice if worse comes to worse.
Anytime now would be nice, but I REALLY don't see tickets going on sale until about the 24th. Pa said it will be after pax aus wraps up, and seeing how they waited a long time to list pax prime, I can seem them waiting a while before releasing east too.
They will not release it Thanksgiving week as that would mean if something went wrong, they would have to work over Thanksgiving. So my guess is this week.

Agreed and I would imagine that today is the most likely. I could imagine that Wednesday might be the lightest server load day for showclick and onpeak.
