The Seaport rocks in my opinion, my friends and I stayed there this year and already reserved a room there for 2015, as last year I was unable to get a room through the convention site and had to fallback on my earlier reservation. It is actually closer to the front convention center doors than the back of the queue room is to the doors, if that makes any sense, when you check via Google Maps. So in other words, closer to the BCEC than the BCEC is long, very close and you can go back easily during the day to rest your feet for a bit. It's a top notch hotel and will always be my first pick, but it's also not inexpensive.
There are two less expensive hotels being built near the BCEC to open in years to come, and one larger one planned but they are not here yet so really it's the Westin, Seaport and Rennaisance for nearby hotels. The Westin would have one up on the Seaport in inclement weather when the skybridge is open, or if even that distance is too far for you to walk. There was gaming in both hotel lobbys evenings during PAX as well, something I should try to partake of next year. My buddies attended that this year and it's awesome to be able to retire to your hotel and keep on gaming.
As for tickets, the site doesn't say "Soon" yet so they probably won't be going on sale this week, and October would be my guess. But you never know how they will surprise us I just hope the ticketing and reservation systems are a tad more robust this year, they got a bit busy last year!
@rascrush ... I stayed at Seaport on a non-PAX rate last year, if recollection serves the Seaport PAX rate was something like $189-$209, with the non-PAX rate being somewhere like $289-$309. A quick look at Seaport non-PAX rate now shows the average rate to be around $314 ... but it could go higher depending on days. The TH, FR, SA days seem to be at $399 per night.
PAX East 2016 .... gots my Passes [x] Hotel [x] Flights [x] Packed [..] .... ok we're all good !!!!!
interesting looking at prices looks like a lot of the close hotels on peak prices went up a lil or stayed the same from 2013-2014 not much but like 5-10 a night the westin actually went down 10 though
So glad they noted this. can turn off my phone noises for a little bit. Do you think they are referring to PAX East in general, or just regarding panels, as that was the original point of the tweet chain?
Just wondering who @riseninja and how is she connected to pax? I'm not a pax expert so forgive me if I'm stepping on anyone's toes. I just would like to make sure.

That's quite late, historically. I'm surprised they're pushing things that late...
2012's East was November and 2014 was late october.

October is more typical (One Sept, one November...all others Oct). 2012's was the only on sale that late, and the con was in early April (not early March). I'm just surprised they're pushing it that late, if they really do (as it seems). The past couple years, it's been a week or two before PaxAus...not after. Just surprising...
wow that is interesting that they would wait till november still gonna check everyday cause we dont know if that was in reference to panels like the person said or in reference to tickets
Because the dates are in early march I'm inclined to think that was reference to panels. But then again since now they have 4 PAXes to manage it could just be that reg will always be closer to the actual cons now. This year's Prime was really late reg and I bet South was only earlier because it's the first one.

this year's pax aus is only the second one ever, and last year's aus was held in july, WELL before pax east reg was even a thought. it makes perfect sense that pax staff wouldn't want to deal with the inevitable chaos of east registration while in final prep stages of/actually putting on another con.

So we won't hear anything until Nov. At least I have more time to prepare for inevitable thinning of my party of 6, unless we all happen to get tickets.
Yep, confirmed by an email that no PAX East tickets will be sold prior to November.
From the PAX Email: "PAX East Registration: NOT YET.
There have been a ton of questions about when PAX East 2015 tickets will go on sale. We just wanted to take a moment to let everyone know that we won't have anything to say about that until November, so don't worry about wearing out that F5 key! PAX Australia is later this month, so let's get past that first. In the meantime, take a deep breath and enjoy some pumpkin spice lattes. "
Yeh, I got an email too. Was going to ask if anyone else did, but am now glad to see that someone has received one. Still kind of bummed that it's going to be so late, though.
What concerns ms is that I apparently didn't receive this email. Was it part of the gazelle, some ClubPA email, something else? The fact that there is news coming out regarding PAX via some communications channel I am not subscribed to worries me. I feel like I need to rectify this before November now.
I'm not sure how I received it. I have been in touch with them in many ways including having attended PAX before, filling out the post-PAX survey, and other emails that somehow got me on this list. I'm fairly certain it won't be the way tickets are announced though, that is via Twitter and the site.

PAX South!
However, if you wanted to get tickets for the next North American event, there are still a few PAX South 2015 tickets on sale, but they are moving quickly. Snag 'em here before they're gone on our registration page.
We've also just opened up the Enforcer applications for South. Do you have a burning desire to work behind the scenes, helping make PAX as awesome as possible? You can learn more on our enforcers page.
