After I got my job to unblock Google Play, I've been listening to SO much random stuff. It's done a really good job of making me branch out to some other stuff.
Of the stuff I've been listening to, most of it is usually Eagles of Death Metal, Queens of the Stone Age, and Them Crooked Vultures. So mostly Josh Homme stuff!
You sir, have good taste. I'm a huge QOTSA fan, listen to them more than any other band or artist. Their last album ...Like Clockwork was my album of last year, fucking fantastic. The art and animation in the music videos leading up to it's release is goddamn great too.
They played all of the animated stuff when they played in Midtown Music Fest in ATL. It was really cool. There were a couple extremely stoned dudes next to us that were completely amazed.

Yeah, I've seen video of some of the live shows, that looks goddamn awesome. Too bad no one comes down to where I am, hopefully I'll be moving somewhere by the end of the year where bigger bands play.
Me too! Fortunately Seattle and Portland are close. Drove to see the Dawes in Seattle last year.

I live down in Southern Spain, despite there being quite a few medium-ish cities around here, if I wanted to go see pretty much any American/British bands I'd have to head up to either Barcelona or Madrid. Hoping that by the end of the year I'll be either back in Britain or in Barcelona or Berlin, where I should be able to see live music way more regularly (or at least as much as I can afford).
I appreciate the recommendation, I don't know why, something like this and Action Jackson just don't quite click for me. It might be due to the fact that when Washed Out and does 80s music it sounds more hazy and drained, I dunno. There's also something about the sound of the synths, it's hard to identify. Speaking of 80s-influenced business, Jungle's The Heat is a pretty great song.
Man oh man, they open with B.O.B., which means I'm gonna lose my goddamn mind just immediately. And if their week one setlist is the same as for weekend two, there's even gonna be shit off Big Boi's solo albums, like the dope-beyond-measure Shutterbug. Ahhhh, so excited.
There's lots of other folks I'm jazzed to see, but the 90-minute Outkast set is far and away my most anticipated

So this was recommended to me as similar to Washed Out, Boat Club, a group who appear to have released just the one EP, Caught the Breeze, and then were never heard from again, which is a bummer, since this is some very nice, chilled out music.

i really wanted to go see Shpongle at Red Rocks when they come through, especially since it's the only US date with the full band, but those tickets went FAST.

Tycho is the shiiiiiiit. Have you heard his new album?
Got that (signed ) poster at a show he did here in SF about a month ago. So amazing.
Tycho has a new album out? I need to get on that.
How is it?
e: Also @Lord_Snot I cannot stop listening to that The Heat that is some good stuff right there
It's really, really good. I think I like it very slightly less than Dive, but that's only because Dive is like, the most perfect album ever made. You can listen to the whole thing free here:

I've been craving more music and you guys never steer me wrong.
I'll contribute some stuff sometime when I'm not phone posting.

This applies to pretty much all QOTSA.

And then go get yourself a copy of Night Time, My Time
EDIT: I see Theo Floosevelt covered this on the last page, that's how you have to operate though, total coverage
This song is beautiful. Hamilton is playing a show near me but only as support for Ray LaMontagne. Bummer!
I am seeing St Vincent and the Monae/Kimbra show within like four days of each other next month and I could not be more pumped
and the new Pixies album is reeeeeeaaalllllyyyy boring

He's actually both a musician and graphic designer, and does all his own visuals!

The answer is "all of it." They melt all the face.
I called some teenager an asshole and she made a pass at me
Does that count?
Keeping on with electric-y music, Vanilla make some fantastic stuff

Gonna have to go through it carefully and actually listen to the stuff that was posted.
But for now, I wanna mention that Glitch Mob released a new album a little while ago, and I really dig it.
Like this.
I mean, the band is called Belzebong
What's not to love
