The question here is, why would it be a dick move? I'm pretty sure pax would be happy posting tickets at an incredibly inconvenient time, allowing only the most vigilant pax goers to go.
It's unfortunate but I think pax is considering waiting this one out. Catch us off guard while the hype is low and not when people expect tickets to go on sale.
I could definitely see that happening... oh well, better safe than sorry and it's worth it to get to go. I just hope my boss understands... ^-^'
Alternate theory. Robert Khoo is back but operating on Australian time. So sales will go live at 3AM.
I assume the reality is this thing is they will go on sale as soon as all the windows line up
They have a window when they want to launch. (like before June)
Inside that there are dates they want.(like the a weekday after 4 weeks after PAX East)
Certain things need to have happened (all the sites updated, number of tickets and prices finalized, etc ... )
Certain people need to be present
On each day they want to do it they have a time window. (like before noon)
On that day and time, if something doesn't line up they abort and try again on the next acceptable day.
What if, like... they already went on sale, man. And what if, like, they're still on sale, but no one knows. Maybe it's, like, a hidden sale that you have to know the secret website and the password to get into, man. Maybe the NSA took over Penny Arcade and they're using this to conduct thought experiments on us, man. It could totally happen. They'd be all, like, inside our minds, man. They know we want them, and they're using that desire to shift our mental focus away from the alien landing that happened last week, man. Whoa.
I actually don't mind this. The bags aren't that great anymore anyway - mostly postcard ads. I remember (BACK IN MY DAY...!) they used to have like t-shirts and lanyards, buttons and fun stuff. Sad that the thing I remember most from PAX 13 was the little bottle of hand sanitizer.
I can recall 2007 and 2008 them handing out the 'I Survived PAX 20XX' bumper/window stickers and when everyone in the queue line got free Bawls... man those were the days... wish we had swag like that still.
I seriously can't wait for PAX badges to just go on sale already. My friends and I are all in agreement to stalk the site, first one in gets as many tickets as they can for everyone, while the others either continue waiting in line (in case more tickets are needed then are allowed to be purchased) or they get hotel rooms booked. As excited as I am for PAX this year, it also makes me a little bit sad. If we go, this will be the last year my Fiance and I will be able to go to PAX for the full 4 days before our wedding next year.
Though, on the flip side, we hope to go to Pax Prime 2015 next year for Friday and Saturday before heading off on our honeymoon Sunday (We're getting married the Thursday before) So that's pretty exciting too. :P
either way, I'm probably going to be calling in sick once badges actually start selling. X3 lol
Pax Prime Con-Goer since 2009

I like the swag bags because they have a lot of the ads already which is handy. I come there to collect ads since a lot of these companies have no PR otherwise. Also without that book good luck finding anything, plus that's where the rest of the good ads are esp. the indy booth breakdown which is probably the most important and relevant part of PAX now besides maybe PAX10.
That being said they need to be handed out some other way. A line to get in, and then a line for swag bags is completely redundant. Also as soon as you get one maybe your badge could be marked or stamped or punched or something to cut down on everyone grabbing 2-5.
Everyone buying 5 badges is annoying but as long as they're fair/reasonable/legit on ebay I don't mind. The counterfeiting thing scares the crap out of me though. So if I do have to ebay I just find someone with 99.9999%+ feedback and I've had no issues.

Silly question, but can you even leave negative feedback for a purchase made months earlier?

Last year, if I recall, there were some people selling the Showclix account associated with the purchase, so you could go on and have the official badges shipped directly to your address and cut out the middle man. If you must buy second-hand, that's probably the way to do it.
The website was down for a few minutes for me and I was thinking THIS IS IT and then it finally loaded and nothing changed. I about had a heart attack.
¬_¬ yea.. we'll see... I think people are just guessing the Wednesday of every week because that's when they went on sale last year. In which case, everyone is betting on a wednesday around 9-10pst. amiright?
Hahahah lol. You could always have @Official_PAX or @paxcommunity send you messages on your phone. It gets sent out pretty quickly after they actually go on sale

Yup, get texts from both. Really only way to know they go on sale unless you're stalking the site. Still, seeing tweets about tickets being sold out from others scared me, thought I missed the boat.

arrg.. you'll never beat out the f5 army if youre waitin for that twitter phone notification x3 Last year, I ran to my computer as soon as I got the Pax Ticket sale text and what do ya know.. 4Day Passes - SOLD OUT. I think by this year that lots of people are accepting having to shell out the extra $25 on four 1-Day passes seeing as how there's basically no chance in getting a 4-day pass unless your f5ing the forum all day..

There does seem to be a delay with Twitter too. At this point, I'd be happy just getting any single day pass.
Ok, so I just installed the "Page Monitor" Chrome extension, and I have it looking just at the registration text box on the prime.paxsite.com page once per minute.
Anyone have any thoughts on this strategy? This is in *addition* to have Offical_PAX alerts to my phone and hitting f5, of course...
The aliens already bought up the tickets, Man. For reallies!

It is a possibility that the UFO's are trying to take over all of the weird groups. It's a greater possibility that the Discordian Society has that goal. Personally, I suspect the Gnomes of Zurich of making a play to collect all the monies.
I just hope the Cult of Cthulhu isn't getting involved.

Don't worry I'm getting close to have to pull out one of my many spare keyboards I have here at work. (Turns out it's lucky being IT sometimes)

From what I remember, you have a 60 day window to leave feedback, and 45 days to open a case against the seller if necessary.

I like the enthusiasm, I am feeling good about today as well!
according to many reliable sources or according to many best guesses? =p lol
Reliable sources, of course. Like aliens and the NSA. :P
