Since the last challenge only had a single entry ( add to that, that it was made by someone who's no longer around) I have taken it upon myself to necromance this old tradition of ours. Here goes:
THE CHALLENGE
Surely the most annoying thing as a newcomer to any medium is that the one thing that everyone is better at than their craft, is hiding their first wonky steps into the art world. It's a grim habit that we all have. Unable to endure the beings we have created we keep them locked up in dark places like bastard sons or failed exorcisms while we go greet the world armed with a twinkle in the eye, a toothpaste smile and our hot, blonde überzeichnungen in our arms.
No more I say, the time has come again, it's time to show the world the horrors your muse conjured while her face was still a pimpled mess. Back when your main body of work consisted of naruto characters with different hairstyles and "original" names and backstories, back when your art ego was still too "tsundere" to see why perspective even mattered.
Now, with the tools you have forged since those days of toe-curling anime originality you must strap your old embarrassments to the art altar, because it is - - -- - - MAKEOVER TIME

Yes, find your old shit from before you were cool and redo it now! Post a side by side comparison when done, preferably with dates. So show us all how much you sucked, and show yourself how far you've come.
DEADLINE: June 1st
For those of you who frequent the conceptart.org forums this should be pretty familiar; tens of artistic combatants thrown together in to an artistic arena, each struggling for the honor of being dubbed a master of the visual arts. Those of you who succeed will be bathed in glory and the blood of their competitors, those of you who fail will be exiled to a life of shame and isolation.
The aim of this thread is to try and spice things up a bit here in the ol' Artist's Corner. This thread is for entries in to the challenge or the discussion thereof. If you'd like to suggest a topic for the weekly challenge, go right ahead, but understand that the last winner of the challenge has total control over the task (unless they have won more than two challenges in a row, see rules).
The rules are simple;
RULES:
* A contestant cannot win more than two challenges in a row.
* Winner gets the privilege of choosing the next challenge.
* Winner also gets the honor of picking the winner of the next challenge.
* At the end of a challenge, the thread is locked and a new one is begun.
* Stick to the challenge topic; no going off on a tangent.
* All formats welcome, whether they be traditional or digital; 2D or 3D; still or animated.
If you're looking for inspiration, check out the aforementioned conceptart.org forums (specifically the creature/environment/character of the week sections).
