@EKSORTSO What I know about hunting couldn't fill a thimble, it's not my thing. But why wouldn't you shoot for the head exactly? I ask because that'd be my first instinct. Try to put it out as quickly and painless as possible. Why am I wrong about that? (absolutely no sarcasm or snark, genuine question)

@EKSORTSO @KPGOODNIGHT A head shot wouldn't be sadistic, as it would be a quick, theoretically painless kill. However, it is typically an impractical shot, as headshots are much harder to accomplish than movies and games would have you think. Ideally, you aim for the chest, the heart and lungs, as it is still a quick kill, but while being a much easier shot to make. However, when hunting small game, such as rabbits, squirrels, and *barf* weasels, a headshot would be almost necessary, as there is too little meat to waste it with a body shot.

@KPGOODNIGHT I'm not a hunter, but I come from a hunter clan. I believe head shots aren't actually very reliable as a humane "one shot" way to kill. Small mammal heads are not that big, and their brains (the thing you want to hit for a killing shot) don't take up the whole skull. If your aim is off half an inch, there's a good chance you'll just horrifically wound it, not kill it.
