The kickstarter backers had to drop $150 on a tiny slab of metal that could've turned out to be worthless. Everyone who has one either had to have good timing, luck, or a bunch of money/pins.
I'm glad this thread exists, because it makes it easy for me to find people to (respectfully) make offers to :P

Did I ever tell you guys that I donated so much money to charity that I had a 27% chance to win the DLC pin in a raffle and lost?
That was a terrible story.
If you're talking about the raffle that @Nope did back in October -- pretty sure my wife and I combined had you beat on % to win... but obviously we didn't get it either. It was fully tax deductible though, so our $400 really only cost us more like $300. Also need to remember it was for the kids
Not that I regret donating to charity, but it's always amusing to remember that I've spent more money trying to win one than it would've cost me to just get it via the Kickstarter.
(But that USB drive is still worth the $55 bucks paid. JUICED!)
So for the people that didn't get them through the original kickstarter or by random chance (shakes fist at Fish), how did you guys track one down to work out a deal on? My current plan is to ask pretty much every single person I encounter at East if they know anybody who has one, but I feel like that dragnet approach isn't likely to turn up too many hits.
These forums aren't very good for this, because everyone who hangs out on here is a hardcore collector that would almost never let go of one -- but based on the listing in the OP there must be at least 150 of these things out there belonging to people who don't post on the forums frequently or at all. I'm sure some of these people would be open to making a deal -- but finding them is going to be the big challenge.

I'd be curious how many people are listed as owning on pinnypals but have not chimed in to this thread. I'm not sure a "who has this pin?" is something its worth working into the site itself, but the data is certainly there, and maybe @grgemonkey can do a one time query for purposes of updating the op? Or, best yet, if a page could be created in Pinny Pals with that info, maybe the Op can just point to that page. The data hygienist in me always gets nervous when people try to keep multiple data repositories in sync, because invariably they don't.
Fresh every reload. But it has the same issue as the OP, people updating their collection appropriately
edit: Also if you see null for the country, that person has not logged in along time. Everyone was logged out and prompted to update their country on their next visit many moons ago.

Terribly awesome story, you all helped me raise half my charity goal for CP Charity in like 1 day. My only regret is that I only had my 1 personal DLC to give away and not more.

Now the question is, are all of the people actively trading keeping their lanyards relatively up to date? Or another way, are the 225 DLC's not listed in PinnyPals with Kickstarter people who don't actually trade? Effectively not existing until those people discover trading or get rid of them.

How many of the original 300 have been given out? Seems like a few per year trickle out for Child's Play, Fuku Bags, lucky people at SDCC etc. but it would be useful to know how many more are sitting at PA HQ.
While I do have the elusive DLC Pin because I backed the kickstarter at a ridiculous level, its currently in a shadow box with the collection set of pins.
I got my DLC pin at PAX Prime. On the first day I really wanted to get all the Staff Pins and when I bumped into Robert near the merch booth I asked him where was best place to find the other staff. He recommended looking for Kristin at the Info booth so I went right over. I think because she saw my sheer enthusiasm for trading she revealed a DLC pin she had on the reverse of her lanyard and traded it away for a core set pin. Because of that It's pretty special to me and I don't think I'll be trading it anytime soon.

it's easy to hunt us down in a crowd.
Pinny Pal since PAX Prime 2013
On that note, we should remove all original backers from the list as well as they didn't have to trade their arms and legs away for this unicorn.
I think at one point I was willing to pay 1 to 2k for it.
Pinny Pal since PAX Prime 2013
I had just seen him up by the stage, so I bolted down there and traded him a Prime 2013 logo for it.
So yeah, go ahead and add me to the list.
Edit: Since a few people have PMed me asking already: No, I'm not looking to trade. Sorry. :P
Though I think maaaaybe putting how people got it next to their names would be neat...

I like that idea. Some people got it with trades and others with kickstarter.

There has been an awakening. Have you felt it?
Seems legit. Let's put cowkitty on the list
My pins are right here!
Feel free to send me a trade request!
You just want to feel more special. A unicorn is a blessing, a special blessing to each who has one, how they got it is only important to them.

Did you miss the post about burnedfork hunting down Kiko? That story is way cooler than mine. I want to hear more shit like that.
Hell, Pedro's story about his DLC #2 is really cool too.
Mine's cool, but others are way better.

Meeting my pinefactor Sunday afternoon. So awesome.
Out of curiosity, how did you find that pinefactor? Is there a list out there somewhere of all the original backers that you tracked him down from?
