I think it would be neat if MechJeb had an option to only unlock a module after performing the associated maneuver manually. Ooh, you could even work it into career mode, if it's possible to have successful missions somehow unlock parts. "We want to teach MechJeb how to do an orbital rendezvous. Please demonstrate."
You could simulate that by modifying the part.cfg to unlock things as you go.

This is my long range aerial survey aircraft that I'm using to complete @Arsonide survey conotracts. It can glide at a respectable 600m/s at 13,000m without any touching of the controls, and does not significantly gain or lose altitude.
@Arsonide
I love your Fine Print mod. I really do. But do the aerial survey locations have to reward so little science for how much time they take? I think it would be more enjoyable if the survey locations were closer or more valuable.
They don't take too long. My triple turbojet supersonic plane, at 4x with SAS, gets to them in a couple of minutes.

It would be nice to have science kits and/or missions that require multiple kerbals. Basically, I need more reasons to start using the bigger command pods.
(Please do not gift. My game bank is already full.)

@Arsonide 's FinePrint mod adds a bunch of contracts that require you to set up bases and stations with a certain amount of crew.

So did we all watch Scott Manley's physics-less video where he talked about the new massless engines added in 0.24?
Did we all see him issue a circumnavigation of Kerbin challenge - quickest time around the planet and back to KSC?
Certain parts don't have physics, in order to keep things running smoothly. Landing gear, science instruments, ladders, RCS ports, etc. None of these have drag or much affect on the simulation. The idea is they're so small and inconsequential it isn't worth simulating them.
In the last update, they added a small engine with those properties. That plus infinite fuel cheat = shenanigans.
edit: Anyway, I'm building a new lander, and I want to illuminate it so it looks cool. I just discovered the stock lights can be set to any colour, and to vary in brightness, which is great. I'd like some smaller lights though, to illuminate science experiments on my craft. Any suggestions?
I patched the mod yesterday by the way, lots of good stuff in there.
My initial testing of EVA contracts didn't go so well though...
My ship is under there. Somewhere.
Further testing yielded success:
It's like one of those family pictures in front of the world's largest ball of twine. I can spawn these anywhere now, and we're making more types of anomalies. (Open to ideas.)
Well, I downloaded the B9 Aerospace Repack for 0.24 fully expecting my KSP 32 bit to explode, but it didn't (so that's cool). On the other hand, I was trying to build a giant spaceplane (which I am terrible at doing, by the way) to launch some of these Modular Kolonization System modules because it felt more realistic than rockets. Not only did my plane not work very well at all, but I also had trouble with the bay doors not opening or closing. I wish stock KSP would update with a bay of some kind for spaceplanes, ideally one that could fit 2.5m parts inside.

Oh, sorry, it's actually for 0.23, not 0.24. It's just a single zip file with all the files needed to make the old B9 playable in 0.23.5

Oh I know about that one. Couldn't find the correct initial install for the old B9, or at least, the ones I found never worked for me. I don't understand why the maker of the "repack" thing wouldn't just incorporate B9 itself into his download so I don't have to go to several different places trying to make things work.
If cargo bay doors aren't opening, you probably need an updated firespitter plugin dll.
Huh, that's funny because I actually already had a Firespitter, but the repack had a new one that was larger. I assumed the larger file was the one to keep and overwrote the other. Oh well, hopefully that's an easy fix then.

I just gave it a shot. You can mine it from anywhere and it'll never run out, though the yield will be low compared to finding a rich deposit. Said deposits are made easily visible with a scanner attachment that can be turned on and off. There's also a propeller engine, two jets and two intakes for running solely on Karbonite and the intakes are also capable of scooping for other stuff - it was capable of picking up stuff for the Universal Storage fuel cells. Basically, it's Kethane: Easy Mode... aside from everything exploding easily, apparently by design - all the parts have extremely low impact tolerances.
More stuff after I try to get KAS working. I needs my miner-and-cistern trains! Needs thems!

What i would really like is a mod for mining materials and being able to setup construction facilities in space. How cool would it be to have like a series of mining facilities on some moons of jool that transport the materials to an orbital ship assembly yard which you could then build whatever with.

Exists, but quite complicated and probably not updated for 0.24 yet.

Exactly what I wanted, thanks.
Also what music is that? I recognize it but not entirely and it's driving me nuts.
Steam Support is the worst. Seriously, the worst

this is the best place to look for new mods.
Either for flight, or for impact shielding, or for things that inflate upon slash-down.
For flight in particular I'd be interested, especially in order to make balloon probes for interplanetary missions.
Huh, this looks cool, and it has submarines as well:

It says 0.24 compatible.

Hey, you put enough inflatable bags on something, you can hit the ground at close to the speed of sound and survive!
no they don't because they explode
