Has anyone who played in the Beta tried to run Wildstar on 2G of RAM?
Me and the Wife plan on giving it a try, but her computer only has 2G and the installer complained. Just wondering if I need to bite the bullet and stick a bit more in.

I was able to run it with 2 gig of RAM and 2 gig page file on the hard drive. This is a terrible idea and it is not pretty, but it DID work!
Actually looking in the task manager the game was usually hovering around 1.5 to 2 gigs used.
It crashed to desktop regularly but a) my computer was really below minimum specs and b) that was during the bad weekend when everyone kept getting dropped, so I wasn't sure what to blame.

While I didn't try only 2gb of RAM personally, the idea is actually painful. Chances are (even if you get it to work) she's going to have a very rough time trying to play the game with that. Are her other specs good? If her other specs match the requirements then her bottleneck will most definitely be the RAM. If you can, you should add at least another 2gb in there.

If your wife is running windows vista, 7, or 8 disabling aero will help eek out a little extra oomph, too.
Mainly I would say do not be afraid by that message complaining about your RAM and give it a shot anyway, as it should run. If you want to actually play it for real, you will want the 4 gigs, but at least getting the game running might give you some indication if your video card or processor isn't good enough either.
I also tried it on 2GB ram machine. It was okay, although had put all the levels at minimum and the game wasnt particularly good looking. I buckled and spent the 22 bucks to put 2gb more ram in there.
Zombie Sarah Brightland gave me the notion to google search "pregnant zombie" and sure enough, there are some really disturbing (but creative) halloween/con ladies who had that idea.

so she'll either be evil or grafted to something awful that Deadeye will have to (have you) put down to introduce more artificial tragedy into his life.

Then Deadeye goes evil and is the next raid boss and Cree Summer becomes the next leader of the Exiles.
My biggest peeve with Engineer (which is what I had originally wanted to roll) was the bots are super buggy to command. If they fix that I may go engy again. But having my bruiser bot just kind of sit there after i told him repeatedly to attack the thing that is eating my face got super annoying quick. Also, that their abilities take up one of your LAS slots was too much of a negative.
Has there ever been a game, ever, where the pets weren't buggy? Serious question.
Account wide achievements are nice, but definitely something that isn't 100% necessary. Account wide gold also seems odd, although thinking about it I can't come up with any downsides, but I feel that there should be. Hrm.
That addon article will be great though @Jaef. I avoided them in Beta but in WoW I fucking love addons. I assume Wildstar will be much the same in that respect.

Account wide gold has one downside that I can think of off the top of my head; if a gold farmer snags your account, they can scalp the money faster.
That is pretty minor though because they would have gutted all your characters anyways and the authentication security going up at launch now will make hacking accounts harder.

I love the account wallet setup on GW2. I just wish event tokens went in it too, but...

Since this is the source of all knowledge, is the two factor authentication for smartphones only or will they be selling a fob for those of us who are still way, way, way behind the curve?

it's using the google authenticator like GW2 uses I think
They did say that they will have location checks similar to their forums. So if the account is logged into from a new location, then before you can play you'll have to enter a code Carbine will email you.

Perhaps there's a decent way to go about this...like a nice poll.

Man, I think even the three-year-old cinematic might have been better.

Maybe they felt the cinematic was too exile centric? *shrugs*
Because I saw that gold wasn't shared across characters and thought that was colossally stupid.
It's also three years old and isn't as indicative of the feel they want the game to have as a whole. In addition to just being Exiles.
Also, I feel like the current intro is way too serious in tone to be the intro to the game.
This little addon article seems useful for people who haven't paid any attention to the game like me.
