They specifically picked the remaining Unseen to turn into Classics. It was always part of the plan, it's just a matter of time before we see the rest. Daddy needs his new Classic Whammy!
Also: They put up the second set of stretch goals, and the pledges had already passed them in total. LOLOLOLOL YAY!

OH SHIT $200K I HADN'T SCROLLED DOWN ENOUGH ARRTGHGHGLEHAJDGLHJGFKLAFHJ!!!!!
[Edit] So at $259k and counting, here's where we stand with resculpts:
Fire Moth (Dasher) Mist Lynx (Koshi) Kit Fox (Uller) Adder (Puma) Viper (Dragonfly) Ice Ferret (Fenris) Nova (Black Hawk) Stormcrow (Ryoken) Mad Dog (Vulture) Hellbringer (Loki) Summoner (Thor) Timber Wolf (Mad Cat) Gargoyle (Man O' War) Warhawk (Masakari) Executioner (Gladiator) Dire Wolf (Daishi)
Grendel
Shadow Cat
Cougar
Nova Cat
Marauder
Valkyrie
Archer
Stinger
Phoenix Hawk
Warhammer
Rifleman
Wasp
At $300k, we'll add a new IS pack for the Atlas, Marauder II, Orion, and Crusader. Hoo boy.
Next Inner Sphere lance unlocked. And it's a crowd pleaser:
Atlas, Marauder II, Orion & Crusader. [No pic yet.]
Mmmmmm.
EDIT: Technically about to be unlocked. Needs $300k, but we're at $264k and rising.
I was editing (and auditing) in my last post, and just saw this. Wow! I wasn't expecting resculpts of two post-Unseen there! The Crusader being the outstanding Unseen makes sense, so its interesting what they decided to pack in with it. The Marauder II is an obvious choice, since it so heavily borrows on the base model.
I cannot freaking wait to see what the art for the Atlas and Orion look like.

So, I'm conflicted. I want to throw my whole wallet at this. I want one of everything. But...
Between the somewhat limiting pledge levels (yes, I know I can just do add-ons), and the kiiiinda meh last few Star/Lance reveals (I mean, after the Unseen, what was really left? The IIc's, that's what, and what's not in there...) my excitement is a little bit blunted.
I'm still going to negotiate a pretty sizable buy-in, and probably do a duplicates-trade with some of my IRL buddies that are also going in deep. But each new reveal past $300k has just been...not as exciting. I know! It was an impossible level of excitement to maintain.
That said, I have always wanted a Turkina, and a resculpted plastic version sounds fantastic.

I just read your post as your real life friends went in for the $5,000 level.
Personally I went in a bit higher than I should have, but the additional stuff just made sense since I want one of the Unseen sets. Stinger and Valkyrie in one box is like they knew my first two mechs I piloted in the TT game and wanted me to buy it.
I only regret I didn't wait longer to get into Battletech lol, these IS lance packs are great, but do I need duplicates of so many mechs? Only using them 4 at a time I don't even need as many as I have now.
Edit: Basically I never expected they'd churn out dozens of mechs at once like this, so quickly.

CLAN COMMAND STAR:
- Dire Wolf

CLAN HEAVY STRIKER STAR:
- Gargoyle

CLAN PURSUIT STAR:

- Hellion
- Battle Cobra
- Black Lanner
Y'know, it's weird. This Kickstarter basically locks CGL into a product release plan all the way through the end of next year.
That's a hell of a way to announce your product lineup.
I do wish they'd do something about the utterly asymptotic plot progression, though.
I've now read your post at least ten separate times, and I still don't grok what you're saying. Care to clarify for a braindead homedad?
Just that it seems like it's been taking longer and longer to make smaller and smaller and steps in the plot. It seems like we've spent a really long time lurching from 3135 to 3145 to 3150 and we know there's something big after that but we never quite get there.

Yeah, I get that. The post-Dark Age stuff has been a tough nut to crack for CGL. It started from a low-interest position coming out of the Wizkids Clix stuff, and they've had to find ways to get the playerbase to care about it, and it's been a pretty long haul. It sounds like Shattered Fortress did reasonably well, and they've still got ilClan planned...the question left at this point, is how far out is that going to get pushed, now that the nostalgia train HBS started with the PC game has pushed the game's development back into focusing on the Succession Wars, and now the Kickstarter is focusing on the Invasion.
I'm with ya. I want to move forward.
But...I also like shiny new plastic models, damn the era! We're at $654k on the campaign, and the seventh tier of stretch goals went up today!
$675k: Clan Light Fire Star: Howler, Solitaire, Incubus, Pack Hunter, Horned Owl
The Vixen and the Peregrine! Now you have my attention!
And zoooming ahead:
$750k: Inner Sphere Berserker Lance: Scarabus, Firestarter (Omni), Axman, Berserker
So this one's intriguing! Three of them by default come with a Hatchet. The Firestarter Omni, in a weird twist, has two variants with Swords. Rumor is as rumor does, but I'd love to see more Sword-equipped figures; I was already planning to eventually mod a Hatchetman with one for the Kurita variant, and this would give me another one to add to an all-Samurai lance (notwitstanding the Heavy Armor Samurai lance I've got for post-Dark Age games...)
This last stretch goal set pushes out the end of it. Will we see the campaign pass three-quarters of a million? I think it's entirely possible.

Oh god, we're past three-quarters of a million.
I just...what?
No update to stretch goals yet, but it's Friday evening. Maybe we'll see something tomorrow, but I'd understand if they took the weekend to strategize more.
No waiting - more stretch goals for the stretch goal gods!!!
EDIT: New goals are up! They're going to compose the next Star and Lance based on community comments. They're crazy if the Hunchback isn't in the next crop. I'm not sure how cohesive a lance it would be, but I'd love to see Hunchback, King Crab, Highlander and Urbie.
Also the new rotary images are AMAZING. Look at this Archer!
If that last one is supposed to be the Nova I'm going to be cranky. That's ugly AF.
Now, I don't know how this image is in the wild. I have my theories. I don't think it's supposed to be. But I'm pretty sure this is the proper render of the Nova.

I know it's not even 10 in the morning, Catalyst Games time. And the campaign has 26 days to go. And it's not likely to immediately affect my pledge level. But despite all that excitement is still riding high to see which mechs are going to make the cut for the $850k Star/Lance unlock.

I seriously couldn't believe how many boxes they have sold. Then I realized that there are add-ons that you can add (I guess) so that makes sense since I imagine people are adding more mech packs and stuff?

Lots of people just lining up to get their BT OCs canonized in the fiction.
I'd guess probably not Mechy McMechface at 200 bucks a pop.
A lot of unique and special snowflakes wielding ancestral lostech mechs and establishing themselves as legendarily skilled mech jockeys without equal as they run from the tragedy of their past and seek vengeance against those who have wronged them while looking fabulously dashing?
Yeah, probably.

There's roughly over a thousand OC's currently on track, due to pledges at levels that include "Name Only" and levels that are "Name+Picture".
It is a very hot topic on the official forums thread.
More than likely a lot of names in a KIA list from Operation REVIVAL. 😝

Purely conjecture: I think CGL underestimated the thirst for lance packs vs. where they put the OC as a throw-in. The OC "Name Only" is at the $300 dollar level and up, which is also at a level where you pick five Lances and get that doubled (so you get 10 packs total), and is also a sweet spot for other throw-ins. That level already has 780 backers. For reference, the average pledge right now is about $200. It's a very marginal jump from average to the sweet spot.
I think CGL should have started the OCs at the next tier up ($600), and the "Name+Picture" at the next next level (Khan, $1000). But it's way too late to change course.
The rabid, pent-up thirst for new sculpts and product in general is real, and astonishing in scale.
