Note to self: If the Adventure Mode stage says "Hits will be Devastating" use Sheik and the Song of Storms for the win.
Doesn't work, she still takes all but 1 heart of damage (and I assume you mean Serenade of Water?)
The Song of Storms (YYYX) followed by X will surround Sheik with a huge lightning field that kills everything without letting it near her. In normal play it does paltry damage to everything it touches, but in these particular challenge levels...
Just run THROUGH the big group of enemies and they all die.
Aaargh, this map just before (what I assume is) the Gauntlets in the southwest corner is driving me mad. How many hearts can you lose before the game drops you to B rank for defense? Becaue I need a full A rank to even open the next map. And of course the map has me fight Wizzro and Volga, and they both get morale boosts if I do anything to the Rogue army.

I think it's ten hearts, but I'm not 100% sure.
Also, you get the Great Fairy in the SW corner, not the Gauntlets.
Oh, yeah, but it only lasts a few seconds. Not the most useful IMO.
Edit: Plus playing the harp leaves her SUPER vulnerable so you gotta be pretty far from enemies.
She can play the harp while it's active. Storm is passive.
I mean you have to play the harp to activate the storm. Fine if there are no enemies around you, but in that case, it might run out before you can even use it.
Uuuugh. I hate fighting giant bosses. It'd be different if you could do anything to damage them before they exposed their weak points. But as it is, I'm fighting Manhandla, and waiting patiently while it does every move but the ones that let me use the Boomerang on it.

Here's another question about stuff I can't seem to find in menus: How do I change costumes??
Press the X button on the character select screen.
P.S. - Things I randomly found out yesterday by accident:
- You can reflect some projectiles with your sword ala the Agahnim/Ganondorf fights in Zelda games I managed to do this with Link (knight's sword) and a Lizalfo fireball on accident. I assume it works with other weapons and projectiles (though maybe only for Link? Who knows)
- Random weird touch of detail. I was playing the Farron Woods map as Fi and did that attack where she dashes around really fast. The attack ended up next to a pool with a waterfall flowing into it, and when it finished, the water in the pool actually splashed up from the impact of me slamming dudes against the edge. Was kind of surprised to see that kind of detail that you'd probably never notice in most circumstances.

This one particular adventure mode stage I did may as well have been "Watch Manhandla flail around for ten minutes then fail the mission". It's a goddamn miracle that I managed to beat that one
If I have one objective, glaring complaint against the game, it's having enemies that can only be meaningfully damaged after they use a particular attack, then having no mechanism in place to ensure that they use that attack

I mean, the magic meter will force it open, but you probably wont kill it in one combo. Co-op is glorious for those maps - it's a boss killing race! Shame you can't coop online, since then I could help you out.

Nothing worse than when the stupid giant bosses don't do their one move that exposes it's weakness.
Come on Gohma, shoot your goddamn laser! Don't spin around and charge me.

Actually, a lot of things could've been done to make giant bosses actually enjoyable to fight.
The bosses could've had AI that could be exploited to do their danger moves depending on how you position yourself.
The Digging Mitts badge could've let you do damage to their guarded forms, even a little.
The Magic Meter could've been chargeable in some way other than just finding bottles of magic, allowing you to crack their guard more than once per map.
Bosses have no idea what to do about link spamming light light heavy sword projectiles until they die. I've cleared A LOT of boss fights by just chipping them to death.

How can you do any chipping damage? Is that something you get with 3 Digging Mitts badges?

Just beat the last level on legend mode
It would've been a lot easier if there wasn't a delay between when you stop running and when you could use an item. Arrrrrrrrrgh. Never really noticed it until I

not like gohma or king dodongo but like volga or wizzro.
for big bosses I just stand in the correct spacing and pray.

Honestly I feel like Magic Meter was poorly implemented in general. You can't do anything with it until it's completely full, Magic Jars are rare as shit, and thus you end up hoarding your magic until say, the last commander fight, meanwhile getting a bunch of extra jars that do nothing because your meter is already full.
The solution to the Magic Meter should be that you can use it at any time you have any magic, but obviously it runs out that much faster (and maybe not guaranteed to expose the enemy's weakness meter in that case)
Side note - Adventure Mode question. Where the heck do I use the Recorder? I feel like I should use it to "open up level 7" but there isn't an obvious tile or anything, plus there's a water bomb rock there so maybe not?
Another question - is there some trick to exposing Zant's weakness gauge? Every other boss character will expose theirs after performing a combo attack. Zant... doesn't. Except sometimes he does, randomly. But rarely. It's really weird. Maybe if I actually tried playing as him I would understand how the hell he works :P Still, you see a giant head spitting fireballs, that screams combo attack to me :P

You use it on those little lakes. I think there's only one or two of them on the map.
No idea about Zant.
Anyway, only four Skulltulas to go in Legend Mode! ...but those four are the hardest ones. I either have to use a character / weapon I don't like (Lana's Spear and Darunia) or the requirements to make the Skulltula appear are insane. Seriously, whoever thought of the requirements for the Skulltulas in Ganondorf's final mission is an absolute monster.
I've only put about two hours into the game, and for all I know I'll burn out in no time, but that DLC is looking reaaaaaaaaaaal tempting. It's so much content for such a reasonable price that I almost feel like I should buy the season pass on principle.

Also, in "devastating" maps, use the bow to kill enemy commanders.
This song is amazing.
No, see, it's the right pronunciation because she rules the Mushroom Kingdom.
There's an award for that, actually (clear a map using only items).
And it's so cheap, since almost nothing can engage at bow range but you. Also, the levels LOVE deku babas.

any one of those would've made htings better.
I think I would have been ok with that one.
Going from this to a captain falcon clone is gonna suck.

Reminded me of Bryyo, though the map itself reminded me of the Chozo Ruins.
Unfortunately, I don't think Metroid Warriors is in the cards.
